  1. It's the NCAA not Slu. They work on a sliding scale. The higher the GPA the lower the ACT score needed. My guess is that if you stopped right now he would qualify, but since in theory his Hargrove GPA could drop going forward he won't qualify untill his final GPA is in. The other side is if he ups his ACT score then he can have a lower GPA.

  2. Since nobody else has done this I'll try to give a recap, but please remember when your as old as I am it's hard to remember your own name. Cheryl was our lead off speaker and gave us a dept update. She is starting to put together a 5 year plan for the dept. She will meet with every coach and they must identify who they will recruit and bring into their program. It was a system that Stanford used. As far as the arena they hope to have 2 major gifts in the near future. A major gift was described as being a least 7 figures. Currently there will not be a practice floor but she hopes that all athletic offices would be housed there.. She did stay that a practice facility would someday be built.{this was music to my ears} She is fighting for the offices. Sport medecine-weight rooms would be there. I think she said it would have 6 locker rooms along with the Billiken Roy urinal. She stated that it was not imposible that construction could begin this year. When asked about seating in the new building she said some kind of group would be formed to address past issues. Next was a womans coach who nobody cared about. Chris Sloan was next. He did a very good job of describing his Job. Travel-food- lodging- game tapes etc. When asked about Tommies qualifying, he said he has received a passing ACT score if he can increase his GPA. {he has acheived the minimum.} Bob Ramsey finished the night with his witty style. Bob thinks about as much of the refs as Wayne Hoffman. In spite of Billiken Roy he things Ian is doing well, and will be a star in the A10. He was very upbeat about our future. I'm tired of typing. Mark your calenders for April 15th the night of the basketball banquet.

  3. At the Tip-Off meeting last night Cheryl said the new arena would seat 13,000 with 70% of those seats being in the lower bowl. The pitch of the seats would be steeper than Savis putting the seats closer to the floor. Having 9,000 seats in the lower bowl closer to the floor sounds very good to me. Our current season ticket base would just about fill that especially if you get more students. With 4000 upper deck seats available it leaves room to grow your program.

  4. Roy I'm pretty sure your right on a practice facility. I don't know about offices. On the good side they have signed off on a weight room and sport medecine facility being part of the new arena. I still expect a first rate building but I think it's a mistake not to have a practice floor.

  5. Despite the fact that DC may not have earned it at West Pine{thats for billikenguest} I don't thing he has been given a fair chance in game minuets. When your as bad as we have been it seems to me everybody should be given a real shot, not just 2 or 3 min. here or there. Is DC the real deal? I don't know but I'd like to see him get a chance. Give him 20 min per for the next 2 games. Can't hurt.

  6. I would like to apologise to Drejaj. I have been ragging on him for weeks. We would not have won last night without his play. When things got frantic in the second half, AD had the toughness to step up and take the 3 pt. shot and take the ball to the hole for a layup. That said I would like him to be the 5th guard in my five man rotation, especially if Clark is in the rotation. I think Clark can play some point. Based on last night Brown would be the odd man out.

  7. Since Tom has left and Ian has started it is more than just promise. There has been nothing wrong with his productivity. If you want to say he hasn't played enough games you have a point. My point is he's doing a pretty good over all job right now,and he will only get better.

  8. I disagree with your statement of Drejajs defense on Diener. When Drejaj came into the game for the first time and Deiner returned from injury Deiner quickly hit 2 buckets because Anthony wasn't quick enough to get out on him. I thought Polks quickness caused Deiner problems, and can only remember 1 or 2 times Deiner was able to just shoot over him. I thought Polks energy was very good on both sides of the ball.

  9. Three star is right about the press. Several times we beat the press, had Ian on the side, but would not attack the basket even though we would have 2on1 or 3on 2 advantages. We automatically threw it out to set up the half court. It is my belief that the only way to make a team stop pressing is to attack the basket and make them pay.

  10. I agree Brad should definitely be retained. I also believe Brad should "'loosen up on his system". He has not been able to get these kids to play his system. When something doesn't work try something different. If the different doesn't work reinstitute your system next year. Please try something new.
