  1. Fellow SLU students/student section inhabitants,

Next season, if you are at the games to watch and not participate in cheering, gtfo out the student section, especially the first 3 rows. I yelled and screamed at so many clueless looking students who were not cheering at all. So frustrating, especially in a game like tonight's. The blue crew should have been 3x as loud easily.

If you are not going to participate, please, at least sit up high so that I don't lose my voice cursing you and your mother. thanks.

    • The Billikens are tough at Chaifetz.
    • The VCU Rams aren't that good on the road.
    • Coach Majerus will make the necessary adjustments.
    • The Bills won their first two games against "Rams" this season and then lost the next two; now the pendulum swings back to winning the next two.
    • Heck, "Rams" don't do well in St. Louis lately.

    6. SLU winning the CBI is the way things ought to be. BANG

  2. you're failing to understand the psyche of willie reed.

watch him play...he gets fired up. he loves when the crowd is into it. did you see his block against rhode island when we were losing badly? he whacked it about 90 feet into the crowd because he was angry. he's a PASSIONATE player. he has real FIRE! after the dayton game, he was up on a table dancing in front of blue crew. NO ONE loves the crowd and works the crowd more than willie reed. he's not the type of guy who likes silence.

it is not patronizing or embarrassing at all for the crowd to chant while he shoots a free throw. he loves it! it might not help his form, but it helps his confidence, and that's what he needs, not silence.

+1. The point of chanting, like you said, is not patronizing. In the student section, we legitimately believe that it helps Willie. And frankly, why not? If a player goes 2/9 from the line with the crowd silent, why not try the complete opposite strategy?

  3. Just as long as they don't break out with, "That's all right, that's okay; you'll be working for us some day."

Lol they certainly didn't. I started a couple "start your Bentley" cheers near the end of the game. So if anything, I started the socioeconomic cheers haha

The princeton did some sort of cheer at the end (alma mater?) which I thought was pretty cool.

  4. I know this is very unlike Message Boards but, I change my mind, I'm wrong, I have no place complaining. I understand that if someone like Barrack Obama shows up for ONE game no matter the importance we will cheer that he came. So for someone like Chaifetz to come to a game it is worthy of a couple of cheers. I was just frustrated at the number of people of the first two games and wanted to take it out on someone. Pretty exciting first post.

    L.M.F.A.O.

  5. On a more serious note, Princeton fans are some of the classiest around. After the game, all the guys I ran into (there were 3 younger guys, I think recent alumni) were very nice. Awesome fans, and good to get a quality win against a program that played cornell twice. I can't wait until next season, to be the team in the ncaa tournament instead of being on the outside looking in...oh well. Who's road tripping to VCU??????
