  1. I am confused by the spread of minutes as well. However, there could be a lot of reasons that Ash might not be getting more minutes...Strained muscle, rolled ankle, cold, flu, fever, bad ice cubes... Could it be that there isn't a need to risk anything in meaningless games against PJ Stingers?

Work on the fundamentals of what you need to do to install the new offense and defense. You don't have to worry about results right now. You think NFL teams care about winning in the pre-season?

  2. It is quite possible (even probable) that more players wanted to transfer. It is also possible it could have been because of a couple bad apples in the locker room. We all heard the rumblings last year.

Put me in the party that thinks that this team definitely needs to improve their game, but would also improve noticeably from a better team chemistry. Hopefully the trip to the Bahamas helps.

  3. GUARD

    JERMAINE BISHOP

    Holy Cross

The 6-1 senior guard powered the Knights to its deepest run in the CHSAA Class AA division since getting to the city championship game in 2012. The senior guard was a strong leader on the floor and adept at creating his own shots and finishing in the paint. Bishop would average 20 points this season in being selected for the first time to the All-CHSAA Class AA First

  4. Pat Forde wrote about SLU in his college basketball minutes...He put this under the section of Perils of promoting from within...How much uglier does this get before changes are made?

Saint Louis (19). When Rick Majerus took leave with a failing heart, the school understandably turned to Jim Crews, a veteran head coach at Evansville and Army. He first was given the job on an interim basis, and then full-time. Crews rewarded that trust with two great seasons, going a combined 55-14. But with the loss of several key, multi-year players, the Billikens have collapsed. They’re 11-18, 3-13 in the league and now losing badly to fellow A-10 also-rans like George Mason and Duquesne. The good news is that the entire roster should be back next year – if that is indeed good news.

  5. By the end of next season all the shine will be off the program. A change needs to be made at the end of this season or we are going to get stuck in the basketball wilderness again.

Let's be honest, outside of Billikens fans not sure it was shining that brightly. I think making the tournament only largely helps if you get to the sweet 16 or better. I am not confident that Crews will turn it around, but I also don't know how you get rid of him right away.

  6. They don't play mid major caliber defense on the block. Until SLU finds players who can the team will struggle. Gillmann right is almost useless on defense and rebounding. The same can be said for Jolly and Manning. SLU needs bigs who can bang, rebound, and are a threat to score inside. I see low mid major teams with better rebounders than SLU has. As big as Lancona is, if he made up his mind to play inside and worked hard at it, he could help the team a lot more than he does.

I think the key is as of right now for Jolly and Gillman. There were several times yesterday where Jolly or Gillman were in position to defend rebound but they were out muscled. Gotta think this only improves as they add strength.

  7. I understand all the pessimism given some of the results, but this team has shown promise/flashes. Is it brutal to watch at times right now. Absolutely. They are young and inconsistent. The bright side is all we lose next year is Manning. We aren't losing anyone whose production will be hard to replace. Also, we lost close games to the top of the conference by one possession/one play. Is it that hard to believe that essentially the same team with more strength, experience, and maturity can make an extra play to win similar games we are losing this year?

  8. Did you read the post? Did I make any specifications about anything? Go read, and then come back with an intelligible answer.

You not saying anything is my point. You came in with a I know stuff about GG but I am not going to say anymore. An inflammatory comment that leads to worthless speculation. Might as well keep it to yourself.

  9. Just stop. I know for a fact what has been going on, but i'm not going to post it because I know I'll get crap from posters like you. I also don't want to say anything about stuff going on behind closed doors on the message board, it's more respectful to the team and players.

This gets tiring. People with "inside information" post remarks that they know will get people riled up, but don't want to/can't say anymore. If that's the case, I would rather those people keep it to themselves. It doesn't do anyone any good to come saying "there is a reason xyz is happening but I can't tell you why." It's a message board don't post unless you have information you can share is my thought.

  10. A win is a win. This was a game where our defense was not up to par and our offense was really poor. We still won it, a win is a win. Now we are 7-0 away, and our win string is up to 12. This game did not make us look good, and it goes to prove that when Evans is shut out of the game we look really shabby. Grandy had a great night, Crawford did fine. Praise the Lord!

Hard to say the offense was poor. Shot 50%. 52.6% from 3 and only had 9 turnovers. Probably the first game this year the offense has carried the defense.
