  1. If a ticket is $40 and parking is $5 then it would take one extra ticket sold to pay for 8 free cars. If parking is the catalyst for say 150 extra fans than that covers 1200 cars. Maybe 150 is a stretch and this is somewhat illogical, but my point is they really wouldn't lose much cash if it motivates some casual fans because 'fetz really doesn't have the most convenient parking situation if it's the middle of January

  2. Jay Bilas ranks the 68 best teams. Insider article. Has us at 24. Come on Jay.

    24. Saint Louis Billikens (Previous ranking: 41) 139.gif

The Billikens have won nine games in a row, including attention-grabbers against VCU and Butler. In fact, Saint Louis beaten Butler twice, and done so in convincing fashion. Jim Crews has not changed the system much from Rick Majerus, and his team takes care of the ball with tremendous strength and resolve, stays in front of you and does not allow second shots. The Billikens also get the shot they want, not the shot you want them to take. This will be a tough team to play in the postseason

Even more BS considering he has VCU at #19

  3. Thanks for the heads up. Do you have any suggestions for parking? We're staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, which according to Google, is about 6 miles south of the stadium.

Also, is SLU hosting a formal pre-game meet up, or is everyone just heading to Average Joe's?

Also also, is it fair to presume they don't sell $2 pre-game beers?

Formal Pre-game. I believe it's $15 for the pregame if you aren't signed up through the alumni association already

  4. I disagree. Charlotte played a weaker non-conference schedule than we did. (No kidding) Only one good team. (Granted, it was a quality Miami squad) They have one good win. ONE. That was their game last night at Hinkle-without BU's big man. I think, assuming the Bills show up, we cover the Wiz's spread fairly easily. We're the class of this league and we'll continue to show it on Saturday.

Charlotte's RPI is now in the forties whereas we're still stuck at 56. Computers think otherwise

  5. Jake still has another year so hopefully he can continue to get a little better, but I don't think he has much higher of a ceiling.

Also, Cassity had 18 turnovers on the year his senior year (3.44 assist to turnover ratio) whereas Barnett has 18 turnovers already this year.

  6. Well, they are in a power conference... a BCS conference, so their wins count for more.

Well to play devils advocate here the RPI rankings don't use polls so I think it can be argued that they are unbiased. Given that and the fact that I'm pretty sure RPI has us in the 50's then I would say the AP Poll has us rated quite favorably.

  7. Wait awhile. Maybe soon we will know.

All that matters is the C7+ decision. If we get in we should be able to recuit a top notch coach. Much better situation than the current A-10 with all the lower tier teams, finally TV exposure and TV revenue, quality players will want to be in the new league. A golden boy up and comer or an established coach will want to come here, especially with the understanding that Biondi will be gone soon. The program will ascend to an even higher level.

However, if we do not get in, it will be extremely difficult to get a good coach, with the uncertainty that would follow. The A-10 decimated w/o B, X, D, and Temple.. and where will SLU go? It might take yrs and it may not be close to the attractiveness of the C7+.

While I obviously hope for SLU to make it into the Catholic Conference I think it's a bit overblown that we would suddenly be in such a horrible conference if not chosen.

Temple is leaving regardless, Butler wasn't in our conference until this year, and I think we could still live without Xavier in the A-10. Obviously that's not preferred, but I don't think it would be as bad as people think considering the parity in conference this year.
