Fellow SLU students/student section inhabitants,
Next season, if you are at the games to watch and not participate in cheering, gtfo out the student section, especially the first 3 rows. I yelled and screamed at so many clueless looking students who were not cheering at all. So frustrating, especially in a game like tonight's. The blue crew should have been 3x as loud easily.
If you are not going to participate, please, at least sit up high so that I don't lose my voice cursing you and your mother. thanks.

They are still trying to get rid of the 500 tickets. The Billiken is out and about passing them out!
All student tickets were claimed.
-
- The Billikens are tough at Chaifetz.
- The VCU Rams aren't that good on the road.
- Coach Majerus will make the necessary adjustments.
- The Bills won their first two games against "Rams" this season and then lost the next two; now the pendulum swings back to winning the next two.
- Heck, "Rams" don't do well in St. Louis lately.
6. SLU winning the CBI is the way things ought to be. BANG
-
Per recent e-mail, free tickets still available to students.
I work in admissions, and we have 300+ RSVPs from admitted students (still in high school) who are receiving free tickets as well. Should be a good presence tonight
-
this is why we need to stop turning the ball over. If VCU runs, blowout.
-
man I love Kwamain. phew.
-
damn conklin. Love ya and you play so hard but sometimes you make me faceplant.
-
so far, 1/5 from 3pt land. hit. your. open. shots. please.
-
I think so on the first one.
wow.... kwamain, ellis, and cassity all airballing 3s? what???
There we go, Kyle. BANG
-
Refs aren't bad.
WR with a flop. Seems he's been doing that more.
Have we hit the rim on a 3 pointer?
I think so on the first one.
wow.... kwamain, ellis, and cassity all airballing 3s? what???

From rammer, sounds like these refs are pretty bad too. Really surprising. /sarcasm off.
Go SLU. So far, sounds like we've done a decent job of slowing vcu down.

you're failing to understand the psyche of willie reed.
watch him play...he gets fired up. he loves when the crowd is into it. did you see his block against rhode island when we were losing badly? he whacked it about 90 feet into the crowd because he was angry. he's a PASSIONATE player. he has real FIRE! after the dayton game, he was up on a table dancing in front of blue crew. NO ONE loves the crowd and works the crowd more than willie reed. he's not the type of guy who likes silence.
it is not patronizing or embarrassing at all for the crowd to chant while he shoots a free throw. he loves it! it might not help his form, but it helps his confidence, and that's what he needs, not silence.
+1. The point of chanting, like you said, is not patronizing. In the student section, we legitimately believe that it helps Willie. And frankly, why not? If a player goes 2/9 from the line with the crowd silent, why not try the complete opposite strategy?
-
Just as long as they don't break out with, "That's all right, that's okay; you'll be working for us some day."
Lol they certainly didn't. I started a couple "start your Bentley" cheers near the end of the game. So if anything, I started the socioeconomic cheers haha
The princeton did some sort of cheer at the end (alma mater?) which I thought was pretty cool.
-
When we were quiet, he went 2/9 from the line. If the chanting bothered Willie, I'm sure he would motion to us to be quiet.
-
I know this is very unlike Message Boards but, I change my mind, I'm wrong, I have no place complaining. I understand that if someone like Barrack Obama shows up for ONE game no matter the importance we will cheer that he came. So for someone like Chaifetz to come to a game it is worthy of a couple of cheers. I was just frustrated at the number of people of the first two games and wanted to take it out on someone. Pretty exciting first post.

On a more serious note, Princeton fans are some of the classiest around. After the game, all the guys I ran into (there were 3 younger guys, I think recent alumni) were very nice. Awesome fans, and good to get a quality win against a program that played cornell twice. I can't wait until next season, to be the team in the ncaa tournament instead of being on the outside looking in...oh well. Who's road tripping to VCU??????
-
The Rammer doesn't say no to drugs...drugs say no to The Rammer.
The Rammer doesn't have to do ###### for a Klondike bar.
-
For the crowd? Kinda sorta maybe.
For the students? Absolutely not. This was loud. UD was RAVENOUS and POSSESSED.
But a good student effort and GREAT crowd effort considering it was half the size.
I disagree. Oh well. Seriously great night of basketball either way. Go billikens!!!
-
Broken thumb, from listening to 101 espn. ouch
Thanks for letting the game get out of hand, refs.
-
GOO BILLIKENS! In the student section tonight, a lot of students didn't make it until after halftime-it's greek week at slu. (I agree, no excuse) But once a good amount more showed up... wowww was it loud. Seriously the noise rivaled the UD game.
-
Cool quick story-just walked down to the Chafe to get my ticket (I work for SLU) and ran into KM, JJ, CE, and WR on the way back up to the office. Told them I got my ticket and to play hard tonight. I seriously love these guys... While we might not have the most talent, by God we play with a helluva lot of heart. Pumped for tonight's game.
-
Odd, I just bought my tickets over the phone and no service fee was mentioned to me.
hmm.... <calls back and yells and screams and gets tickets for free> ...just kidding
Did you have to go through some menus when you called? I had to press "1" a couple times for single game tickets.

From ESPN...
Another guard, Kyle Cassity, had four assists and a steal in 33 minutes but didn't attempt a shot because of an undisclosed injury.
