Yeah, yeah, who cares about Mizzou. Or we spend too much time ragging on Mizzou. Whatever -- this is funny!

Glad you are a bit of a Latin scholar bonwich.
Eight years of Jesuit education. (And the high school part was before corporal punishment was considered anathema. )

Wait, what? That's the exact quote that I use as the very first thing I give my students in my food writing class at WashU. Cool.

Okay. I counted. The video showed three jump shots going in. A bunch of nasty dunks (particularly like the French throw down) but only 3 jumpers. I'm not sure any conclusions can be made from 3 jump shots. Fun video yes. Conclusive no.
That being said we already know we have long range jump shooters with decent collegiate track records in Roby, AD, Bishop, Johnson, Welmer and maybe Graves (small sample size).
Looks like French is a lefty.
Well, we did hit a couple of layups. That's already an improvement.

Thanks! I could have sworn there was a matching jacket, but as I think about it, the one guy I remember wearing it all the time had a fairly bright color of solid blue jacket.
However, I did find this -- I'm "checking" on color varieties.

Does anyone have a link for those hideous, gaudy, wonderful Billiken-blue large-checked suits that I used to see at the games occasionally, especially sitting courtside?

I wondered that too, and have for years, because I was always under the impression that the coach can't step onto the court. Apparently he can:
QuoteArt. 2. A 3-foot line shall be extended in both directions from the sideline, so that the coaching-box restriction is evident.
I read this that he can walk out three feet. No?

Just for conversational purposes, here are the top 10 teams according to games played v SLU. I'd take any of them, yeah, including Drake and Bradley instead of NC A&T, Chicago State, Eastern Illinois, Samford and Sons, etc.
Drake 83
Cincy 78
Tulsa 74
Bradley 70
Louisville 67
Wichita State 64
DePaul 62
Memphis 58
SIUC 56
Marquette 54
Dayton is next at 53
(We have played our local Wash U team 63 times but they aren't on this list for obvious reasons)
I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to get at here (not questioning your motives -- just not sure of the intended point), but the numbers on at least eight of those teams are so high because they were conference games.

Joe, that is awesome!!! We just finished SLU 101 for my daughter who will be a freshman. I can hope that I am so lucky to have any of us remembered/honored in this way.
I see a prime candidate for head of the SLUnatics in 2018 or so. Grew up with entrepreneur parents, and clearly has genes that make her smart as a whip. Student tickets will soon have a long waiting list.

“When it got to the point when I retired (from playing), I knew I had a lot of information I could pass on to that next generation – the kind of information I wish I had growing up,” said Justin Love, 38, who was hired at Mascoutah late Tuesday. “It’s not just about playing. There’s also the mental side to basketball that can give you an edge.”
Shouldn't we all be Justin Love is freakin' 38 years old. Jesus Freakin' Christ.

They should change their name to the Opioids -- they'd have JeffCo recruiting locked up.
They wouldn't even have to think about a mascot.
Edit: Instant home-and-home with SIUC.

This story should be oft repeated, first because it's arguably a presaging of the horrid administrative oversight in Columbia that culminated in the demonstrations, and second because SPUMAC.
24 hours in a summer. Some sources now say it was all at Barton CC, but this one is even more of an indictment of Mi$$ouri.

12 hours at Barton, nine hours at BYU through distance learning, and "three hours more in a study-by-mail course from a college in Colorado." And no one in the compliance department even raised an eyebrow, or it they did, it was quickly smacked down by a higher-up.
Tell your children as a cautionary tale.

Well the other Ricky was an issue also now that you mention it but honestly if you have a problem a couple of times you probably have had problems that never got caught.
They only have had questionable academic sleight-of-hand with players named "Ricky." Otherwise they're clear.
There. I fixed it for myself.
