  1. The Billikens are 19th on the latest Sagarin rating. They will b favored by aboutt 20 over BG. It is early to put too much stock in the computer ratings but that said, I love it. Computers showed us love first last year. It will take beating a good team to gain the recognition of coaches n the press.

    History will repeat itself...

  2. Not to be critical of the coaching staff because I really like what they are doing, BUT when our 3-pt shooting is in the dumpster, why not give "point -a-minute man" Crawford and TL some playing time. With the way AM & RL are shooting blanks beyond the arc, I would like to see the two invisible FR, both of whom come to SLU with 3-pt shooter reps, get a chance before walk-on time.

I like Crawford's potential but putting up a point a minute is one thing but getting buckets when the game is in the balance is a whole different animal. Lancona will be good in time but appears to be a step behind Crawford currently. However if the shooting woes continues into a game we are clearly out of then I'm all for giving them a shot

  3. :You might need glasses for your height check because there is no fuoking way RA and DE are the same height. DE is listed at 6ft 6in which is a stretch with the Shaft fro for a guy who is really 6ft 5in. Point to reason...GG should be same height as DE but you realize GG is taller than DE yet both are listed as 6ft 6in. RA is taller than GG so that puts him at at least 6ft 7in which is what he is in his socks. Either way as long as he is doing his big man job he can be thought of as 6ft 4in for all I care. Eyes can lie when you sitting high in those stands!

Bboy, you are dead on. Have seen Evans and Agbeko in workouts together, and there is no way they are within 2 inches of each other. Grandy is taller then Evans, and Agbeko is clearly an inch to 2 inches taller than Grandy.

  4. If Doctor B is correct that the staff plans on using Agbeko as an instant contributor off the bench, I understand that to mean offensively. If this is so, a big being used in this manner would have to be a pretty good bucket getter if he is not being used as a 3 point specialist.

  5. I didn't get to see the SIU game or the exhibition. Can someone can a mini scouting report on Agbeko? Is he a physical player? Does he have legitimate height for a big? Etc Etc. I understand there isn't much to go on.

Agbeko from what I have seen so far and according to a couple players is a guy that can just flat out get buckets on the low block and facing up, with a great first step and above average ballhandler. Elite rebounder who can defend multiple positions. Appears to be 2+ inches taller then Glaze but is listed at 6'7". Considered by many on the team as the best one on one player in the program.

  6. Wisconsin is a pretty good team with Dekker leading the way, they had a solid win against Johnnies and were down by as many as 14 to a shorthanded Florida team before coming back to get the win. Kaminsky was a 3 point shooter primarily in the past but his game inside of 18 feet seems to be improved. But one has to take the quality of opponent into account regarding his career night.

  7. Deutschkind, there's no question that the Big 10 kept open their twelfth slot for a long time in the hopes of getting Notre Dame. But when they finally made their choice in 2010, Missouri seemed like a better option than Nebraska in most regards:

    • Better academics (Missouri has retained their AAU accreditation; Nebraska has lost theirs)
    • About 50% bigger (more students, more alums)
    • Better aligned with the Big 10's stated "southern expansion" strategy
    • Closer fit geographically
    • Existing Big 10 rivalry (Missouri-Illinois)
    • Much better basketball program
    • Better overall in most Olympic sports
    • Much better BTN market (The state of Missouri has triple the population of Nebraska)
    • And Mizzou was really, really eager
Nebraska had the better football "brand", but Missouri had/has the better program. Maybe Missouri's PR campaign backfired and the caused the Big 10 to skip over them; but if the Big 10 had a "do over" option today, they might make a different choice.

Anyway, my point is that conference expansion often takes unexpected turns. SLU is the best candidate for the Big East and I hope they get there, but only time will tell.
