  1. Kyle still is not lighting it up - granted - but this team needs savvy players on the court as young as they are and Kyle gives you that. He needs to be more decisive about driving to the basket and taking an open shot. The problem with playing a team like St. Ambrose is that this is may be their highlight for their year - you should have seen them going crazy on the bench when they were closing in on us and took the lead you would have thought they just won the NAIA tourney. My point is simply that they were playing out of their heads and finally ran out of steam and that is why we finally took over. This same thing happens when we play a UNC close - eventually we just run out of gas. It would have been over much earlier if we could have hit a couple of shots when we were up by 12 - at least twice I think. While I was disappointed with our overall play during the game the more I reflected on it the more I became less concerned. The SEMO game will be important to win. By the way, Willie Reed - he was a non factor for 35 minutes of the game - only at the end did he finally get going. Also, if we had hit 80% of our free throws early on the game would have been over early also but we missed 7 or more FTs in a row which resulted in us not getting any points for a half a dozen trips on offense.

St. Ambrose looked like a high school team....not even a good high school team at that. #3 looked and was built like Screech Powers from Saved by the Bell. We were MUCH more talented and not out-sized (how many times will we be able to say that this year?)

If the team played with half the enthusiasm as Billiken05 cheers with it would have been a blowout.

Props to Billiken05, the guy is a maniac in the stands and its hilarious to watch! Beer on me next game.

  2. I like KC a whole lot, but I can't remember a Billiken ever missing as many shots as he has now a little over one season with the Billikens. I know he is a decent shooter and that is why they let him shoot, but how long will that go on. To quote Nark, maybe he is "snake bit" but if that is the case let's hope he hasn't been bit by a black mamba or he may never find his shot. That is a concern.

Also, I read that somebody heard that the Billikens were holding back plays to not show everything. Is this normal and could that throw the whole team off their rhythm?

KC is disapointing. From last season and now into this season, he misses open shot upon open shot. I can't recall a time when he has knocked down an open jumper. He has a nice stroke, I can't figure out why the ball wont go down...but it doesnt....EVER.

How can somebody say that he is the "best passer" on the team? He doesnt drive to the basket and dish the ball, he runs around a screen passes along the perimeter.

Maybe Majerus likes his hair. I've agreed to let willie eat creatine with me but I cant help KC with his shot.

  3. Cheer up Mr. doom and gloom. Basketball is starting up. Life is good. I have also found that you can have a lot of fun without having to worry about getting sued for some sort of discrimination.

My 2009-2010 Bills prediction: 20 wins.

In celebration of the 20 wins, the 1st 20 Bills fans to gimme a high five at the game tomorrow get a free beer! Go Bills! I'll be in the blue & white pajama pants.

  4. So i went to this Q&A session with Majerus last night on the bottom floor of reinert. It was awesome. First off, hearing Majerus speak in that setting was awesome. I have a ton of respect for that guy. He says things as it is whether or not its really politically correct. He said a few things of interest. He said that we probably wont have the luxury of redshirting CR because Ellis is so iffy, even though it would be best for the team and him if we were able to do that. He said that CS was tough and good. It sounds like he may be ahead of the other freshmen. He seemed to point out that Reid would have a similar problem that KC had in that they know they're good players but they might just be a little too timid on the court. What I really like about Majerus is that he recruits a lot off of passion for the game. He talked about finding the guys who's hearts are really in it, that they're not just doing it because they're talented. He said KM and CS got that competitive fire in them. He said that he is trying to get that a little stronger in WR and absolutely stronger in KC. He also said that BC is so tenacious but he is trying to get him to slow down a bit. Overall he said this year might be a struggle and a lot of uncertainties, nothing we dont know already but he seemed genuinely excited about where the program is going. Can't wait for the 30th to see these guys in action.

That Reinert gather brought back some old college memories, most of which I probably cant post about on here....anyway, back to Majerus. I'm surprised he didnt mention all of the lifting I've been doing with WR this off season. He's probably up to 215-220 lbs, I fed him PB&J sandwiches with creatine all summer and we did push-ups in the quad during every one of his english lit classes this summer. He's ripped. I'm pumped. Bring on Oct 30th...Bring on Dayton!!!

Off to the Rec. Shoulders n Back day.

  5. Davola, thanks for the beer at the last game.....you the man!

So, I started pre-gaming for the game on saturday today. Anyone care to join? Im watching old SLU highlights from the late 90s at my place in south county. I'll be rockin' the blue/white pajama pants from 3rd row saturday. It will be my mardi gras. I'll have beads to throw at the refs.

    Im off to the gym.

  6. I will act as security for the game. Not only will i keep all dayton fans out of the student section...but i will also keep them from entering into the arena. Thats right....absolutely nobody is allowed to root for dayton this saturday, or I will escort them out. I'll be in my blue/white pajama pants...still wearing my shirt from the white out.

    I'm off to the gym.

  7. Thanks for the vine....a few points to ponder:

Is it just me or does Tommy Liddell's work ethic remind you of a certain guard from Duke named Steve Wojciechowski?? Tommy's work ethic is contagious.

Also, Willie Reed reminds me of a young Patrick Ewing in the post.

See you all next wednesday..I'm off to the gym.

  8. If anybody wants, I can take willie to the gym with me and work out. We'll do pushups for a few hours, eat lunch, and then have some creatine for dessert. See you guys at the game tomorrow, give the guy in the white n blue pajama pants a shout out!!!

    Besos.

  9. With all the talk (and desevedly so) being centered on Kevin's game, shot, and resurgence we haven't had much talk about Kwamain or even Wille.

Kwamain was fantastic down the stretch, almost just putting the team on his shoulders during the final overtime. He knew that Richmond was tired and just took it upon himself to get to the hole. We are a much different team when he is on the floor. He is averaging 14.7 ppg over the last 3 games

Willie is averaging 12.7 ppg and 7 rpg over the last 3 games. He's also hit 21 of 28 ft's over the last 5 games.

I love watching these 2 play.

  10. Guys-

The season is coming to an end. As always I'll be rockin' the checkered blue and white pajama pants to the game. Although the slu bball team is striking out this year in the A-10, I can't say I ever could hit a southpaw back in college either.

Gimme a shout out when you see me tonight.

    Hasta Luego.
