  1. I thought we were playing at Chaifetz?

I'm not sure why the channelsurfing/ATDHE options wouldn't be available just because the game is on HDNET. I bet there will be plenty of streaming options. If I knew how, I'd stream the game from my TV to the computer, but I'm an idiot when it comes to that technical stuff.

Oh, we are? Gotta be honest, i've just barely skimmed the threads due to my depression of losing and a busy weekend and thought i saw people bitching about scotttrade. If we are at the fetz, i feel much better about being able to watch. Still gonna search online for it. The fact that they don't have a Watch Now link on the AD site always worries me.
  2. Anybody know if there is an HD Net stream online? I've started looking and not having a lot of luck, but i know some sites out there have to stream it. According to the AD site, this is the channel it will be on. I'm pretty confident there won't be the usual streaming available. I was always told we could not stream online due to limitations at the ScottTrade. But if the TV station is streaming, that is a different story. Still can't believe we're playing in that freakin building.

  3. I mean the new season that is the Atlantic 10 Tournament!

I'm really impressed by how the Billikens matured throughout the 2009-10 season — especially once Cody Ellis, who is a KEY piece of the puzzle, finally arrived. They went 5-3 ON THE ROAD in a conference which, this year, is on par with some of the BCS conferences. I never would have thought they'd win 20 regular-season games and 11 A-10 games.

But what could have been! Had Ellis been eligible all season, the Bills could have gone 12-2 (losses to Northwestern in Chicago and at Georgia) and IN the NCAA Tournament already.

See you on Friday, March 12 at 1:30 p.m. CST.

Already got the final DVR'd. Noon on Sunday...CBS. Can't wait!!
  4. So you're saying that most professional games involving non St. Louis or non-midwest teams are unable to be seen here in St. Louis?

From what I've seen with Direct TV, if somebody charges you to watch the game, it will be blacked out on the standard packages. I've been burned continuously when games are on one of the northeast stations but also on ESPN full court. Black out everytime. It's bull****. you are still paying for the service, why do you now need to pay extra to see programs you should have already???
  5. Fortunately, that program is in great shape right now, and any change in the AD shouldn't really impact it.

I disagree. My understanding of the AD is that he is essentially in charge of all things athletic and he reports directly to the university president. He has probably over 100 employees in his department if I had to guess. While he may not have control over Rick's salary or the decision to use chartered flights, the entire athletic department is his repsonsiblitly. And, IMO, the details are just as important as the big picture. The jury is still out on Chris May. I applaud the (presumably) new strategy to bring students to the games and his ability to identify the catering service just wasn't working. But how about public handling (or lack thereof) of the charter issue, the continuous problems with radio and/or video feeds of the game, and all the 100+ complaints you can find on this board if you surf though it? Some may say Majerus runs the show, but in reality, he controls little to nothing of the overall perception and direction of the SLU athletic department.
  6. Currently isn't there. Eff. Channelsurfing it is, I guess....hopefully....

Don't get your hopes up there. channelsurfing generally uses the same feed as Slubillikens, so it's probably all or nothing. I don't see anything on the X official site either. Gametracker links but that is it. I just can't fathom that arguably biggest game of the year won't be available online.
  7. I could care less if Metz is here or not. I don't get offended by his posts, but i know some do. In all honesty though, I think Steve should watch himself. This guy is a college graduate and presumably a member of the workforce. It is not healthy and/or normal to take this vendetta across the web onto multiple sites. And he's not even flaming. He's using his real credentials and stating his true feelings. The guy has some MAJOR issues.

  8. oh eat a dick. not you, those ######ing buttholes. this is flat out AIDS, i'm pretty sure i paid for a whole season and now i get this horseshit. makes me livid.

I hear ya man, CSTV is a joke and it frustrates the hell outta me. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Paid the 7.95 for the "Pay per view event"...guessing that's why it's not streaming free. Seems to be working.

  9. And, with all due respect, it isn't a "private" issue (because it's been so rampant in the media). So we shouldn't wait for a "private" response. If Moser was the face for this meeting, someone should have asked him, if for no other reason than to demonstrate that the issue is important to more than the media folks who keep writing about it.

If someone would have asked this time, the potential outcomes were:

    1) PM answers the question.

    2) PM says "that's not my area," in which case the questioner could have asked that the question be elevated to someone who could answer it, either on the spot, next time or via some sort of communication in between. Any number of attendees would also have then had the opportunity to note their discomfort with the public statements and journalists' writings, the lack of response from the U. and the poor perception it might leave in some people's minds.

Agree Bonwich. Totally disappointing that nobody brought it up. I almost find it unfathomable. But...i'm out of town and can't really say much, so I'll leave it at that.
  10. Just checked Channel Surfing and they list nothing for tonights game. :(

A good rule of thumb is if it is listed on Slubillikens.com, it will most likely be streaming somewhere. Until they get there act together and actually secure the feed, chances are it will be on channelsurfing. Slubillikens lists the game as having video tonight.
  11. Winning out is not realistic. SLU v. Dayton at Dayton. They will physically beat on us and the refs will swallow the whistle. We just don't have the horses to play in one of those Big 10 style games. Plus, we play so many quality opponents to close out the season that we can't expect our young team to come out and play to the best of their ability each night. They are going to poop the sheets somewhere along the line. I'd be the happiest guy to be wrong but my realistic expectations are to finish strong, get deep into the A10 tourney and then hope the NIT selection committee views us favorably based on the 2nd half finish.

I have to agree. Saturday was a HELL of a game and showed what this team can do. But I just can't fathom us going up against the best the A-10 has to offer the next few weeks and come out without a loss.

The problem this team has is that we rely way too heavily on the 3. We have some shooters, but those shooters can have crappy games. How many times have we seen our guys just go ICE COLD? Since more or less the beginning of conference play, I just don't feel we've had a balanced game. Willie was awesome at SJU (or was it LaSalle..can't remember), but that is about all the post play we've had in a month. Until we can beef those guys up down low...and our guards make it a point to get them the ball...I just don't think we can be real consistent.

  12. I guess the word beat when immediately followed by the word off has connotations that almighty filter finds vulgar and nasty. It was intneded to read "we tend to get beet off the dribble although I spelled beat correctly in the first post.

hahaha...now that is funny. Never would have guessed that one.
  13. The great Blizzard of '10 is really dimming my hopes for an upset of UD on Saturday. Hopefully they escape its grip today and get back to some sense of normalcy, ie their own bed and to practice in friendly confines of the Chey. Does anyone know if they would've practiced on Wed or could've? If not and Thursday is travel day, if they're lucky according to the weather meisters, they may have only Friday to prep for UD. Tough... real tough. Also, did someone mention this game's on ESPN?

I think they'll get back in time, but preparation is going to be minimal. My only hope is that they have gym access in Philly and are just bonding/practicing... and SHOOTING FREE THROWS. I like our chances this weekend. And yes, the game is on ESPNU. I get it here on Comcast, but I don't know about other providers.
  14. I really have to agree with RM about the amount of time SLU's players are missing class. It sounds like they have literally missed half of their classes this semester. Just for this latest trip to Philly they will probably miss an entire week of classes. Assuming professors aren't giving these guys a break, then we better have some really smart players because catching up for a week of lost classes is tough. Hope we don't lose anybody to grades this semester.

SLU and the A-10 have to do something about the league schedule. Maybe more Saturday followed by Monday games? Rick is right, the A-10 is a good league but geographically it is not a good fit for SLU.

Rick is right that is sucks to miss class. But guess what....WE'RE IN A BLIZZARD!!! If the Blizzard was in BF midwest, it'd be the same. What, are they gonna walk back from Evansville with 2 feet of snow?

The fact is that Rick is quickly becoming a major ****** in my book. I really think the guy can coach and I really like what's he done with the program. But I'm struggling to deal with his constant BS.
