Agreed....Cassity ranked #1 in minutes played this season for the Bills but ranked #5 in FG attempted. Cassity has less attempts than Ellis, who showed up in January and played half the minutes that Cassity did. In my opinion he lacks confidence in his shot, if he misses early he then hesitates to take shots later in the game. I did like seeing him take the ball to the basket more and more as the season went on, but he needs to be a little more like Ellis with his shot. Meaning, even if his shot is off early, to continue to shoot and show confidence in his ability and shot, like Ellis.
In my opinion KC & CS will not be expected to big time contributors on the score board , their roles will be the defensive end and setting the offense for our main scorers KM.WR ,CE & maybe MM & RL depending on how soon they can get up to speed of college ball, but if KC & CS have the opportunity to take it they will, I do believe court time will be cut dramatically for CS with the new recruits coming in and will be a back up for KC when he is rested or in foul trouble, which i beleive will lead CS to be the next through the RM revolving door at season end.

KM,WR & CE 984 FGA Ellis only here from start of Conference, and only KM is capable of creating his own shot.

I believe Loe will not make an imediate impact for the Bills like Ellis did , he will be a 1-2 yr project under RM and exel as a Junior & Senior,

Man give it a break , You might think that a couple of the boys are weak links but the majority of the boys have been playing through with injuries KC is one of them .
By any chance are you the missing link ??

I have see McCall play and his defense will be second to none on the team, and he can score which kyle does none off. A couple games ago we had a double overtime game and finished with a score in the 60's. we need scoring gaurds.
D1 basketball is a HUGE step from High School Basketball ,especially the way Coach RM plays it ,

I've been meaning to ask this question for a while and I guess now is as good a time as any to look forward.
I have been down on KC for a while now. While his floor game is always improving, we really only get short spurts of real offense from him. Tonight I don't believe he ever even looked at the basket once. The kid just won't try to score. I think that is a real problem especially when KM and/or WR is not on the floor. The last six or so games have shown quite clearly to me that this team can't afford to have non-threats on the floor. Especially if we intend to step up our level of competition next year.
Of course I'm not saying anything new about KC's game but until now he's still been the best option to have out there.
BUT.........
-Next year with DE and a healthy FJ/JR/?? this team will have options at the 3 that go beyond CS.
-IMHO CS has been showing steadily improving defense and is already approaching KC's strength in that area.
-Even on a poor shooting night (like tonight) CS outpaces KC offensively.
-With MM in the mix the team should not need to depend on Kyle to be the 1b point guard anymore.
I'm not saying Majerus would start the year this way. But I just can't help but feel that by the start of conference play next year he will decide to start CS at the 2.
I'll also admit that I'm a CS fan so my opinions are most certainly biased. But I'd like to know what everyone else thinks.
I think KC will still start his defense is the best on the team his court vision to create for team mates is very valuable his assist to TO is very good and he is a steady in fluence to run the Majerus offense , he will come back stronger from the off season ,CS on the other hand has come along way this year has had a tough time with his shooting ,the upside is he has become a very good defender ,has cut down on his T/O he is actually in the plus column were as half way through the season he had few more turnovers than assists .as a freshman he has had a good season .But i think KC will still be playing more minutes than CS and starting .

You made that call man , you could have and should have edited it , it was not called for to pick out 2 guys who have busted there arse all season and im sure gave it all for THEIR team as did all the Boys that put on the uniform, They might not be the Superstar status of WR,KM & CE in this team but their effort and heart is huge , to be playing 30+mins a game and getting battered by screens and chasing majority of the time older and more experienced players all over the court my hats of to them. they might be role players but i would have both of them in my team every time ,

Congrats to RM and his Coaching staff on a job well done with a very young group of guys . I feel they have exeeded the expectation of many a Billiken Fan ,
A win of this tourny would have been great but the 4th Finish of Conference play was HUGE and for mE the high light of the season considering we were tipped to finish 12th.

If Loe comes, whose scholarship does he take? Reid's? John's? Who's not coming back?
It will probably be one of the weak links as Billikenbill stated on another thread CS or KC

Role players don't play 30 plus minutes a game evey game.
They do especially if they are playing as the coach wants and doing it well . And who would you have put on the court in place of them the last few weeks ?

For all their effort, Cassity and Salecich were the weak links on this team. We need better talent at the 2 and 3 spots.
With our 2 saviours coming in next year +FJ,JJ,PE & JR we should send CS home to OZ with a 1 way ticket no need for a weak link next season ,that would also open up a spot for RL .
While we are at it maybe we could ask KC to become a walk on so we have another free sholie.
You gotta hate those weak links .!!!!

I think this years class was special and were a very big part of a great year , some would say one of the best seasons we have had afor a long time , and they have had to come in and be competetive from the outset especially with only 4 sophs as their support and as our senior players , not a easy task for any group of Freshman , shame to see JJ & JS leave SLU they call it progress would have been interesting to see how these 5 could have progressed by their senior year under the guidance of RM & Staff and how far the skill set would have improved ,

Would not have been a bad team as seniors if they had progressed as they have this year. all have shown huge improvement from the time they have arrived at SLU
