Respectfully disagree with this, here are the numbers.

    FG% .576, Ft% .477, RB avg 4.1, assists 14, turnovers 62, PF 107 in 30 games, scoring avg 8.1.

As a freshman big who has had trouble with fouls early and not so much lately I would say those are good stats.  Are they amazing no but he is also only averaging 19 minutes a game.  Just saying they are good numbers and if SLU had that would be a big help no?  I mean French has very similar numbers and I feel he has had a good season or done well.  Especially according to most here.

but nba well?   i say no. a lot of players improve and play well.  but how many are truly nba good?   i say tillmon isnt there yet and his showing of "potential" isnt say jason tatum like enough to go on that alone.

but you are right on one thing.   i hate mi$$ouri.   and they deserve all the hate we can throw their way.   i would love for them to get in as say a 6 or 7 seed and get beat by some 10 or 11 seed first game.

Oh absolutely agree the NBA talk right now is very premature for him.  I really hope he continues to perform well and progress and is able to get to the league but I think next year is a possibility but again it would be a big jump for him.  Sorry didn't full understand your point my fault.  I know the hate for Mizzou runs strong here.  But I do appreciate your insight thanks.

a lot of people say that but that confuses me.  tilmon needs to show some consistent excellence if you ask me.   no doubt he has potential. but the only thing he is fairly consistent on is fouling.   not sure if going to play for all talk martin was the best thing for him.   if you think about it, he hasnt had a good setting to grow up in and learn in likely in his entire life.   i hope he does well, but.............

I would disagree with your take on Martin since most people have said Tilmon has actually done better than expected this season.  I get the Mizzou hate here but I feel he has progressed well this season.  Also not trying to start a pissing match about Martin and Mizzou.  Just that Tilmon I think has done well this season.

I live in between Hillsboro and Cedar Hill I will have to attend some games this season.

I traveled a lot last year and really wanted to go see Hillsboro and I will make it my mission this season.

I actually teach and coach at Hillsboro.  Definitely a fun team to watch play but compared to those other 3 teams they don't have the same athleticism.  With that said definitely worth watching a game or two if you can.

Different class. WG is in Class 5, Sikeston is in Class 4.

Class 4 was a gauntlet last year, as Vashon, Sikeston, Hillsboro, and St. Mary's were all in the same quadrant. Whoever came out of that was going to win state, and it was Vashon. It's a shame they were all bunched together because they had an argument as the four best teams in that division.

Class 5 only tested Webster Groves in the semifinals, with Kickapoo. They lose a lot with Jared Ridder having graduated, but CBC will be back and is going to be a lot to handle for at least the next three seasons. But I'll take WG's seniors over CBC's sophomores for now. Chaminade will probably be favored to get out of that district again, but I don't think they're going to challenge WG. There's no answer for Gordon (and to a lesser extent, Ramey). Anyway, if we assume the same structure for this year's brackets, CBC in the quarterfinals should be the biggest test to WG, who I think will repeat.

Sorry to get you a little side tracked.  But do you really believe Hillsboro is there with those other 3 schools?  Vashon and Sikeston was super fun to watch last year but I didn't think Hillsboro would be that high.  Good but not with those teams.  But I know you also see more basketball than I do for sure.  Thanks.

So have you made a single post that didn't mention your love for Mizzou, or not?

Post whatever you want. Just don't get all butthurt about being labeled a Mizzou troll when 100% of your posts are about how much you love Mizzou.

I'm not butt hurt go ahead call me a Mizzou troll won't bother me one bit.  ??

Have you made a single post that didn't mention being a fan of Mizzou? Do you really expect anyone here to believe your love for SLU and Mizzou is equal when 100% of your posts on a SLU message board mention Mizzou? Do you also join baseball message boards and then immediately start posting non stop about how you also love college basketball equally?

But you're right I should have professed my love for all things billiken before ever saying I like both SLU and Mizzou.

Well considering I have now mentioned twice that I would like for both teams to make the NCAA tourney I guess that is unacceptable.  I don't give a crap honestly what you believe or think I will continue supporting both no matter what.  You want to be butt hurt I came on here that's fine won't bother me.  Also how is talking two teams playing the same sport the same as two completely different sports?  Good try though.

It'd be one thing to make an occasional Mizzou-centric post on here. But when a majority of somebody's posts are either about Mizzou, about how one of our commits is going to defect to Mizzou, or how it's possible to be fans of both teams, you can't really get your feelings hurt for being called a Mizzou troll. Take this Slubills23 character here. He's made his first half dozen posts ever on this board defending his love for Mizzou.

Please do tell how I have defended my love for mizzou?

I'm a die hard fan of both. I don't frequent this board because I have a busy life but I follow both Mizzou and SLU just as hard. You gotta know your audience. When people start railing on Mizzou here, it's not my place to defend them here.  I just don't participate. I am more likely to defend SLU while on a Mizzou board though. Not sure why.

Both have their favourite jabs and both say you can't be fans of both. Doesn't really matter to me. I give money to both programs so I get to cheer for both

I agree.  I'm not defending mizzou here I just think it's funny.  Just like when Mizzou fans bad mouth SLU I find it funny because most of what is said is made up.  Like I said before hope both have good seasons and both make the tourney.

I tried to be a fan of both for a few years and couldn't. Still, I can buy the idea of rooting for one as your #1 team and being a more casual fan of the other as your #2 team. But when you feel the need to come on the message board of your #2 team and make all these insincere, passive-aggressive claims of liking both equally, you should expect some pushback. If all the Mizzou-first fans were at least up front about it, they wouldn't be welcomed into the fold as Billiken diehards, but they also wouldn't have to keep up the unconvincing denials when they're outed as such. It would be a lot easier on all of us.

Lol.  So because you can't do it anyone else is lying.  You win I hate SLU I hope you guys go winless and never get another decent recruit.  I mean damn mizzou fans can be bad but this is just to funny.  You have fun over thinking everything in your life.

If I asked you where you'd rather the #1 player in the nation commit to if he was choosing between Mizzou and SLU, who would you say?

Well again considering I like both so I would say either.  If you want me to say I prefer one to the other then go ahead.  I guess my dad was terrible for letting me watch both teams and enjoy watching both when they are good.

    It's elementary, Watson.

Well played sir!  Lol.  I truly am not from tigerboard but I am a big tiger fan and I am a SLU fan and I hope both teams get back to being good and in the tourney.  I just do find the absolute hate and crap talking that is going on here especially toward Martin to be funny.
