Since SLU is a 2-point favorite, then a victory should not warrant students going onto the court if SLU is victorious, correct?

As always at our official bar, Halsted Harp at 2138 N. Halsted, we will be cheering on the Billikens. Hope to see many Chicago-area alums out at the event!

Is the Chick-Fil-A on campus closing? I heard a few across the country on college campuses are and was wondering.

What are the potential game times for Sunday's games?
-
We are meeting at Halsted Harp tomorrow night for the game at 5:55pm!
I cannot get there until halftime. I need someone to be my point person as far as a basic setup there (Billiken table top heads, beads, etc.) I just need to meet someone tomorrow before the game to hand off the supplies. I am near Halsted and Madison in the West Loop.
-
Reminder that we will be hosting the game watches at Halsted Harp just as we did last week. It is located at 2138 N. Halsted. I will be out of town and unable to attend, but we should be having the alumni office take care of a few items for the SLU fans!
Have a great time and let's get that 7-seed!

Thanks for all who attended - this was the best game watch event I can recall and congratulations to the raffle winners! We now have a banner behind the bar and two pennants.
For future games, assume Halsted Harp Pub & Grill at 2138 N. Halsted is the place. The A-10 tourney start time next Friday, March 9th will be either 11am or 5:30pm and if victorious, play again Saturday at 12pm or 2:30pm.

Big crowd expected at Halsted Harp Pub & Grill at 2138 N. Halsted at 7pm.

Boise is a football-only member.
-
In these days, you aren't going to get an athletic department sustaining TV deal without football. Just ask Kansas and why they weren't asked to move conferences with arguably one of marquee teams in NCAA basketball - nobody pays much for NCAA hoops except for the tournament.
-
Unfortunately, the key to any conference is a TV contract and without football in a league, you will not be able to get a TV pact to keep the league afloat - keeping in mind that it has to pay for all the other olympic sports.
-
The marketing isn't the issue. For the teams that played at home last night, note these attendance facts:
1. Illini-played to 2,000 fewer fans than last weekend game
2. ND-played to 2,000 fewer fans than last weekend game
3. UConn-played to 6,000 fewer fans than last weekend game
All three of these schools played crappy teams last night in addition to SLU's opponent; still *no excuse* for students not to go.
There are too many anti-social students with their participation trophies at mommy & daddy’s house who don’t care about winning & losing who are going to college now and just don’t get out much.

We are having it Halsted Harp Pub & Grill at 2138 N. Halsted. More to follow......

We are in the process of negotiating with some bars in the Lincoln Park area for getting them to be the official location for the Billiken game-watches.
I will be updating this message board plus our Facebook and Twitter accounts.

I like most things that the studnets and band do but it would be nice to see something original.
Band do something original?
Have you seen when the tubas go to center court to start the "This Bud's For You" song? What other school does that?
Have you heard the conches roar after a 3-pointer?

We were a ragtag but kick ass bunch back then, and all this time later Mike and the band are the best thing (aside from the team) about the SLU gameday experience. So for HavelJ, and Nick and Perry and Whitey and Steck and all the old timers who started the thing, this Bud's for you. And Bonwich, you wouldn't believe how pissed off some of those old trumpeteers were when we kicked them upstairs to the blue hair seats. They were bad, and we were the new thing. Mike B. is sort of like Letterman, he just keeps putting out good product all these years later.

I just think that the "running on the court" is overused and should only be like back in the day when, for example, a #1 team is a 20-point favorite and lose on the road. Act like you deserve to win and been there before.
Plus NCAA basketball rankings really don't mean a damn' thing anymore (or ever, for that matter.)
