  1. I think Too has become an actual Billiken fan. That little run we had converted him...if I remember correctly he was even seen defending us on the tigerboard. Now he has realized what he has become and he hates it. He is grasping at straws trying to find another way to start arguments (using his real name..who gives a $hit?). He had to take a hiatus from the board in order to try and cure himself of the billiken addiction and this was his pathetic excuse. His Tigers are going down the crapper and the Billikens are looking better and better. He doesn't know how to deal with it. The first step to curing yourself is admitting you have a problem, Too.

  2. "As she has stated, she never personally seen any of the money transactions between Clemons and the Mizzou staff."

If she was lying about this whole ordeal to begin with, why would she tell the truth about this one detail? She lies about acedemic fraud, she lies about Ricky having money, she lies about him getting free clothes, then all of a sudden she tells the truth and says that she never actually saw the money exchanged? I don't think so. She doesn't have much, if anything to gain by lying. In fact, if she is lying, she is risking a lawsuit, loss of respect, and her career future. It just doesn't make any sense to make this whole thing up. And based on Ricky/Q's PROVEN behavior, it is not that hard to imagine this happening. Face it, Mizzou is in some trouble and who knows how far this is gonna go.

  3. Interesting article; thanks for the link. If what this woman is saying is true, Missouri is in some SERIOUS trouble. It says anytime Ricky needed money, he would just stop by the Hearnes and come out with $100. That is absurd. Three meals out a day with one being at a nice restaurant?! My parents were fairly generous with supporting me through college, but there was absolutely no way I could eat out 5 times a week, let alone the 21 that she is alleging!! Ricky was getting a lot of money from somebody; the question is who is gonna take the fall?

  4. My god, will this stuff ever end?! I really have to wonder how much longer Quin is gonna have a job. I mean, it seems every week the Missouri basketball team or one of its members is causing an infraction...that is not acceptable. It does seem most of them are minor, but after awhile they start to add up. Who knows what he isn't getting caught for. And for arguments sake, if he is getting caught for everything, then Q must just be too stupid to coach at this level. We don't see other universities getting weekly national negative publicity. As long as I can remember, the side bar on ESPN.com's bball page has had some reference to the mizzou program. The fans and administration up in Boone County should be getting fed up and need to kick him to the curb.

  5. Intersting stuff. Looks like the dominos may start falling pretty soon. I really wonder who the other 4 schools were. I seriously doubt it, but do you thinnk SLU could be one of them? It would make no sense for us to join a league like that, but stranger things have happened i suppose and it does seem like CUSA is getting ready to make a move...

  6. I agree, I think Butch is underestimating Drejaj. I think he played very well for a freshman (especially a billiken freshman) and there is no sign that he cannot improve greatly. He showed a large amount of improvement just over the course of the season, imagine what another year or two can do for him. He's got some speed, appears to have a decent shot, he's tough as nails and he can move the ball around. If he stays consistent and works hard, there is no stopping him from being all-conference.

  7. Torch, I agree with you. I think everybody has been underestimating Josh. From all accounts he as been working his a$$ off in the rec center this summer and I believe it was Bart who said he could hang with JLove and Hughes when they were playing. He appears to be the stongest guy on the team and we know he has some good hops for a 6'2 gaurd. He has shown flashes of penetrating skills and a decent shot. I think if Josh can harness his skills and leave everthing on the court game after game, he could be the player this teams needs.

  8. I would really like to know how Husak is looking. Has he show any improvement since the All-star game? Can he hold his own whatsoever against the competition he is getting at the rec? As always, reports are always appreciated from this out of state fan!

  9. I think Chris is a huge part of this team and he will be counted on for various reasons next season. But to think that he could become a Mo Jeffers is a bit of a stretch. Mo is arguably the most athletic player we have had on this team since Larry. He could dribble, jump, and shoot....and was an eventual second round draft pick. Sloan is a tenacious defender and can hit a few shots, but he cannot jump out of the building like Mo could. Being so tall, Sloan can easily get above the rim, but his vertical is not that great (I have seen him in the warmups, as Roy has pointed out before, and IMO he seems to put forth more effort that I would expect a 6'7 man to). I also have not seen that he has the ability to create his shot and hit the consistant jumper in traffic...Mo could. Again, I really like Sloan and think he will start the entire year, but he will not be the player Maurice was. (But i would love to be wrong about that!)

  10. I lived in the Drake just last year and really think it would be a shame if the university destroyed it. The apartments were probably the best place to live around campus for the buck. And it was very clean and newly renovated. I do not see how aquiring and demolishing the Drake is essential to building the arena in the proposed area. There are several blocks of run down buildings and warehouses that could easily accomodate the arena plans.

  11. Boy, I wish I was still on campus to check out those games. It seems like you have been over there to see a lot of the scrimmages, how is Husak doing? Sounds like he is there a lot and working on his game. With competition like Brown and Tatum, I'm sure he's getting some good practice and finding out what its gonna be like next year. Has he made any progress over the last month or is he still looking like a major project? Thanks a lot for the reports!

  12. Finally, something to be excited about. I know...its just one game, but we haven't had a whole lot to be excited about with this recruiting class. Not only did Ian lead his team in scoring in a big game, but he stepped it up a notch when he had to. His coach told him to make a difference this game and Ian accepted the challenge and rose to the occasion. I think Ian could be a major contributor this year.

  13. About 2 years ago, I was working for catering while i was still in school. We would be responsible for serving the team its meals before games. Generally, it was a chicken dish with potatoes and vegetables. Sometimes we would serve a pasta dish. As for the rest of the time, the players could be seen eating in the cafeterias...which doesn't exactly have the healthiest of foods. I remember Hienrich always being in the pizza line my sophmore year. However, I'm sure that we are getting on the kids about eating healthy. That is a very important part of staying fit and maximizing energy.

  14. There are obviously some very talented players on this team. The fact that they are finishing so low probably has to do with the fact that they have never played together before. They also may have the typical US mindset that we are better than everybody else so we don't have to try. I'd have to disagree with you Roy that the teams final placement is an indication of the skill. The main reason being how the US team faired in the olympics and other recent world games. We used some of the most talented players in the NBA on those teams and could not win...we actually got embarrased at some games. But, I do think that those "dream teams" talent was as good if not better than any of the competition.

  15. I also think that Fish could emerge as a major contributer next year. Over the past few years, he has shown he has the ability to get to the hole and hit the mid range jumper. He has a great move where he cuts across the court and pulls up at the free throw line...almost always makes it. The problem is, he picks and chooses the games when he wants to be a factor. I think with Marque gone and the leading scorer slot open, he may be the man and step it up. The guy is jacked and i've seen him dunk before, so we know he's got hops. I really think he has the ability to be a force next year...
