Don't forget several months ago someone suggested that Carl was realy Triangle and Too. He does sit coutside.

Fr. Biondi spoke to the downtown Rotary club last week and said that he preferred that the new arena be built in the previously discussed Theresa location. He said the University needs to acquire around 50 seperate properties. A few of the property owners were asking 200%-300% over apraised value. If they can't reach an agreement then the greenspace at Compton Ave. just south of the garage would be the back up location. I don't think this has to replace the basesball stadium. Biondi seemed fairly confident that Grand Center would be where it will be built.

I think IO can be a very strong rebounder if he can stay out of foul trouble. Without doing the math from the stat sheet I would be surprised if he didn't lead the team in rebounds per min. played. His problem was staying out of foul trouble. At Louisville he fouled out in about 8 min. of play. Hopefully greater strength will cut down on the reaching. I'll keep saying this, He is the key to our team.

As I said last week that article may have been a ploy to get property prices down. The grand center location across from the Compton garage would be my prefered location. This is close enough for students but also allows for the development of bars and restraunts. Parking would be less of a problem because of the grand center lots. I also believe there are some limitations to useing the green space near Compom Ave. If memory serves part of that land was given for Harris Stowes use.

Burwell got part of his article from talking to Woolard. I have some confidence that Doug has been out front of this issue. I look for SLU to come out of this in a much better league than the one we're in. It will be up to Brad to recruit well enough for us to win.

This might be ploy to get real estate prices down. I do believe we have enough land in the Compton area to build an arena. I would prefer Grand Center,the idea of restraunts and bars near the building is appealing.

In the new Universitas Mag. there is a letter from Fr. Biondi talking aout the new arena and research center.First of all he talkes about when not if. A point of interest is he talkes about new revenue sources from premium seating. Some of this will be luxury box seating,but I'm sure there will be some type of lug on the better seats.. I would rather pay some type of PSL than an annual lug. My guess is they will use the current point rankings for who gets to buy what first. I don't believe they will be able to lug the whole building because of lack of demand. My guess is maybe the top 5000 seats. Whats everybody think? How much would you be willimg to pay?

Too I agree with your point on T J Ford. If he's good enough to play in the NBA so is Perry. His shot is no better than Perry's. If somebody wastes a lottery pick on Ford they are crazy.

Why do you think it's a given that Marquette will jump to the Big East if offered? I for one think they would be better off in a new private school mid west league. While they may make more money initially in the big east they also have additional expenses in all of their other sports. Who do they play in soccer? What do their women do? A really good league for all sports can be created in the mid west. Lets get Larry Albus out there and get this thing going.

I'm not convinced that Marquette jumps to the big east without SLU and DePaul. Money talks and they may throw a lot at MU, but you also have to look at other sports. What kind of soccer does the Big East play? What about all the minor sports? How expensive will travel be? I still believe we will see a new private - mid west based confrence formed. Not only do I feel this would be in our best interest but I also believe it would be in the best interest of DePaul,MU,XU,Creighton,Dayton,Charlette and maybe Tulsa and Bradley. I'm hopeing that Woolard is out front an this. I also think he may be.

I agree with Pitino c-usa sucks. It makes no sense for anyone.We need to be in a basketball only league or at least one where basketball is the dominant sport. You know like c-usa was suppose to be before the football boys came in and took over. I'll miss playing Uof L but we will be better off in our "private school" confrence.

According to the St. Louis Business Journal Alberici Constuction has received a contract to head a design team to build our new arena. Property owners in the area bounded by Olive N.Theresa Washington and N.Leonard have been contacted regarding the acquisition of property. This is where many of us have said it was going.
