  1. Ok, dude...I've had enough of this crap. You're gone for the whole summer and the conversation on this board has been pretty good (for the most part). You come back and pick up right where you left off. Didn't school just let in? Don't you have friends to meet up with, beers to drink, parties to attend? Your first post was obviously written to get a rise out of us. Then you come back and arbitrarily name off a bunch of arena's you've never been to that are supposedly nicer. Then we call you out on that and you say you mean for atmosphere. How the hell is Censeco Fieldhouse better atmosphere for college ball? Do they play college games there? How about MSG (other than a few big St. John's games)? The only times you've seen MSG are on TV when the place is sold out for NIT games. Of course it looks awesome...what wouldn't?

Bottom line is you're not here to discuss the billikens. You're here to get a rise out of us and argue with Billiken Roy. I think it's time to get a life, man...

  2. There isn't a doubt in my mind that Reggie can shoot. I attribute his low shooting % to the fact that he had to take soooo many last year. Nobody else wanted to shoot, so he was forced to throw them up. With his pretty stroke, i think it will be much improved this year. I also look to DC and Drejaj to start popping them. Plus, hasn't it been said that Polk can light it up?

  3. Good point, A-Bomb...what is this based on? It would be nice if they had a little blurb to accompany the ranking. I'm just as hardcore as the rest of you when it comes to the Billikens, but with so many unknowns, I don't know if I would even rank us that high. I'll take it though!

  4. Thanks for the info Iggy...I hope it stays free through the basketball season.

Not too much learned from the interview. Cheryl did seem very enthusiatic and said she and Brad share the same vision for the program. She actually reiterated a few times how much her and Brad think alike...which is a good thing. The only thing that concerned me about the interview is when asked if she felt we would have trouble retaining Brad, she hesitated and kind of studdered. She came out with We HAVE to retain him, but she is obviously concerned. At least she knows we need to try and keep this guy.

  5. I think 1992 was also toward the end of when NBA players actually had some pride. Jordan, Bird, Johnson...those guys actually cared. The current teams talks about wanting to win, trying to win, etc...but there attitude on the court is much different. I truly think this bunch has enough talent to win, however with no team chemistry or defense, all the talent in the world won't matter. Something has to happen or American basketball will become an embarrasment.

  6. I was talking to a buddy of mine about that last night. We concluded that they should start sending over the NBA champions for that year. Like they were saying on Sportscenter last night...most of these European teams have been playing together for years and are TEAMS. The guys we send over are more or less our best athletes and that's it. They can run, jump, and dazzle a crowd...but they can't beat a mediocre Italian basketball team. I think the Pistons would win the Olympics with ease.

  7. I think this whole issue just needs to go away (not on this board, but in general). This guy has done for cycling what no other person has ever been able to do...make it popular. Honestly, I couldn't care less about cycling and I think most of the country is with me. But what Lance is doing is making me take notice. I think it's amazing that he has been able to win so many TdF's and his performance in the mountains is spectacular. The guy has never failed a drug test and the only thing we have to go on is some jelous biker who has a vendetta against Armstrong. If he's doping, then he should deal with the consequences. But until there is solid evidence, these allegations are going to ruin the reputation of arguably the greatest American cyclist of all time. The Outside the Lines last night remined me of a Michael Moore movie...

  8. Anybody catch Marque in action the other night on NBA TV? I saw the first half and he looked pretty good. He got more minutes than anybody else on the court by a long shot. The spurs must really be giving the guy a look. I was just casually watching, but I didn't see any turnovers and he only missed one shot. Of course, the announcers were calling him Kirk Perry for the first quarter but what else is new. Somebody said Mo Jeffers would be playing for the Bulls, but I didn't see him make an appearence.

  9. I will hold out judgement on Tommie until we hear something straight from him. However, I think that if he signs with UNLV this week, that shows more about tommie as a person than analytical skills. He had no reason to publicly proclaim he was coming to SLU regardless of what others tell him...but he did. This was what...a week ago? If he pulls a full 180 and an commits to UNLV the next week, that just shows the kind of person he is. This is the kind of person I don't want in our program. I learned long before 17 the differences between right/wrong, lying/telling the truth, etc. If Tommie wants to go elsewhere, then that is his decision. But the way things appear to be going down, is what makes me sick. He hasn't even given his two favorite college coaches a call (Sodes and AT).

Again, i'm not bashing Tommie at this point. We don't know anything right now, but we'll see where it ends up.

  10. Agreed. I just can't stand the Lakers this year. They have an all-star team with an all-star coach and they are getting spanked by Detroit. They play with no team chemistry and they don't even look like they give a crap about losing. The L.A. Lakers epitomize everything that's wrong in the NBA...
