  1. It's really great to hear that our athleticism is being upgraded so much. That has definitely been our downfall as along as I've been following the Billikens. But what has happened to all the 4's? We seem to be picking up great gaurds, but our black hole last year was at the PF position. It appears as if it will be the same next year. Am I way off base here?

  2. Yeah, i don't think many people around here really thought we were gonna make the next round, but we were sure pumped for even being in the playoffs. You're right about the Titans. When I left for SLU in '98, the VOLS were the only think to talk about in town. Now they are playing second fiddle to the Titans. The downtown area around the arena and stadium is great. Nashville really is the best place I've ever lived.

  3. I don't know much about the USBL. Is this a league some pro's/future pro's play in after college but before the draft? There were some very high profile players in that first round that got drafted after Kern (i.e. the POY Jameer Nelson). Is that just for show, or do these guys actually suit up?

  4. Ok, maybe you only responded to this thread in jackass fashion. I read your response to the sorority thread afterwards and thought the same thing. Addmitedly, that one was not as bad.

I guess since I've never bothered to respond to your dribble and since today was a slow day here in system support, I decided to post and catch up on subject matter. It seems most of this board has given up trying and just ignore you. Sorry guys, I will try and do the same. Sorry for ruining this thread SLU72.

  5. Well, for clarification, I have never said we're not obsessed with Mizzou.

These are MAJOR stories we talk about on here. Most of this board pays taxes that fund YOUR education. If you are from Missouri, people associate that with the University of Missouri (just like when I say I'm from Nashville, I get questions about the Vols).

The fact of the matter is that most of the things we talk on here are pulled from PUBLIC NEWS sources (notice "most"). In a lot of cases, it's national coverage. Added to that, is the fact that it happens in the same state as our University. Missourians should be ashamed of some of these accusations. And from what I see on here, most of them are. So we talk about it.

Like I said in the last message, i usually let you ramblings go because the are well provoked. But today you have provoked ALL of these arguments and have been a true troll.

  6. Dude, get a life. I usually let you go because I think some of the guys on this board go a little over board and you have some valid points sometimes. But this post and most of your posts today have been worthless. Yes, it's a SLOW day for Billikens. Yes, we enjoy Missouri's pain and suffering (at least a majority of us). And yes, there seems to be a lot of Tiger talk on here lately. But since we aren't in the news on a daily basis for inappropriate behavior, there is less to talk about. If you're a Mizzou fan, post on the Tiger board. But don't come over to a place that has obviously had enough of you and try an be Mr. Sarcastic /High and Mighty

  7. I don't think it is as much that these kids don't WANT to go to college, but that the lure of millions of dollars is so intriguing. I know when I got out of high school, the last thing I wanted to do was go through more school. But I wanted to persue a certain career and in order to do that, i needed a college education. And even though I knew the direction I wanted to go in, i still needed my dad breathing down my neck to get those apps out and sign up for the ACT/SAT. If I was some stud H.S. basketball player and had all these so called "friends" coming up saying i could be a millionaire in just a few months, that would be hard to turn down. We forget that these kids are only 17-18 years old and for the most part, don't have a clue about what goes on in the "real world". IMO, the NBA needs to step up and put some restrictions on these agents/scouts because they are really screwing up some kids lives. If they don't cut it in the League, they are left without an education, without any money, and no "free" ticket to get that education(i.e. a basketball scholly). At least with a year or two of college, they will get some further education as well as see how they fare against good competition. And I personally think it would make the NBA a little better. I love basketball, but watching an NBA game can be painful.

  8. Yeah, it was a great 2 periods until it all fell apart. This town in going crazy about the preds. We're definitely not a "hockey town", but it's slowly getting that way. I know all the tickets were gone (except for a few single seats) the day after the schedule came out.

  9. So what you're saying Thicks is that since Tommie is black and from East St. Louis his parents do not stress the importance of his education and he has not been nurtured in a way that would promote intellectual growth?

Maybe it's due to the fact that the kid is 17-18 and is more interested in chicks and haning out with his buddies than studying for an exam. We can speculate all we want, but we shouldn't start calling people racist (which you have done on more than one occation)or say a kid doesn't have good influences because his family doesn't make 6 figures.
