  1. Thanks for clearing that up Kshoe (note sarcasm). I think most people with an ounce of intelligence know enough not to take what is said on this board as fact. What would we talk about if we didn't have speculation, thoughts on recruiting prospects, and rumors to spread? This would be a pretty boring board and probably not exist today. If you don't think Price will come here, fine, but don't call it a stupid conversation...

  2. Why spend time thinking about the direction the Bills are heading in? It is obviously UP. We've made a post season tournament 2 years in a row...when's the last time that happpened? We have argueably the best recruiting class in our history coming in next year. Our coach has been called a great coach by many.

I'm am well aware the world keeps spinning regardless of Jeff Gordon. I probably won't even remember this article in two days (i didn't even remember I started this thread until an hour ago). But the fact remains that, IMO, he is putting out false information and casting his home town team in a condesending light. I don't like that and I never will.

I don't think anybody on this board is happy with our sixth place finish. But the fact remains that if we hit 2 more free throws at Arizona and get a few more buckets to fall elsewhere; we're at 20 wins. We've made it to the second round of the NIT after beating the top team not to make the NCAA out of the Big Ten. This is hardly some sort of miracle run. That article annoyed me and I posted about it. At least it wasn't a Tiger post...

  3. Why get over it? Gordon writes a condescending article about my favorite team college or pro. I'm going to get pissed when anybody, let alone Gordon, writes that stuff. He says we are happy to get to the NIT, but Mizzou is pissed because there ultimate goal is to win a national championship. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't some of Soderbergs first words as coach "my ultimate goal is to win a national championship"?

Sure we're not the best team, we're not athletic, whatever the case may be. But we strive to be the best and we have made the financial commitments to take us there. And unlike you're favarite team, cheesy, we have done it in a respectable manner and one the entire city of St. Louis should take pride in. We are have almost won 20 games and finished in the top half of one of the best conferences in the country. How can we still be this little team that could? THAT is what pissed me off.

  4. I just checked out the program guide on DirecTV.com and saw that Dream Job will be airing tomorrow at 6. I also didn't see anything on slubillikens.com about ESPN2. Where did you see that it would be on TV tomorrow? (maybe I just missed it since I was just glancing)

  5. I agree. Not that I think Brad is a saint and wouldn't suggest to a player that he may be happier somewhere else, but because it just wouldn't make sense to lose John at that point. We needed him desperately last year with nobody able to bang down low except for Brown. To be honest, from what I remember of John, I thought he could have developed into a nice player for us.

  6. Can a sports columnist for a newspaper in a major U.S. city really be this dumb and naive? Conference USA is having one of the best seasons in it's history and has the possibility to get a record 6 bids. I really doubt we will get six, but 5 is very possible. Does Gordo really think that the next 2-3 teams in one of the top conferences in the country will not get an NIT invite? We're freakin 5 games over .500!! Just 2 weeks ago we were a bubble team according to some of the top media outlets. I usually don't get annoyed by this stuff, but for Jeff Gordon to make a living writing crap like this makes me sick.

  7. Does anybody know if our tourney games are going to be on TV other than Charter? I remember the ESPN+ package used to carry the games, but haven't heard anything about that yet. I like the fact that we are a night game, i just hope i can watch it.

  8. I've been pretty busy the past few days and haven't had time to keep up with all the posts. Now it's way too far out of control to read through all of them. My question is are there actual rumors going around about McKinney transferring to SLU (or anywhere) or is this just billikens.com posters thinking "what if"? Thanks in advance...

  9. You guys are always bitching about Mizzou fans that come over here and talk smack. This had nothing to do with Mizzou, but you all had to bring it up. Sure it's a rumor, but who the hell cares. People here are SPECULATING about our star recruit not having the grades to cut it at SLU. If I was TL, I would be very upset that the fans of the school I was going to are spreading this rumor about not cutting it. Then you blow up about a rumor that "Slick Rick" (as you all affectionately call him) may have impregnated a cheerleader. Take the comment for what it's worth and leave it at that.

  10. "Also, you can expect to see Clarke and Johnson in the rotation on a more regular basis according to Coach Beane"

Thank god! I know this topic had been widely discussed, but I'm glad to hear this. Obviously BS is realizing that we might need a few athletes in there to compete with big boys. And if they suck, at least it will put an end to these Varner vs. JJ arguments.

  11. Izik said close to the same thing in an article from the PD regarding the turnovers. I think it's a good point. Maybe the problem with this team is that our players are too smart. Instead of just playing and going with the flow, I think we may have a tendency to think too much. The more this turnover problem is drilled into them, the more they think about it. This causes hesitation in passing and shooting....which leads to blocks and turnovers. This team seems to do well when they are just playing and having some fun. Being in Nashville, i haven't gotten to watch too many games, but I can't remember ever seeing our players smile on the court. It just doesn't look they have a whole lot of fun out there and maybe that's part of the problem. I remember watching Carmello last year and it seemed he was always laughing and smiling about something....he went on to win a national championship. Obviously we don't have a Carmello and our team is a lot different, but I have to believe that the enjoyment he had on the court spread thoughout the team and helped win that trophy.

  12. 39 after three quarters? Sounds pretty good to me. Is Festus a pretty weak team? I guess I'm trying to figure out what to expect from Luke. I've seen he's had some very impressive games this year. But yesterday, i saw he was was shut down against DeSmet...a team that appears to be pretty good (at least from what you guys say). Does Luke dominate lesser competition but fall apart when the playing field is level? Or did he just have a bad game? I have no idea what high school hoops is like in MO...
