  1. I'm on the SLUnatics board and it's been an extremely frustrating year in terms of getting students motivated. I cannot imagine that many students are going to be studying on a Saturday night. The lack of leadership from the "leaders" doesn't help. If the two leaders aren't motivated enough to show up against Wofford, then why would the average student?

Anyone have any ideas for how I can get things going? I know that a lot depends upon the success of our team, as well as the reputation of the opponent, but there has to be something that can be done. I'm open to pretty much any (reasonable) ideas.

Step 1: Get rid of the damn balloons. The students get quiet and just play with the balloons when they get them. Someone needs to tell Chris May they don't even look good and besides a loud student section > student section that "looks good"

  2. Anybody like Anthony Grant (Alabama)? SLU would probably have to drop $2 to get him.... not gonna happen if we only paid RM $1. Gregg Marshall (Wichita State) or Dan Hurley (Rhode Island) seem like reasonable targets. A lot of good candidates are already in the A10, so it might be harder to get them and even harder to stay under $1. Biondi best pony up.

  3. Butler currently over #8 UNC 50-26 with 15:03 remaining. Besides UNC sucking it up pretty badly, this Butler team is not going to be an easy conference game. Also it is the only team we play twice and the possibility of two ranked A10 teams arrises (when did this happen last?) Good to see, but then again we have to play this team.

  4. Well, Glaze only played at the end of the game when the result was not in doubt anymore. Even with Evans in foul trouble in the first half last night, we didn't see Glaze play any. My thought is that we won't see Drew at all and that he is going to end up being redshirted.

Probably right, I guess if Evans is in foul trouble we will see Barnett... All we can do is pray that Evans and Remekun or Ellis get in trouble. Yesterday seemed to be a FoulFest so hopefully we can still draw them but not give out so many so early.

  5. CBS Sports computer has Kansas 67-63... I'll take that. Hopefully the team is good on rest (we have a little more than Kansas does), plus Kansas doesn't really have a finisher right now. While we will all agree KM is our finisher, from what we have seen with MM and DE I believe those two could finish a game if it is as close as predicted. It'll be a close one tonight, and even without KM and KC we should pull out a win (let me stress it will be very close). With Glaze out does anyone think we may see Drew?

  6. while there is no doubt that Chris Harriman did a good job in his short time at slu, there are plenty of assistant coaches across america with much better resumes, contacts and experience that i would rather take a run at first.

Ohh I completely agree, Harriman is a good coach, but I think we could do better or find someone cheaper (Biondinomics). But you know the board will bring up his name eventually, I think he has become one of those topics now.

  7. No kidding! What's the deal????

We are playing "no-name opponents." With the OOC schedule I don't think we will see the community a lot unless it is a big team like always no matter how good the team is. Hopefully in the future we can start home and home with someone like Kansas, Duke, Illinois, or Missouri (heck a game like these might sell out Savvis.) Anyone know if this Lobos game is a long term thing or just a home and home?

  8. I'm not sure if the annual student game has been decided on but from judging what normally happens I am guessing the Butler game would be the one that we would go to. The only other games that would be on weekends is GW, Richmond, and St. Bonnie. The St. Bonnie game seems too early in the schedule and I remember last year there was discussion that the teams were picked based on the quality of the game which should rule out GW and Richmond. Butler also makes sense because of playing two games between us this year. You might see some students there then!
