  1. This issue has probably become a "thing" with you know who - I have heard about this kind of a thing before with you know who. An example is a shipping contract was signed with DHL by you know who and in the medical school area they sometimes need to send research samples to other institutions and they have to go over night to prevent them from degrading or data that is too big to send electronically has to get there over night but at the time DHL's contract was only for 1 day delivery. You now who said sorry every thing has to be shipped with DHL period.

Larry has been great for SLU but you have to wonder if he's been here to long.
  2. So what, you have to be in it to win it. I always liked what Dave Odom said while Wake was in the 2000 NIT which they went on to win. He said: "It's not the national championship but it's "a" national championship."

For us Wake fans(I love SLU too) that was a fun ride. Good attendance at all three home games and then a trip to the Garden. Enjoy your team playing, improving and winning.

As others have said, I enjoy watching the Bills play. If the CBI is the only way to play, them I'm all for it. Whether it's a money grab or not let's just keep on playing. The players looked like they had fun and so did I.
  3. Just wish I would have all ready received an email from the school by now telling me how to obtain ticketws or if my nit order will be used to get my regular seat. Either way I wouldn't miss it! B)

I agree. Should have been out first thing in the morning.
  4. Speaking of ND, would it be fair to compare CE to Harangody as a player to be like? Or is Harangody more of a banger? Maybe if CE could combine Harangody's physicality with CE's finesse.

I haven't seen enough of Harangody to know what his game is really like.

While Gody can make an outside shot he scores a lot of points on lay ins around the rim. His interior footwork is very impressive. I see CE as more of an outside shooter like Van Horn.
  5. Here are our percentages per player

    KM - .703 adequate

CE - .647 not good enough

    WR - .481 horrendous

    CS - .759 good

    BC - .581 poor

JJ - .667 not good enough

    FJ - .813 team leader

    JS - .438 horrendous

    CR - .222 seriously

we have one player who doesn't need f/t work. 70% for KM, or .76% for CS isn't bad, but I'd say our guards should be 75% as a minnimum and closer to 80% to be considered very good. FJ who has taken very few shots. Even with our youth, there isn't any reason we should be shooting this poorly.

Cody shot the T's on Wednsday. I'm pretty sure Mitchell and maybe CS were on the floor. It's not all in the numbers.
  6. Sorry to mix two items but;

This game is very similar to the last X visit to SLU when KL had probably the best 2-3 minutes of basketball ever played by a SLU player. Don't remember the final score but it seems like it was similar. Hopefully we will get them on our schedule twice next year so we get another shot at them at the 'Fetz. Come on A-10 officials---recognize a rivalry when it's too obvious to ignore. Playing each other twice next year should help both of our RPIs.

Speaking of next year, what was Burwell talking about when he referred to to a bunch of tall, good-shooting athletes coming in as next years recruiting class. Does he do any research b4 writing something in the newspaper? Last I looked we had filled next years recruiting class with two players, neither of whom would fit his description.

If MM is as good as advertised (best Guard in Chicago) and an excellent outside shooter, coupled with normal improvement from our current players-LOOK OUT NEXT YEAR A-10!

    Hopefully Rob Loe.
  7. I haven't seen Femi do anything this year. What makes you think he would add something to the team? Yes, we do hear about his defense but have we actually seen it? He leads the team in DQs and last played ten games ago. At 6'2', I don' tthink he adds much in terms of guarding Crawford. Guarantee he woiuld have had more fouls than Kyle but so what. If you do a search of old posts, you will see where I thought Jon Smith might get more time. Smith played two minutes last night. Where did he go? What di dhe do to get off the startin gline-up and get buried that far down a short bench?????

He would have done a better job than JJ. I would have liked to have given a few fouls on Crawford when he was in position to score.
  8. I heard an interview with Adam Wainwright yesterday morning where he was singing the praises of Pappy's bbq. It is great to see the success Mike and those guys are having.

Wainwright recently had a fundraiser there for a charity he's involved with. It's a takeoff of the Childrens Miricle Network. They take kids [young adults] who are terminally ill hunting. Pappy donated all of his revenue one Sunday.
  9. Thicks, Broy, get off Majerus's back.

RM is 61 which = old, has documented health problems, and you whine about wanting a coaches radio show on ca-ca 101.1FM?

Very few coaches could have come in here and turned things around.

And he is the only one in the situation that was willing to come here and do it.

Now we are getting there... it is beautiful.

He goes, and we will get another lovable loser.

RM is 62. Had a birthday last week.
  10. I have a huge problem:

I live in NYC, so the tourney is a simple two hour drive from here. No problem.

The problem is, I live with my pregnant sister, her husband, and their baby.

And her due date is March 14th!

So I can't go to Atlantic City cause they expect me to take care of their first baby and drive them to the hospital, plus, who knows when she'll actually start going into labor!

How inconvenient! Doesn't she realize how important Billiken basketball is? Can't she pick another week to have a baby?!

    Good grief.

Take the baby with you to AC.
  11. Something tells me the X game on Wednesday night may be the best crowd / atmosphere so far since playing at Chaifetz. Let's hope we bring our A game and it could be a very fun night.

Dayton was pretty damn good. Hope we beat it.
  12. From the Xavier board:

for all of those making the trek to stl on the 24th I own a pizzeria...thegoodpie.com...a block away from chaifitz center. We are always packed with slu fans before games. Last week we had a sign up charging a $10 cover charge to any flyer fans. Next week I would love to pack the place with my Xavier fans, to that point a free beer will be given to anyone dawning the proper blue. Hopefully we can leave the sluers scratching their heads.

ps, anyone else sitting in 216? got my tickets through X

cheers, hope to see you here!

    WTF?

PI in the CWE is much better anyway. PEACE

I use to like the Good Pie. Pappy's from now on.
  13. imo, last night was rickma's best job of coaching since becoming our coach. first we basically beat mi$$ouri. same style of play, same players. all the crazy shots with no regard for shot clocks or team positioning, defense is all hustle with a lot of biting, pulling scratching, grabbing thrown in. basic chinese fire drill.

rickma adjusted. started pushing back in the second half. subbed more frequently to counter the wearisome effect of the frantic nature of the game. adjust the offense where instead of looking for threes went to the basket. really matched up to the players on the floor.

i think he worked the refs beautifully. the whole, "i'll forfeit, i mean it" was nothing more than a suck up to the refs. and imo paid off big. especially considering barron was fighting the refs the entire night and was just destroying himself in the refs eyes.

that was an extremely talented team we beat last night. the level of athleticism and the depth of that roster was amazing. mitchell was no athletic match for the mejia kid that came in and same with kyle vs the cochran kid. but the level of help defense played and the changing looks they continued to give rhody more than neutralized the rhody athleticism.

i tell you what. after tonite, i think we can run the table. i have been sitting back thinking, well once we come up against the good athletes this smoke and mirrors is going to be tough to succeed. well i am betting that right now coach mack and his band of puffing musketeers are walking around with the front of their pants wet with fear for wednesday. i cant wait. bring on the pink boys of cincy.

I don't know if Rick should get credit or Barron should take the blame, but we got them to slow down and play to our pace in the second half. I also give JJ credit for his defense on Richmond. Richmond could not take it to the hole, so Rick put JJ on him and told him to stay out. Our adjustments were very good.
  14. Larry has been such a disappointment as a pro. Gone from team to team because of injuries and lackadaisical play. Now he nothing more than cap space. He'll probably be shipped to the Rockets in the next couple days in the McGrady trade. That will be his 7th team in 11 years in the league. He's played 700 games in the league but only 150 of those did he play hard.

Larry just bought a 6.1 million dollar house in St. Louis County. He did all right for himself.
