  1. Just to update some information on Tre Lee, the small forward from Hampton, VA. He's actually more of a slashing 2 guard. Stands 6'5" and has muscle. He was the MVP of a very difficult tournament over the holidays. Here's an exerpt from the news article from the paper.

"Bethel owed its victory to sharp 3-point shooting from Tre Lee, the most valuable player of Bethel’s bracket.....Lee knocked down 4 of 5 shots from beyond the arc and added two thunderous dunks en route to a 22-point night."

After watching him in person, I'd say he's a stronger Tommie but likes to take over when his team needs him. He'd be a good pickup for SLU.

Here's the link of the article.

  2. Found this reading about the high school I teach at in Virginia. We happen to play Bethel High School......Iverson's high school from Hampton, Virginia. The recruit's name is Tre Lee. He has three teamates on the team going to Clemson, Duquesne, and LaSalle respectively. Those three are all 6'7" or taller from the country of Chad.

"Also, Bruins' forward Tre Lee tells me that he's receiving strong interest from Saint Louis and Old Dominion. While Bill Weaver gets his most heavy interest from Brown."

  3. Baseball America believes SLU will finish dead last in the conference. The conference is split into two divisons, an east and west division.

Conference USA is a better conference but SLU fits better in the A-10. SLU couldn't recruit the players to compete in C-USA. They might be able to recruit the players to compete in the A-10.

George Washington is the team to beat. Dayton and Charlotte are also pretty good.

Baseball America says that GW will be the only tournament team.

SLU's coach, Bob Hughes' career record is 313-569. That's 250 games under .500. I've heard he's done a lot for the university but it may be time for a change in coach.

The problem with SLU is that the baseball facilities aren't very good. It would be nice to improve those but it's also near impossible to recruit the better players because you only have so many scholarships for such a high tuition school without being traditionally that good.

  4. I am student teaching right now at a school and got in a discussion with one of the basketball coaches, who happens to be a huge Mizzou fan. My question is, who would win, SLU or Mizzou?

I said SLU and he said Mizzou because of their athleticism.

    What do you guys think?

  5. I have yet to see a Billiken game in person but how would you guys compare Polk to other freshmen point guards around the country such as Clinkskales from Depaul and Ronald Steele from Alabama? Clinkskales to me looks a lot more aggressive with a nice left hand stroke.

Would you guys like to see Polk play more like Timmy Smith from East Tennessee St. or more like Josh Fisher where he walks it up the court like Sodeberg's or Temple's offenses?
