I've seen Jimmy play since he was in 6th grade and can tell you he's a really hard-worker, smart ball player (gym rat & heady guard, for sure). He also is a really good ball-handler and passer. I really expect him to benefit the scout team and, like KShoe said, perhaps get some meaningful minutes.
Not that it matters, but from the code words used in your description, I assume he is caucasian?

+1 it will be fun to see how Ash, the rising sophomores and freshman gel and grow next year. Maybe we see the return of Roy as his Disney quote will resemble the Billikens again. He was such a perfect foil - too bad he suddenly got feelings

As long as they are not bottom teams in the A10 (with the exception of George Mason which plays real well but somehow lost frequently this past season), I would be happy with any combination of teams.
I hope I am wrong but we may be watching a "bottom team in the A10" every game. We will be very young and inexperienced so I kind of expect a bumpy ride next year and I would consider it to be a major accomplishment to get back to the NCAA tournament. We may relish games against the bottom teams as a chance for a win.

I am guessing nobody ever asked or thought it was worth reporting. +/- and the route to the Providence airport is much more important.

Loyola is a tough place to win - no history of succes and very small fish. IMO should have waited for a better job. I guess the fear is that will never come.

My problem is that many posters act like Crews was just a figurehead and deserves little credit for SLUs last 2 years of success. RM was great, like a ch 7 bankruptcy, he rid us of our mistake filled past and set us on a new course with a fresh start. But we cannot continually compare Crews to a myth - RM had his issues and really just a decent w/L record.

This is a lazy comparison but is Ash similar to Reggie Bryant? They seem to be similar sizewise and I have heard Ash can shoot from the outside.

I agree. There are only so many spots in the rotation. Doubt it was anything Crawford did. The staff may have decided Lancona could play a Cody-like role that would help rebounding and take pressure off of Dwayne in the post by drawing defenders out to guard against the 3.

Louisville's other guard looked very fast. I think Mike and Jordair will switch on and off Smith. Will they be able to sit? Our defense really suffered against NC State when either left the floor.

Do you find it interesting because you want to make your point that his coaching had nothing to do with the victory? If so, that is complete bull . If you have ever listened to him speak, he always gives all credit to the players and never takes any. Make no mistake, the coaching decisions made down the stretch won this game. Many coaches would have just let their team wilt and die. One other thing, the press workes because of the element of surprise. We dont have the personnel to press on a regular basis.

Actually, with 8 min. to go, I felt the same way. But, the at the end of this game, Crews channeled Majerus, and it was beautiful!

He has an approach to managing the game that is not very intrusive so for some like me it is hard to swallow at times when you are watching he game slip away. He got lucky tonight that NCST shot FTs as bad as us.

Is the recommendation to buy tickets from Barclays for Fridays game and then purchase as necessary for Saturday and Sunday? I am getting in Wednesday night so I do not think the package sold by SLU is worth it and the ticket office told me they will not be selling tickets to individual sessions.

That team was able to smash Teams that came in unprepared our were overlooking slu. No-one overlooks slu anymore so it's hard to destroy teams now even though were probably better then that team now

This is why I would rather lose the first game of the A10 tourney and let our younger players play more in that game. The tourney means nothing to us or to our seeding if we win out during conference play. I do think Crews is not playing AM enough.
I have been watching college basketball for quite awhile and I cannot remember a time where a team tanked a game for any reason. Maybe I am misremembering. Are you sure the tourney means nothing to us (presumably "us" = the players)? The players seemed pretty excited when they got to cut down the nets last year. I do not think Jim Crews is going to tell the senior class with the most wins in school history that he is going to sit them so they can lose and get more rest for the NCAA tournament.
