Tom Davis has been gone from Iowa for quite a while. With Iowa's hiring of Fran McCaffery, they are now on their third coach since Davis left. My guess is that Tyler Smith was recruited to Iowa by Steve Alford, who was Davis' successor.
I had forgotten Alford. Thank you for that.

Didn't Bruce Pearl recruit the guys that were busted with the marijuana? Therefore, he is partially responsible for the embarrassment it brought to the school. He did the best overcoming that but if he recruited better citizens or mentored them better perhaps he wouldn't be in that predicament in the first place.
Tyler Smith was a transfer from Iowa. I don't know much about the other guys, but Smith wasn't a Pearl recruit per se. I don't know how long Tom Davis has been gone from Iowa or I'd blame Smith on him.

the other teams were a combined 85-182. yikes. we could be better than kentucky next year, depending on how many asshat kangaroos leave early and how many asshat kangaroos they bring in.
Well, Kentucky stands to lose 4 starters to the first round of the NBA draft...Wall, Cousins, Patterson (not a frosh I know) and Bledsoe...

I do appreciate his hard work and dedication. Hated to see him not get mins vs Princeton after Coach was quoted that he would. I've got to assume his work ethic in practice keeps the schollie guys from taking plays off.
How about read the entire sentence before criticizing moron. As for what you completely ignored, it said that he wouldn't get one because we are bringing in better talent.

Thanks guys....I wasn't sure how that worked. I know they get some info over the summer to pump up season ticket sales. Big year for us to add some BCS teams if we can get them.

I don't think anybody could be happier for Darrin Young. If there were scholarships available, I'd say give him one..sadly, that won't be the case. Not so sadly, the reason is we're bringing in better talent.

VCU fan here...congrats on a good season and a very competitive series. You will be very good the next couple of years.
VCU should be too since we return all 5 starters (unless Larry Sanders declares early for the NBA draft) and only lose 2 seniors who were role players. Hopefully both teams will be in the NCAA tournament next year!

Well, there's been some give and take on Cassity. I think he would be an excellent defensive stopper/role player. If he improves offensively, he would definitely be a key cog in the machine. As a role player, he may be a little fresher and give himself better scoring chances...but I for one think he's going to. He can D up anybody on the perimeter, and we certainly need that.

Well, in terms of destroying expectations, check.
Tonight was as frustrating a game as I've seen in awhile...but that's the kind of motivation that makes teams better.
When that happens, look out world.
