Whatever happened to the rumor of an impending story about McKinney and someone helping take the ACT or something along those lines? The rumor apparently had nothing to it or the Post chose not to run it. Wasn't that about 2 months ago?

DSL is great!!!!
Why anyone would fool with AOL is beyond me. I'm sure there are AOL users out there, but I'd recommend they look around for alternatives. For the money, you can do a lot better than AOL.

This was written before Virginia Tech and Miami were invited to the ACC. But it is still an interesting view this late in the process.

He said he is worried about the whole conference alignment thing. That comment concerned me. I was hoping he would be a little more upbeat.

Also, Rich Grawer and Earl Austin, Jr., are on KFNS this morning till 11:00 talking about anything and everything.

What does that do to everything, if this is true?

You're forgetting Tulane football to which the University just made a major committment.

I understand Matt McKeon was cut because he refused a pay cut. He apparently is not involved in soccer at this time and may have joined a family businness. Jason Cole and Paul Nagy are both with Syracuse.

On Tuesday evening around 5:40, Demitrius Johnson called into the Claiborne show on KFNS and went on a rant about the interview with Quinn than morning. He said he was really offended and that this was a huge insult. I did not continue to listen to the whole call so I don't know how it ended. I also did not hear the interview with Quinn. I did find it difficult to believe that Quinn could have said anything so outrageous that it would fire up Demitrius the way it did.
From what has been said, it sounds like the rumors of Mckinney's leaving may have come from Floyd and/or Demitrius. I wonder if Mckinney has even heard the comments directly. Likely, he heard someone's interpretation. Mckinney may not be in a position to think or speak for himself at this point.

According to ESPN's Andy Katz, the trips to the three schools by the ACC is a mere formality. The deal will be done in June (early?). Then other things ought to happen. Should be interesting.

If I read those messages correctly about the link to Creighton, I got the impression that the connection was related to the baseball coach. That sounds like a weak link, but maybe the baseball coaches really do have some influence.
Creighton has had more recent success in basketball and they have retained their coach. Travel wise, Omaha is half again as far from South Bend as St. Louis.

This is a quote from Andy Katz's article on ESPN:
"Marquette already has denied a report that Charlotte, Saint Louis, Marquette and DePaul would stick together and move as a block to another conference if Conference USA was poached by the Big East. Atlantic 10 Conference officials discussed expansion at a meeting last week. But if Conference USA or the A-10 went after any Big East leftovers, those two conferences could become too big."
So what's the real story?

How do you interpret this statement at the end of the article. I think he is saying he wants to broaden the range of teams in their league and would be in favor of the so-called Catholic league along with Georgetown and Villanova. If so, that would be pretty good support for a new league. How would you interpret the statement?
"At one point, there was the thought that the remaining footballs and basketballs would simply break away and the Catholic schools would form their own all-Catholic league.
But ADs at the Catholic schools seemed divided as to whether to take a financial risk to expand to the Midwest or become a Northeast corridor bus league, much like the MAAC.
Wegrzyn made it clear where St. John's stands on the issue.
"I think Villanova views itself as a national school, Georgetown views itself as a national school and we definitely are committed to having a national presence," he said.
"We want to play at the highest level." "

DePaul is not a Jesuit school!!! Hello Bernie!!! Why not check the facts? In any event, it's good to hear that those schools are sticking together.

I thought South Florida had football.
The last half of the article is a rehash of previous quotes and news. Hopefully, the first half of the article is an accurate reflection of current negotiations.
