Go WR. Sure wish we'd had him for a year or two after the situation. That might well have produced a nice run in the dance.
It is a shame that he matured a couple years late. This type of maturity level would have gotten him drafted and SLU a pretty deep run in the tourney a year or 2 ago. It seems he has been working hard.

Keep sticking your head in the sand - this team is playing poorly at just the wrong time. Not sure why it took so long for JC to call a time out in the second half but he is not helping his team get their heads out of their rears. JC's lack of urgency simply lends itself to the team to take it over. RM would have called as many time outs as needed to wake them up.
RM would have burned every timeout he had in the first 3 minutes of the second half. Much love to RM. He would have also had someones butt for the center going 94 feet for a layup at the end of the 1st half.

Could not agree more. +100000. As I said in another thread, this team was built to defend. We seem to think that once we cracked the top 10 and maybe earlier that we are going to outscore people. Not going to happen. We let the Bonnie shoot over 50% on us today. That is unacceptable and ridiculous. No desire on the defensive end for quite some time now. Leaking oil is squarely related to our lack of desire to defend. They defend they win. That simple.

Who is making the big money - the seniors or JC? If all you had to do just let he seniors play and all would be well then who needs a coach - no, JC has this squarely on his shoulder and he has to figure out a way to get the team ready for the NCAA. When the players play well he gets credit so when they are not performing then he has to wear the collar also.
This makes no difference. This team was built to defend. Our seniors have lost focus and think they are going to outscore people. Not going to happen. It is inexcusable to give up 71 points to St. Bonaventure and allow lay up after layup. JC cannot be blamed for their lack of desire to guard. We have been leaking oil for a while and it all comes down to our desire on the defensive end. The Bonnie shot over 50% today. That is ridiculous. We thought we could just outscore them. Just like the other losses in this streak. We actually defended at UMass and what happened?

Manning had an okay game today. Problem we did not have an answer to their zone chalk that up to JC and crew not making adjustments
I thought manning played well today. I also thought Tanner played very well. Mike McCall was fantastic. We played poorly as a whole and I NEVER blame officiating for a loss but if it is a foul in the first minute of the game it is a foul in the last minute of the game. As poorly as we played as a whole, if Jordair goes to the line there we win the game.

Bench warming in street cloths or not, I would think he would get a ring if (big IF) the Grizzlies won the western conference even.

You're right. That surprises me. Maybe I don't know enough about the nba and contact or cba deals. Don't know why you would lock in a by for next year when you only need him for last game of the regular season
I don't know enough about the nba or their practices but this doesn't make much sense to me either unless they have a plan for his development and think he has what it takes to be a contributor. The timing is quite puzzling to me. Even more puzzling is that he didn't even dress for the game.

I haven't researched it but I am guessing he's on a 10 day contract. Yes they get pros minimum for 10 days. Pro rated. I think they can be cut anytime though. I also believe team can sign you to another ten day after that. After that though they have to give you a contract for the rest of the year. This doesn't apply in willies case. Not enough games left

I also don't understand what the big deal is with Giannini having a PhD and calling the idiot "doctor." He wrote a book with a lead-in by Mike Brey. Meh. The guy does not impress me much as far as a coach is concerned.
His recruits include Galloway, who transferred back to Philly from South Carolina and Garland who did the same from Va Tech. Also last year Earl Pettis from Rutgers. And then he lost big man Aaric Murray. And LaSalle itself is a dump in the dump of north-central Philly.
Well if Giannini carries the Dr tag around then maybe he should show a little more class when others are present. My 10 month old was in the baby race Saturday and we were waiting in the tunnel to enter the Arena when the half ended. LaSalle came off the court past us and everyone ran past us pretty quietly except Giannini. He was yelling from the time he hit the tunnel with every other word being the F Bomb. Ok for the locker room, but there were at least 6 children not counting the babies seeing and hearing this whole classless scene. My 3 and 5 year olds both asked me why that man was yelling f#### at those boys. The guy doesn't impress me much either taj. Not as a coach or an individual. We were right in front of him and his tirade could have waited 1 minute until they reached the locker room.

Better than the 3 game losing streak. #3 and #4 in the polls. Billikens lost one road conference game while shooting poorly and looking sluggish should translate into a severe ass whippin for LaSalle on senior day and the start to another 10 game winning streak finishing by beating the Jayhawks in the National Championship game.

Sounds like your son didn't have what it took mentally to win. Winning isn't all physical. I'd imagine many babies can get easily distracted with the crowd, sounds, and camera-men. Backhand does have special supplements for mental acuteness to help; adderall. Just crunch some up in his or her bottle beforehand and he or she will be focused on finishing 1st....like a thoroughbred with blinders.
Backhand doesn't just do muscles.
My daughter was in the race in 2009. She was not mentally tough enough to get it done. my boy is entered this year. We have been training for weeks. Watching race film and getting his mind right. I would make him the favorite this year at probably 5-2 odds.

Bob Huggins left Kansas State (Big XII) for W. Va (Big East) where West Va had never been been known for their basketball. Yes, it was/is his Alma Mater but who saw this coming? Another one, here locally, was Mike Anderson leaving Mizzou (Big XII) for Arkansas (SEC) which many thought was a move to a lesser program.
And what are both of them doing now? Hell mizzery beat arkansas by 30 tonight.

Your Ferrari was a volkswagon bug according to BCS schools. The difference is coaching and system. Not sure your point Rich but last time I checked, none of our players were 4 or 5 star recruits. Who on our team is going in the NBA draft? Get over yourself and realize there is more to the team dynamic than being handed something.

Recruiting will not just take care of itself with a little tourney suceess as Spoon and Romar proved here. Do you think Crews is a better recruiter than LoRo?
LoRo used SLU like a $50 hooker. Never had any intentions of staying here. Oh and by the way Washington sucks. If Lo Ro can recruit, then he sure as hell can't coach.

This program F-ing sucked for a long time. and when the program didn't suck it was a flash in the pan. all this talk about 'does Marquette think this is the 80s'..... Do you guys think this is heaven???? I for one think this breath from purgatory is spectacular. wahhh wahhh national coach of the year im too good for it..... sit on your f-ing hands during the game some more.

Probably harder to coach guys you didn't recruit than guys you did recruit. Majerus started the process but to get these young men to continue down the road to success takes a true leader. Also backing off a little and allowing them to teach him their system takes a special person. Jim Crews will be successful at SLU. No doubt in my mind. Majerus was a legend and recruited these guys but Crews led them the last 2 years and did an unbelievable job. Those are the facts.
