  1. My bad then. I thought he was one of the many that had to leave. Of course we we did. We were told basically to be quick about it.

It's fine.He had a huge group of fans surrounding him, so I can understand why you thought he left.

Just talk to some of the kids and fans that stayed and waited through the line to meet the team. I bet they would have a very different reaction from last night.

Fans were on the floor, meeting the team, taking pictures, talking to coaches, watching interviews, and signing autographs until 7:30ish.

The best part was a group of kids from Loyola Academy surrounding GG after that and asking him questions about all of his tattoo's and being from Canada. Hilarious. He did a great job with the kids.

  2. You're a joke. You are way off base with your entitlement and free look comment.

I didn't ask for anything but SLU advertised something. Could they not have put some effort into doing it right?

    They didn't have a 30 minute scrimmage.

By 6:45 these players were gone or were never there. BC, KC, CR, KM, JJ, MM. 50% of their top 10 players.

You were satisfied, great. I was underwhelmed and stated it. Get over it.

There are very few people over the last almost 20 years who have supported the Bills more than I have and not just with dollars. (And I'd bet there aren't a thousand fans who have given the athletic department more money over the last 20 years than I have, and far fewer non - alumni) I have been extremely supportive of RM over and over again taking his and the schools side most of the time.

It's also not just the mens basketball team I support.

KM was there FAR beyond 6:45, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans on the floor.

Over 75% of the fans left after practice and didn't take advantage of the meet and greet opportunity that followed...

  3. Reminder about Fan Fest.

Blue and White Scrimmage will start AT 6pm. The team will scrimmage for about 45 minutes.

The doors to the arena will open at 5:30pm.

Free food and drink will be offered to all of those in attendance. Hotdogs, Nachos, Popcorn, and Soda.

The events to follow the scrimmage are TBD at the moment. Will update as soon as I hear more.

See you all on Tuesday night.

  4. Does anyone have any information on when the team is going to hold its first official practice? If I remember correctly RM doesn't like to do anything with Midnight Madness, but has an open practice with a question and answer segment afterwards. I think it is called fan appreciation day or something like that. I missed it last year and want to make it this year. Any word on when it is going to be?

    October 18th. 6pm-8pm.

  5. I too want to avoid another Valley thread, but it was mentioned at least a couple times on Monday when the game was announced that they travel well. I was just commenting on that. Yes a Tuesday game --especially with the late start is a bit tough--like we both said we couldn't get more than 90 students who life a few hundred yards away to come to the game.

The problem is not the students WANT to go. They WANT to go. They just don't have the money to watch the Bills beat up on ISU. I will bet that we get close to a full student section for the Championship series, if Royal Bank comes through. We also do have to remebers that we had ONE DAY to recruit students to come. Alot of students throught the season was over, and were shocked when they saw the GameDay sign on the front windows of Gries.

  6. Or just up the tuition 50 bucks. There are kids in college that literally look in their wallet and have 12 dollars. They have to decide how they are going to eat and drink beer with that twelve dollars for the next 2 days. This is a reality...at least it was when I was in school 10 years ago. Some students just don't have the money to spend on games.

The price of Student Season Tixs is already being discussed within the AD. The price this year was $135, next year it should be lower than $100. That price change should hopefully gain more student fans at EVERY home game.
