  1. Don't forget about McBroom. We will have six new faces on the court next year assuming no one redshirts and we get one more commit this spring. I am sticking with my comment that with these six new players, we will have more talent, overall, than on last year's team. Talent alone doesn't win games (see the professional basketball team in Lexington, Kentucky), but with Crews and the returning players, plus a very senior group of leaders, I really like our chances in 2013-2014.

November cannot come soon enough. Let's just add Randy Onwuasor to this team and LOOK OUT!!!

I think you are correct for one reason--the returning players who played last year should be better with one more summer of weightlifting and hard work. The three new recruits all seem to have the potential to compete for playing time immediately and start after this years seniors graduate. Each of them has size and skills that really fit well with the makeup of this team. If we can sign one more player of this caliber it would not matter to me whether it is a transfer who has to sit out a year because we will need him more in the fall of '14 than we do now. This staff and Jim Crews have done a masterful job in adding three really good players--two at a very late time in recruiting. Wow!

  2. Come on guys tell us outlanders what happened.

As always, this event proved again what a great group of young men we have playing basketball for SLU. The event was reasonably well attended and held in the main area at CA. Bob R was the MC and Chris May spoke and the seniors introduced the rest of the players and the coaches and admin folks. The food was decent and overall the event went smoothly. Coach Crews was the final speaker and talked about the team and in particular the seniors and their accomplishments. Each senior said a few words. Again, the theme of family and the quality of the individuals on the team and the coaching staff was evident. Nothing groundbreaking but a nice evening.

After such a great year we all need to appreciate that it is important that we turn out and support the team at the post season event. I know we all have busy lives, but this sort of event is really part of the fabric of a program which supports the team and recognizes the positive achievements and success of these young men. I would hope that all who are in town would consider attending and if you are on the fence please reconsider and attend. The players deserve our support! The parking is easy and the price is reasonable. thanks

From a player's perspective, Which festivity is more important to attend banquet or golf dinner?

That is a good question. The golf event has a built in group of attendees so it should be well attended but there is very little done to recognize the players at that event--it is more informal with an auction and dinner. The post season banquet is specifically designed to recognize the success of the team and the players for this year. In terms of specific recognition the banquet will be a more focused event.
