  1. I want to thank all of the Billiken fans for your support. I knew that, when the Bonnies lost to Davidson, it was the straw that broke the camels back.

No excuses but, something happened to our guard Jaylen Adams - he is the key that starts the engine - as of yet, it has been hushed up.

    BUT,,,

The lost Davidson may have been divine intervention for Coach Schmidt. Because of loss he was able to attend the New York State Class B Championship game in which Olean ( 27-0 ) played and both of his sons play for OHS.

Not only did Olean win the game but, Coach Schmidt's son was name MVP.

Deep down in my heart I wanted the Bonnies to win the A-10 but, for a man to be there and watch his boys like that I'll make the trade off!

NOW, its up to the Bonnies to win it all and become the 2016 NIT Champs.

PS just to make matters worst, the President of St Bonaventure, Sr. Margret has be diagnosed with Blood cancer and is resigning.

May the Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of us.

  2. Thanks ACE for re-posting the picture of A-10 Coach of the Year Mark Schmidt! Very thoughtful and kind of you to do that!

And yes, I, along with millions of other Bonaventure Braves will " enjoy it while we can ". Because as we all know it might be over before the stroke of Midnight.

Also ACE, Coach already has a rap sheet, he got caught going 35 in a 30 MPH zone in Allegeny!!! Ouch those $ 43.00 traffic tickets really hurt.

Go Billikens - beat George Mason!!!

  3. Over on the bonniebandwagon there is a video of jaylen Adams shot. Looked as if the Billikens defense was in good position and trying not to foul Posley driving the lane. The shovel pass to Adams, with the Billikens defender on him, was just a tough play. And contrary to the Post write up "the students" did not rush the court. Ya maybe 25 went on but that was it. Timmerman is a much better reporter

See you guys at the end of the season!

Good Luck, go Billikens beat Dayton!

  4. And you guys want to fire Crews????

Your young Billikens played a great game and the Bonnies almost got caught in the trap. You guys have a good team. Reggie had family here, really nice folks, wish he would have come to Bonas.

As for the "the chosen one" ha ha beat ya, blah blah blah... Your comments will be hung up on the locker room wall - see ya, wouldn't want to be ya - Gomer.

    Go Billkens beat Dayton

  5. Box thanks for posting the video - ya gotta admit it is funny!

The Billikens have been enjoying the spring type weather here in Otterville. They are feeding them well and will be rested up for the game. Coach Crews and his staff have scouted the Bonnies and have your young team ready for the Reily Center rowdies!

Bonnie fans threw out the world have been waiting for the game. There is just something about us underdogs that wait for games lke this. Besides Canisus and Niagara your team is the rival game we can't wait for! Reason being? You always have such good teams!

Go Billikens, beat Dayton and VCU and that St Joes

  6. This will be a tough game for your Billikens. The Bonnies are on a roll.

Wiz, thebonablog .com is looking a Billikens fan to review your team. You do a good job - they're great guys and the Bonnie fans would enjoy your opinion.

As for SBU beating the HATED HAWKS, they were up by 17 with 3 1/2 minutes to go! SJU is an NCAA tournament type team.

The Amish taxis will be meeting your team for the trip to the Heart of the Enchanted Mountain!!!

But, I feel the best game vs SLU will be when the Ladies play on Wednesday Feb 10.

    Go Bonnies

  7. Nice win for the young Billikens, just what the Doctor ordered!

No excuse for the Bonnies loosing to VCU on their home court. The Bonnies had the advantage - cold, miserable and snowy - our favorite weather conditions!

The new no touch rules are tough to deal with. That's why you will see more and more driving the lane, trying to get contact for the foul shots or the " and 1 ".

The Billikens and the Bonnies have this in common - ya just don't know what team will show up for the game?

See you in Olean Feb.7 when the Billikens come to town. If any SLU fans make it there, the Road-Kill Cafe' has some GREAT " Mhu-Shu Muskrat " get the kung-pao style and the possum poppers are to die for!

    Go Billikens beat Dayton

  8. Your a meaning one Mr Grinch ... baiting me like this to come out in the open.. makes me nervous but, here goes;

I think your a little too tough on your Coach,

your team this year is young and plays tough, they just get out of sync, they'll finally put it all together,

Nice win the other night for the Billikens.

    As for the Bonnies,

Watching Dayton during warmups we all thought that they looked like a sweet sixteen team and hope the Bonnies could make it respectable,

As for the Bonnies, it was one of those " oh well " games. First half Dayton made almost all of their shots and their defense just lock down the Bona guards,

Bonnies couldn't buy a basket " live by the 3 die by the 3,

down by 30 at one point in the first half and that's were they lost it - or so it seemed,

in the second half the Bonnies beat Dayton 61 - 18! That's right Dayton was held to only 18 points and there Bonnies took it tom and scored 61 points.

And still lost, but the RC was really rock'in

the DeShawn Pierre falling away out of control 3 point shot over Dion Wright stopped the Bonnies near the end of the game.

aah crap, it would have made the tractor ride back to the farm just a little more enjoyable !!!

Bonnies have 12 game remaining, hope they can go 6-6.

See you guys in Otterville, then, we play you in the Chfitz at the end of the year.

Both SBU and SLU ladies basketball teams are very good this season - if you can, please attend the ladies games.

    Go Billikens Beat Dayton

  9. Just to add on, this is off of todays Bandwagon on Courtney Stockard " Although not a frosh, of the newcomers it looks like Stockard will end up with the most PT by year's end."

Ya can't fault the kid for going to Bonas - its nice, its peaceful and its quiet. Plus the Bonnies need all the help they can get.

  10. "That Sunday, February 7th game at St. Bonaventure will get over a couple hours before the Super Bowl starts. Hopefully they travel back Monday morning instead of Sunday evening. But I doubt it; they normally leave there straight from the game."

The Billikens usually come to Olean two days before the game - don't understand it but, as I have been told, Crews and the STL coaching staff enjoy Olean area once they get there. Says the food is great and its very peaceful and the players get in a lot of study time.

Otterville does not have cable service but, Rural Wi-Fi is " coming soon ". In fact, black and white televisions are making a BIG come back there.

Last game of the season the Bonnies play the Bills in ST Louis. It will be fun to watch the Bonnies Star JUCO player that is from ST Louis.

    BEAT DAYTON

  11. THIS JUST IN ...

Former Jennings High standout Courtney Stockard of St Louis, has given a commitment to St. Bonaventure of the Atlantic 10 Conference.

A 6’5″ wing player, Stockard spent the past season at Allen County Community College (KS) where he was one of the top players in the Jayhawk Conference.

As a sophomore, Stockard averaged 23.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 48 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line.

Courtney vs Reggie next season in the Reily Center. I am looking forward to the matchup.

  12. Unfortunate that he will no longer be with the team. When he played against the Bonnies a couple of years ago at the Reilly Center, I thought " Wow, another great player from So Cal playing in the A10 " !!!

I wish him all the best. I know it must be tough for kids that age to go through these types of life decisions.
