Adding the last two in 2014 so they can see what Notre Dame is planning to do doesn't make since unless they are hoping ND will join them on a permanent basis. Adding ND makes it far more attractive to television. If that happens we don't have a chance.
The west division would be Creighton, DePaul, Marquette, Butler, ND and X. They would go with an eastern school for the other spot and we would be left out.
Notre Dame has no interest in joining this league permanently. There is a TON more money for them in the ACC. I'm betting that they go ahead and join the ACC in 2013.

thanks.. but, we remain skeptical until Tuesday's announcement.
My cup is half full (of beer).

One hyphenated word - non-conference. Our non-con SOS would be very high.
Right, we would need to beef up our non-con schedule.
-
I'm looking forward to reading a statement from Chris May on this subject.
It would be nice to still play Butler and Xavier next year and add games with say Georgetown and Villanova.
-
Comcast in AL is listing the game on CSS (Channel 67).

The apparent 10 team push may just be smoke and mirrors to get more money. IE C7 says we want to keep the Big East name even if they don't really care. They say that so the other schools have to give them more $ to give up the name. They say they want only 10 teams knowing that the networks will want 12. They push that in order to get more money from the networks than they would if they came along quietly and just agreed.
From time to time, especially in February I like to listen to some Black artists usually that artist is Charlie Pride but perhaps this situation can best be summarized by the WuTang Clan, "Cash Rules Everything Around Me - C.R.E.A.M., get the money dolla dolla billz ya'll"
Growing up in Dallas I am a fan of Charlie Pride. My older bother graduated from Jesuit with his son Deion.

I think we should schedule Student Leadership University next year.... SLU vs. SLU. The problem with Student Leadership University's team is that although they have a lot of talent, they have too many guys who want to take over and not enough guys willing to be role players. They all want the ball in the final minute of a close game and they all want to take the last shot. They all want to be stars. You got 13 guys who all want to be captain of the team and they all complain about playing time.
Sounds like they need a coach who says "Starting is for high school"

Oh, I know what it is. It's in my lexicon next to "upper decker"
This '88 grad knows what an upper decker is...One of the benefits of having younger employees.

I feel less confident than I did a month ago but I think our inclusion will come. I think we are in the 12 but not he 10 though. I think it is therefore a question of when rather than if. That said, lips are tight around here all of a sudden so I have zero new info to support that opinion. Father Shanley was out of town all last week on conference business, so maybe we are close to real news.
Anyone know if the good Father Biondi was out of town last week on conference business?

-BigMac in your Delta Tau Chi name, just figured
I got it...Your post just made me think about burgers...Now I'm thinking about beer!

No, I ate fresh. McDonalds would be the last place you would find me. Smash Burger or 5 Guys yes, McDonalds no.

With GTown pushing for Richmond and Marquette pushing for Creighton it doesnt sound good for SLU if they expand to just 10. However I think if it goes to 12 we should be in good shape.
Why are those sons of ******* (Seinfeld reference) at Marquette pushing Creighton over us?

For those of you who think making the Top 25 is unimportant:
I live in Huntsville, Alabama and went to Subway today to grab a sandwich while wearing a Billiken shirt. I had a 10 minute conversation with the cashier about the Billikens initiated by him. That conversation doesn't take place if we aren't ranked. Casual fans review the Top 25, they don't care about RPI, BPI, or anything else that ends in I.

SMU is doing the coach in waiting thing with Brown and Jankovich. I don't think it is a good idea for numerous reasons. Guy A could tank so why would you retain a member of his staff? Guy A could get into some NCAA trouble? Guy B could bolt. This has mostly happened in CFB see UT and FSU.
So to make everyone happy here is our composite coach:
Great Recruiter
Great evaluater of talent
X&Os
Saleseman of the Program
Squeeky Clean
Won't use SLU as a stepping stone
Assistant at Name Program
Already has HC experience and success
Can win right away with the team we have
It think it be cool if we could find a guy that was assistant to 2 HOF coaches. Maybe was a player on a D1 National Championship team. A guy that would run a similar system to Majerus but maybe score a few more points. A guy we knew could match up against Stevens and Shaka. It would really be a coup if we got one of the guys that is garnering some publicity this year for National Coacoach of the Year. A guy that could get SLU ranked and win the conference. That'd be awesome.
I am 100% in agreement with the Army Officer.

Yep, we're giving up men's bball and putting our new arena in mothballs if we don't get in. Might as well close down the university and sell off the property, too.
Let's not put the arena in mothballs just yet, we can at least play CYO games there.

They're going to discuss A10 bids in a moment.

i believe to get that drum corps feel/sound that the usc marching band presents, we would need more drums.
Drums? What we need is a little more cow bell!

Don't listen to him, I heard he is Snookie's next door neighbor.

Well I happen to have a little extra time on my hands now-a-days to do some posting. I've been lurking, just not posting.
Crews was coaching the Purple Aces back when I was a student in the MCC days. He did a heck of a job back then, and is doing an even better job now. A10 COY is definitely in play.
Could you imagine the negative press SLU would get from not removing the interim tag and hiring someone else?
A month ago I agreed with the majority of the board in that we need some new young gun recruiter, but now I'm not so sure.
By the way, for those keeping track, I am a SLU grad
-
Crews and our Billikens are enjoying some national press, and Bobby Knight isn't at Indiana any longer. If we keep on this winning track and make a nice tournament run...I don't know if the Big 10 will have any openings, but there will be BCS conference openings.
Am I the only one concerned that we may not be able to keep him?
-
Why the delay?

Dang...I'm pretty far down the list, looks like I better start posting again!
Sounds like Crews has the job

Definitely in the running for post of the year!
