BradFan Posted February 20, 2006 Share Posted February 20, 2006 As an out of town poster who just spent the weekend in St. Louis, have to say the size of the arena sounds right. Billiken fever is not a given in STL over the long run..hope Brad can build it and keep it for awhile, but this town bleeds red. For every Billiken item for sale in a store, there are 1,000 Redbird and 100 Rams and 75 Blues items (OK, that's not scientific). Opting for the smaller size, plus practice facility/offices, is what makes sense. Not to dismiss SLUs basketball legacy, but there isn't a ton of goodwill built up to work with. And the money for the project obviously isn't readily at hand. This will be a nice addition to the campus and make this program far more attractive to potential recruits.
