Goodwin is now ranked #55 on ESPN's top 100. Hashan French also is mentioned in their "on the cusp" section for top 100 recruits. Here is his blurb.

So they do change the recruit rankings? Is that due to players not being eligible or recruit-able like that guy with the robberies

Do we even technically have any more scholarships available? May need to wait until after this year to clear some of that up.

My guess is Nuefield and Gillman will be gone along with Bishop since his injury would give him a medical redshirt. He has a good enough resume for another decent team.

No we don't, gobillsgo. I know a lot of programs go over their scholarship limit and deal with that after the season, so I wasn't sure if we were going to do that or not. Besides verbals aren't binding anyway. I was just wondering if there were any rumors out there about other players we might be the leaders for, although if I was guessing, I would think Watson is a high (if not the top) priority right now. Frank mentioned on his show yesterday that the staff is working hard on him.

OK so theoretically we get Watson, that would put us at Goodwin, Thatch and Henriquez competing for SG, but then you'll say well they can play point, which would but them in competition with Ty Graves which makes sense if Goodwin is expected to be PG. In all honesty this would all work out if we play without a Center, and have 2 solid rotations, we would be in really good shape in the A10 in 2018, this that would minimize injuries and exhaustion. But for 2019 you would run into problems getting a potential stud, like Goodwin 2.0 since there would be so much competition between Goodwin and Thatch and Watson for PT. If Thatch has proven anything, its that he was criminally underated

Even if he wanted to, I dont he can leave.  What big program would take him right now?  He has to prove he can win here first.

Has a coach ever left in a rebuilding year? Also isn't this kind of like the cheater concept, as in if they did it to someone else they will do it to you, Ford would have a reputation of bouncing along to better schools at every chance he got, definitely not a smart move.

Verbal has been off awhile which is disappointing since some players are ranked in the average way below what they are

Maxpreps might have what you're looking for, but behind the paywall. They also tend to miss games, so it's incomplete info.

STLToday is pretty good for the metro, but doesn't include all of Missouri: http://stats.stlhighschoolsports.com/sports/basketballboys/stats/default.php

Yea i used to check that but today I saw Goodwin is no longer listed and Thatch isnt listed either due to incomplete games not being shown for Stats. They say min of 12 games played but Goodwin has definitely played more than 12

  6. Number 35 on ESPN just got released by Saint Johns 4* C. Dropped because of his second robbery charge. While it is quick to jump on him for being a repeating criminal, he had a very rough upbringing and was only recently adopted in 2013. Do you think he is redeemable? Would be an amazing get if it wasn't for his off court conduct. I personally think that it would be really risky to get him with a huge payoff if he matures. I think it could be a part of SLU's mission if we took him in and hoped to change him, but chances are he won't. Ideally we would take him as a walk on then award him a scholarship if he proves himself, but with him having a poor background that wouldn't be realistic. Such a shame, since college basketball would have been his saving grace

Have the Ivy schools started offering scholarships?  I mean, I know they've always provided some assistance, but not full-rides.  I thought they "didn't offer athletic scholarships."  Has that changed?

I've actually never heard of that and thought that was ridiculous so I looked it up and yes the Ivy's still do that. Basically the coach makes an argument and letter to the admissions office to get accepted and they can't sign any letter, a commitment is based on trust, so strictly verbal. Learn something everyday

As scary as it is, there is no question there is less talent on this team than the previous two years... In addition to Ash, you lose MY, MR, and MB, plus Bishop has been hurt for half the season.

Exactly, Ford's system would work better with better athletes like Ash and MY and MR. Also Bishop being hurt tires us out even more. Its been said before but I'll say it again, this year is tryouts for next year. Players didn't leave last year because of this year, they left because of next year and knew their future was gone by their senior year.

  9. I would rather not play Illinois yet and lose that recruiting battle, but Mizzou in 2 years would be great for SLU, but could be a nail in the coffin for Mizzou so I don't know why they would want that. Is there the recording of the show online?
