  1. And I don't consider CS as a legit example, as he made the decision himself and we still have an open scolarship that can be used, so obviously nobody was waiting in the wings.

If you beleieve the statement you have written you have been fooled.

Any one close to the team knows that CS was given no option but to leave , as i remember SLU were chasing 2-3 players before CS was released ,

I do have a problem with kids being pushed/over recruited out especially when they are solid/ honour roll students and have done nothing wrong as towards the school, team or community.

  2. Good luck CS.

Since this has been news for a month or so now and we have no one committed yet, almost no chance that CS was "forced out." 99.9% sure that no one else is transferring unless they fail this semester. It would be announced by now.

Its Little you know my friend CS had 2 choices leave or leave ! No option no negotiation Fullstop end of story.

Lets not forget SLU were banking on 2 signings and WR playing. Thats why CS was pushed through the Majerus Revolving Door

Good Luck to CS hope it works out for him.

  3. I have no Sympathy for WR when it comes down to not achieving the grades required , he was given a second chance by SLU that not many other students would have received for the indiscretions that he committed.

He had a whole semester to concentrate on achieving the grades without interruptions eg: team training ,playing and being away from classes during away games which could be up to 2-3 days at a time.

Being a above average player should no give any player the right of a easy ride through their schooling,

Escorts to class is the biggest piece of s#$t i have heard in a long time, these young men must take responsibility into their own hands because im sure as hell when these young men enter the real world they will not have a minder getting them out of bed and taking them to work every day and escorting them back home. They all will not make a living playing ball !!.That is reality.

They have been given a great opportunity to get a great education that many people cannot afford because they are good at a sport, which is great for both parties, with a solid team on the floor that performs well the school can make a good income from ticket sales merchandise etc but the player/s must live up to their end of the bargain and perform in the class by achieving the grades require to stay eligible.

Its basically a contract that is implemented every day at any job face , we will pay you X amount (scholarship) if you perform the duties you were hired for efficiently and without incident(grades & court performance) or you will be terminated . Basic every day life you are told all this before you sign a contract (scholy agreement).

  4. . If anyone transfers, it will probably be CS, only because he looks to be riding the pine the next two seasons. But, he is also an honor roll student who may decide it is best to get his degree from SLU, despite his limited playing options.

Totally agree , and i dont think he will be travelling alone he may also have his MATE with him.

  5. CS is going to lose all of his minutes to Km, JB and KC next year, with KM and WR back. He's better off transferring. I have been appalled at how he's played this year.

CS does not have many minutes to lose , Agree his offense has been terrible but in the last couple of games JJ (44T/O IN 13 Games) & MM have not set the world on fire especially against BG & their defense has been apalling against some very ordinary opposition guards . CS would have definately helped us out in a big way on defense especially against BG , As CR would of helped out on rebounding against BG.

It is obvious that RM & Coaching staff have already determined that CS will not be required next season and are making sure he is getting the message loud & clear, also i would not be suprised that CR is being pushed into a Redshirt season thus the limited court time even though we have been out rebounded in the majority of our games and our rebounders have been terrible , its hard to understand why you would leave 1 of your more taller & athletic players on the bench when you are being crushed on the boards & leave a solid defensive guard on the bench when your starting guards are being beaten badly and giving the opposition guards open looks & time to make passes when and how they want without any pressure.

  6. Sure he might not be happy with the lack of PT, but he seems like a solid kid in my opinion and will work harder rather than run home in that case.

I have no doubt that he is a great kid and a great team member, but to be on the other side of the world away from family to play 2-3 min i cannot see him staying and im sure RM will point this out to him, he may even try to tranfer but with his stats at the moment will struggle to find a good Div 1 team to be interested in him .

  7. Agreed. I've been a detractor of Salecich but last night he had a good game, did nothing on offense but made no mistakes either. When we got stuck on our comeback down by 11 and 9 points Salecich was on the floor causing TOs. We wouldn't have made the comeback last night without him. His defense kept us going when we hit a lull on offense.

Agree with his work on Defense and i believe we are better with him on the floor on the Defensive end but until he finds a Offensive game he will struggle for Minutes only 10min yesterday. Can get to the basket he has shown that and has a good short jumper , vision is good his 2 assists yesterday were proof of that, the one to CE especially , My advice to him would be put the 3 ball away until the confidence comes back and attack the Rim hard he is tough and can take the bump , needs to find the swagger he arrived with last year. If this does not happen he will find himself back in Oz next season.

    PE Gives Everything

    BC Leader on The Bench

CS Missing in Action Headed Through The RM Revolving Door Season End

  9. Agree.

I dont care what his form looks like he needs to shoot how he feels comfortable.

He was apparently a good shooter in Australia Im not sure if the coaches have tinkered with his shooting but whatever he was doing there he needs to do here form be damned

I bet a lot of people tried to change Reggie Millers form he had one of the ugliest shots in basketball but it worked for him.

Players need to shoot how they feel comfortbale not how a coach tells them to feel comfortbale.

    +1

  10. Don't understand your point. Of course you don't get rotation if you push it, that's why CS shouldn't push it, which he is doing. And you say base is a load of crap, but that balance is important. Your balance comes from your base, In other words, Christian doesn't have a good base, so he is off-balance, so he misses. Even CS knows his footwork is way off, which is why he is only shooting off the dribble right now.

Confidence is critical, but you can have all the confidence in the world and still miss if your mechanics are not right.

It would be wannabees, not wannabee's/

Every shot i have seen him take has good rotation and a good solid wrist snap.

Balance does not come from your base , have seen many good shooters demostrate that feet position (width),stance have nothing to do with balance , its about core strength, same as taking a bump on the move and making the shot, nothing to do with base its about core strength as a sports person you would have known this. Stroking key board keys does not make you a sport person and i forgive you for that .

  11. Salecich is shooting 20% from three if you take out his first four games (in his career). That means when he shoots a 3, there is an 80% chance he misses it. That is absolutely awful. Its not like he has great form either. He pushes the ball, and he has a terrible base.

He is an above-average defender. But he's getting passed up on the depth chart before our eyes and I bet he stays there.

No Idea comment from a wannabe basketballer.

If you push a shot you will get no rotation on the ball, try it backyard warrior!!

Base what a load of crap its all about balance and rythm, bit hard to have a base when you are shooting the J, and the main ingredient is confidence which obviously he has lost , CE is going through the same issue Stroke looks good but just lacking that confidence and arrogance he showed last year. Will it come back ? only the players themselves can answer that ,not some wannabee`s.Many players have had to deal with this at all levels and sometomes the harder you try the worse it gets.

I do believe that both will come back and be a part in this team.

  12. IF we play a 3-guard lineup like we did last year, we would have 3 spots available for: Mitchell, McCall, Jett, Barnett, Cassity, Salecich, and Eckerle...

Next year we lose Eckerle, and are left with 6 players for 3 positions...that's not too bad (20 minutes per player average)

    For example,

    KM- 30

    KC- 24

    JB- 24

    MM- 22

    JJ- 15

    CS- 5

If Salecich doesn't improve, I think he is going to be the odd man out...

Dont see CS being a part of SLU next year, will be shown the RM revolving door,

As pointed out earlier cannot see the kid sitting on the pine for a few minutes (2-5) in rubbish time, hopefully will get a chance at a second Div school or he may even head home.

  13. Mitchell

    Cassity

    Barnett

    Loe

    Reed

Manning and Cory at the 5

    Conklin at the 4

    Cody at the 3,4

    Evans at the 3

McCall and Jett at the 1,2

Oh my - that team would beat last year's team by 20. I'm so pissed at that ruling of that stupid board. Come back WR and KM!

And CS on the plane back to Oz

  14. cory's best game by far this year. he showed energy. he was hustling for position at least 4 rebounds in the second half that others got were because of his great block out.

    cassity is playing great.

ellis is playing horrible. hope those couple of threes at the end of the game helps him get back.

salicich is playing worse than ellis.

all the freshmen looked good imo. i think loe and mccall will be stars before they leave slu.

conklin is conklin. plays hard but also makes it look hard. my gosh missed two bunnies. but all in all is the perfect backup forward. come in knock some heads, get a few rebounds, then out. perfect. plus it appears he accepts his role. cant not like the kid.

    +1

    I hope CE finds his form quickly Sat night would be great;

CS Well i think he has played himself to the end of the bench and may see the revolving door season end.

KC Has stood up to be counted and has become a good leader .

CR Has started to get back were he left of last season (baby steps)

The Freshman all look like they will contribute well this season ,Still early days
