Serious question - What "horrible choice" did they make?
I still haven't figured this out.
By all reports, KM had consensual sex with a girl (he even practiced safe sex and she helped put the condom on).
WR simply watched.
I don't see where they made a horrible choice. Does anyone really expect WR to inform authorities that his buddy had consensual sex?
I've yet to figure out what these two did the was suspension worthy and that she did not also do and yet went suspension free.
Please explain.
My loyalty also remains with SLU, but that includes it's player representatives. I cannot sit back and approve of university sanctioned disparate treatment.
Come on, let's not be totally blind to the situation. While they may have not done anything illegal, they aren't completely innocent. It was probably (and all things considering turned out to be)a horrible choice to run a train on a girl. A choice doesn't have to be illegal for it to be a bad one. I don't think the players should have been suspended in this fashion, but it is naive to think that all parties involved didn't make "horrible choices" that night. Sometimes those horrible choices come back to bite you, even when it seems unfair...that's life.

Off-court scandals, losses to teams with RPI's in the 300's, food poisoning, weird sicknesses and injuries to Majerus. It has to get better, right?
It has to get better.

Didn't your softball coach get hired away by a D2 school? That must sting. I've also heard that Darin wishes he was back at Central Missouri too. Wouldn't shock me to see you all lose your baseball coach to another D2 school.
Haha softball...Nice. Our womens Field Hockey team was terrible this year too if you want to take shot at that.

On the series thing, um how would cancelling a series be unclassy exactly? I would think whining about it on radio would be more of an unclassy thing but you all are probably immune to it by now since he whines about everything. Secondly, I doubt he is being truthful in what he is saying.
I think if there is one thing you can say about Majerus, it is he is honest...brutally honest. Just look at some of the things he has said about his own players.

Can you remind we what academic program it was that attracted scholars like Willie and Kwamain? I cannot remember. It is okay to mention their names right?
Scholars? They came here to play basketball. Have you ever taken statistics? 2 people is not a representative sample of SLU's student population. Just like I won't assume that you represent the ****** bagginess (sp?) of all of Missouri State student population. Perfectly fine to mention their names. It's Voldemort's you can't mention. Go back to reading Harry Potter.

He is right. Our academics draw people from around the country, not from the meth labs of rural Missouri like an unnamed missouri state school.
Whoops. Guess I accidently mention it...my apologies.
-
Actually... most of SLU students/alumni are from St. Louis, Chicago, KC, Dallas, Houston, Milwaukee, and Cincinnati.... and China.... so your wrong.

Went over to the Missouri State board to see what they were saying about the game...The bold gave me a chuckle.

I saw that. I wonder if John Stamos is coming with them since he is supposedly a huge Bills fan. Which is absurd. I can't stand SLU or their fans. They had fans harassing the Jacksonville U team after the game calling them "thugs" etc for no real reason. Then you have someone on their board with a handle derogatory towards Puerto Ricans which is flat out offensive. Outrageous.

There were many SLU fans who were VERY excited about Rob Loe this time last year and you see how he, at least for now, is nowhere near as good as they thought he would be. I believe he will become a good ballplayer in time.
To be honest, I am still very excited about Rob Loe. The problem is SLU's circumstances have forced him into a different role than was originally planned for him. We have seen how effective he can be when Loe gets out onto the wing. I like his shot for the most part. Just a little physically unmature, but add some weight on him and I think he will be a pretty good player that can help create a lot of mismatches. With that being said, still not sure how he got his shot blocked twice in one series.

Manning's weight is from 2 years ago. He weighs 240 now.
That makes me feel a lot better.
-
I checked out rivals: Both were 3 star recruits. Willie is 2 inches shorter but weighed 15 more lbs. Sigh...I wish we could get a 5 that was a bruiser...
-
I am pretty excited about Manning, but does anyone know how he compared to Willie coming out of High School?
-
Are we counting the Rockhurst game as a win?
If so, I think it is a definite turning point. Big mental difference between 3-5 and 4-4.

I like their prediction a lot better. Just have to have someone step up and play down low. I don't think replacing Kwamain is going to be as tough as replacing Willie; by virtue of being able to spread the scoring at the 1, 2, and 3.

66. The preseason loss of Kwamain Mitchell and Willie Reed will prevent Saint Louis from contending for an NCAA tournament bid.
Not anything we all didn't know...at least we got mentioned?
Hope they are wrong though.

Dave is coming to Dayton????!!!!!!!! Wow that is a surprise. Whatever happened to predictability? The milkman, the paper boy, the evening tv...

I would agree to some extent. A finding was obviously made these guys acted terribly and perhaps committed forcable sexual assault. A year suspension was somehow commuted? With no explanation and by unknown people. If you believe, as SLU does, that something bad happened, how do you even leave open the door to these guys. Great Catholic principles there....
hey dave...forgiveness is also a catholic principle.

Just to clarify, is it an apology to the girl or to the University for not living up to moral standards? If it is to the University it is a whole different story.

On the bright side, if Mitchell really is coming back, our freshmen will get some valuable playing time against a weak non-conference schedule. Just weather the storm until January and then look to make a splash in A-10 conference play.
KSDK has gotten wind of "The Situation"...

If we were only adding KM and WR I would agree. However, consider the freshmen and sophomores gaining a year of experience. Another year of maturing and growing bigger and stronger. Add Barnett coming off of his year out due to transfering and adding another legitimate 5 in Manning. I don't know that it will matter if CS finds his shot again, he may not be on the floor that much. Rob Loe will get a better chance to pick and pop with a legitate 5 scoring threat. Assuming Ellis doesnt get mono this offseason or burn his hand on any more firecrackers he should be better. I would say that there is a very real chance we are "absolutely loaded" next year.
