Thank God for short memories. I remember when the consensus on this board was that running off players was sleezy and unethical. Now, it's good for the kids. Who would have thought? There are four at UConn this year and there were four at Colarodo last year. I am sure people could find more examples if they felt like doing the research. I don't.

Don't you think it was Majerus using Micklasz to pressure WIU? So it backfired. Harrelson may have truly wanted close to home until the big boys started calling. Frank C. is a big Kentucky fan. It'll be interesting to get his take tomorrow.Hey I didn't lie and use a columnist to get out of my NLOI. I wasn't the asking people in St Louis to apply pressure to WIU because of my plight. I didn't turn my back on the one person that believed in me originally. That is what Josh Harellson did. I was giving this kid the benefit of doubt, he proved me wrong.

Bears will probably get him. SLU and St. Marys have been told no thanks.Ben is on campus today visiting Missouri St.
Hopefully he likes what he sees.

Only if SLU creates their own Hall of Fame is Majerus currently a HOF coach. You can bluster all you want but 450(+-) wins does not equal HOF material. It's also unlikely he'll get to 600 which would represent a very low entry bar.A buffoon...Wow!!! I guess we can count you in the category with the minority of Billiken fans who wished Soderberg was still coaching SLU. Frankly, I think your use of that term for a future HOF HC is way off base, and I think with the recruiting that Coach Majerus has done thus far, you should be taking back that term very soon.

Since he actually has(as yet) not been charged with a crime, it would be difficult to take his scholarship away with that as the reason. While the old saying "where there's smoke, there's fire" is generally true, actually having a conviction is good if you decide to punish someone.Scholarships aren't just free... Whether on academic or athletic... there are certain rules you have to abide. It is a privelage and not a right.
So he didn't KILL anybody. He messed up, and if he wants to continue he should have all the right to do it, but not at the University's expense.

Should Majerus and Rickma talk? I am sorry, but hell no. I stood behind Brad for too long. Not only was he a terrible recruiter, but also he was the worst practice and bench coach we have had since Ekker. It was the dirty little secret that none of us wanted to admit because Brad is such a good guy. We wanted him to succeed. Did anyone ever feel comfortable with a set play that Brad had drawn up coming out of a TO?
It is not only that we don't have talent, but also they don't know how to play the game properly. I think there is more talent than we see on this team, but they really don't know how to play right. Rick can't fix that overnight, but I think it will get better quicker than we realize. The ones who do know how to play got it at the high school level. They didn't get it from Brad. Don't give me that Ian crap. He made is jump as a player when he was playing with the Greek national program. This team needs practice, lots of practice.
On the topic of running off players........ Deal with it. If you have a problem with it go become a fan of a D3 team. Wash U has great program. They are excellent students and many of the players are even better people. If you want to win big at this level you can't have roster spots filled up by guys who can't perform. Please, save your self-righteous indignation. If you can't play at this level you shouldn't have a scholarship on this level. None of you have ever bitched about a student losing his academic scholarship when the student couldn't perform at the level required.

26-9 is 37 games? Duh. Math major?I'm confused as how 26-9 is even possible. That is 37 games. We only play 30 regular season games. Even with 3 games in the conference tourney you are predicting us to play 4 games in either the NCAA or NIT?

Odds are he'll do it before Brad Soderberg who made the same statement for the Bills.Nobody hates mizzou more than I do but you have to admit Anderson is a very good coach. He got his UAB team to the sweet sixteen. Given a little more time recruiting players to a high major and playing in his system he has a chance for real success.
-
maybe he figures ifhe "drops" Duke & Wisconsin, they'll offer him a scholarship.Mich., SIUC, Louisville, and SLU.

hasn't spent the day talking about the Gerry Fraley blurb in his column in the PD today about Majerus' turnover in players during his time at Utah.
-
Add Wisconsin as the seventh listed. Also, although he did not mention SLU, he said the list is not completely closed.
-
however, he does have a lot of players leave his programs. I'd like to hjear how that is reconciled with those that say you shouldn't run kids off. He does.
-
told the coaches where he was going the day before. Also, an awful lot of people gave BS a much worse grade for the season than the "A" he gave himself.
-
today that Leon Powell is visiting Missouri this weekend? Isn't he prep school bound?
-
on Billy Donovan's staff at Florida. Big time recruiter.

McKinney and Grimes were coveted by many on this board, both out of high school and when there was speculation they might transfer. Maybe not by you, but you're just one opinion among many. Romar and UB thought they were plenty good.
-
Do you all think this interview was impromptu? I doubt it; in which case it was a very fair, but tough, question where UB had time to reflect. and no, I'm not Rennie Knott or Randy Karraker. Both are dumb@sses.
-
Who said SLU should be a consistent top 50 program? Probably some putz like GOPBilliken or such. Certainly not anyone of prominence with the wherewithal to navigate this mission. Correct?
-
and Northwestern, from a sports standpoint, is just an afterthought. The proximity of many Big 10 schools to Chicago is much more significant than Northwestern being in Evanston. Granted, academically, Northwestern is important to the Big 10 but not athletically. Your thinking is too provincial.

-
Swopshire said his top two are Cincinnati and Missouri.
-
he was # 478 on your list of the 600 recruits SLU should offer. Are you now back-pedaling?
-
Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Tennessee.
-
Rivals didn't show any offers.
