Did you guys watch any of the NBA draft combine? I noticed Jolly declined to give any interviews. Bold move but I like it.
-
The big man from Arkansas, Hugh G. Reckshun will be on his official this weekend.Jack Mihoff and Mike Hunt are supposed to be coming in for a tandem visit this weekend. Rumblings of an asian player, Phuc Ahl coming in, too. Other than that, I haven't heard anything. Getting pretty slim out there...

extremely insightful...thanks for the $.02 GabbyGotta stop getting to the A-10s and pissing it away...

I predict that we will fill both scholarships from players not on this list.In an attempt to keep this thread moving, I predict we will not land any of these guys, a combination of us not being interested in them and in the case of Yacoubou, him not being interested in us. I certainly hope I am wrong about Yacoubou because I think he would be a nice addition.
I predict we will get one player not on this list and have one unused scholarship. Any other predictions out there?
BTW, it is looking more ane more like Drew was NOT forced out to land a player we had lined up.

more evidence that Crews cannot recruit...wow, we really need some bodies for the 2017-2018 season, we need to step our recruiting up, ASAP.
-
Will he be visiting Drake in the studio or on tour?

This thread is to be used to track the future of the program and , thus, all things Brett Jolly.
For starters, he is a professional fishing guide:
what a catch!

Whoever Jolly wants as support for a 4 yr title runBen Weixlmann tweeted this earlier this morning:
@BWeixScout: New offer out in the 2014 class for #SLU. Details on http://t.co/68hEyqvofX.
Any thoughts on who it could be?
-
I heard Jolly is on campus today! I don't remember if I was dreaming or not but good news seems to be on the way!

screw corporate sponsors - they should go for foreign country sponsors.
"We now welcome you back to Republic of Congo court"

thanksI think is is referring to the fact that McCall retweeted this:
desirae ball @DBALLiN1315 May
Everything isn't always how it reads. There's a lot more to being a division one basketball player than basketball.
It was on the day that it was announced Drew would transfer. However, it is hard to tell if it is related to the Drew situation and it could be taken multiple ways even if it is related.
-
What were MM's comments? I think I missed thisI'd prefer we wait if it's not someone we really want.
As far as Drew goes, remember all the players weren't necessarily on Drews side and MM's comments that it's about more than just basketball lends credence to Kitti's comments,
I'm sure any recruit seriously considering us who has hesitation regarding Drew has been spoken to about what went down. It's very easy to make a point without getting specific.

He's a frickin HS kid - he will talk to anyone who wants to talk to him about where he is gonna go.You know as well as I the staff can't say anything about RO because of NCAA rules. In fact they have never said anything about RO.
The fact he is still in contact with B Wex probably is a pretty good indicator that there is still interest.
The fact that he is talking to Ben Weixlman means absolutely nothing...
-
When Grandy committed he was on nobody's radar and I don't even remember anyone ever even hearing of a visit. Just trust what the staff is doing...they aren't just sitting on their hands waiting and hoping for RO to commit.Out of curiosity, let's say the Nova kid and RO go elsewhere and there really is no one else on the radar, would folks take J.Strawberry even if JS wasn't quite up to an A-10 quality guard? Maybe he could turn into a solid pg after 2-3 years?
I see cheese's point about an injury, but outside of RO, it doesn't seem like we have anyone on the radar that would be able to help out if one of MM, AM or JJ goes down. Cheese, would you take Strawberry just to have as a possible emergency fill-in?
-
Why do you say the staff seems willing to wait? I havent heard anything that suggests this...Because we aren't aware of any other quality freshman names available. Accordingly, the staff seems willing to wait on him, which suggests they don't have a great Plan B highschool recruit if he goes elsewhere. Plan B may very well be pocket the scholarship.
Don't worry, the obsession over 2014 recruits will start soon enough.
For all we know, the staff has moved on to other targets and transfers which seems more likely. Feel free to show me where I missed the staff mentioning him as a target recently.
-
Why is everyone so obsessed with RO? At this point I'd rather not have him. He visited and its been forever since then with no action. The last thing I want is another Keith Carter

Big Cory fan - always worked hard. Congrats Cory!
I really wish Majerus could have redshirted him frosh year cause we saw major progress from Cory the last few years.
-
Not only that - he is on a fundraising trip to Antarctica - lets get him out!We actually have LOIs from two recruits, but the paperwork is still sitting on Biondi's desk awaiting approval.
-
I bet we don't have them lined up because Biondi wouldn't let us...man we really need to get him out of here -we should start protesting!RO hasn't tweeted since 5/13. After Tennessee and Tennessee Tech seemed involved, we've seen nothing from either. I have no clue what's going on or why he wanted to drag this past the 15th. Lot of question marks that weren't there two weeks ago.
Saintil and Strawberry both appear to be headed to prep school but neither have made it official (publicly).
Haven't been able to confirm whether Yacoubou actually visited Pitt. He was supposed to be there Tuesday but was definitely home in the Bronx Wednesday.
Things have been pretty silent on the Jesperson front this week, too. He did a few visits in a very short time. Maybe he's just spending a few days at home and talk to his family before making it official.
After the devastating blow of Jolly's decision to go to prep school, I'm waiting for the other shoe.
In all seriousness, I'm wondering whether we really do have two guys lined up for the two open spots.
-
We already know its worse since we arent getting Jolly...We will find out sooner or later, for better or for worse.
-
Brett Jolly can bring many talents to our campus
-
Why is this being posted?Xavier just got a commitment from Euro forward Aleksandar Vezenkov. I think that leaves one scholarship, but I'm trying to confirm that.
He's a 6-8, 200 lb. 17-year-old who had already been on the radar of NBA scouts.
This matters because we're going head-to-head with them for Abell, just in case anyone wonders why this is being posted.

Most logical thing I can think of is that Drew was not closing on enough coeds and giving the team a bad reputation with the ladies...if this is the case (which all signs point to yes) then this would have a serious negative impact on recruiting since bball players would have a reputation of not closing.a number of you have now said that there is or could be another side of the drewcut story. i must be thick. could someone give me the scenario of the "other side" that makes slu look good/justifiable? i will hang up and listen. thanks!
Remember on the Djambo topic I told everyone recruiting = babes. Clemson babes > SLU babes = fact. Not closing bball players < closing bball players. Recruiting is simple and we couldnt afford to have an eyesore like Drew anymore.
