  1. Okay ---- I finally went back and looked at the link ..... first of all, is this kid's name "Courtney Ramey?" And if so, anyone else see a conflict of interest (nee: exploitation) with Ramey basketball placing a YouTube video up of Courtney Ramey? Looks like someone has bought their version of the lottery ticket in this somewhere. We also ought to ask that they change the position nomenclature from "point guard' to one of "ball hog." I didn't commit the whole gangsta rap bullsh*t to memory but I do not recall seeing one ASSIST from this kid whatsoever. Calling him a "point guard" seems somewhat out of sorts to the term and duties said player would have if he indeed did play that particular spot on the floor.

On th epluss side --- I loved the killer crossover --- of course, it is illegal and is indeed carrying the ball but hey, let's train 'em right.

Its obvious that you have not seen this kid as my son has competed against him several times and I have watch lil Courtney play over 12 times this year as well as last year. You are totally off base with the ball hog comment. This kid is special and knows the game better than some high schoolers. I have seen his dad get on him for being to unselfish at times. He runs this team to pure perfection. He is a treat to watch as are all the kids on this team. I suggest you go to their website and find out when they are in town because they play better and more fundamental than most high school teams and i am sure you would get a treat out of watching them play. And the kid is really that good and is a true point guard that scores the ball easily. If you would have watched the entire highlight video you would have seen him demonstrate his ability to Drive, Draw, and Dish on over 10 occasions. Congrats to Team Ramey and Courtney Ramey they are well deserving of their #1 in the nation ranking.

  2. He will be playing in Rameybasketball.com Midwest Shootut this Saturday, December 13 over at Normandy.

www.midwestshowdownshootout.com has complete schedule and more info. They was talking about it on KMOX today and that I would share it because I haven't heard anyone talking about it on here and it looks like a good event to anyone that is interested.

Will you be attending Nate and STLHI

Game schedule is as followed for people interested.

11AM Miller Career Academy vs Memphis Manassas girls game

    12:30PM Wellston vs Decatur Macarthur

2PM Harrisburg, MO vs Providence St. Mel, IL

3:30PM Parkway South vs EVansville, IN Harrison

5PM Francis Howell vs Schaumburg, IL

    6:30PM Whitfield vs Memphis Manassas

    8PM McCluer vs Chicago Foreman

9:30PM Normandy vs East St. Louis

All these games are for $10 WOW thats about $1.25 per game and it has some good games on hand with a contrast of local versus national talent.

  3. My last question to Nate and Torch since both of you were their. Do you guys think Beal is Florida, Kansas, Illinois good or do you see the upside in him to make that good in the future. I see a kid with a lot of talent but low to mid major talent. I don't think he had a bigger upside than Lisch or Tommie at this stage in their careers. His ball handling was decent but not outstanding and what I see as a major problem for Beal is is speed and strength. I again think he is good but I just don't see a high major talent hidden away their. Just my opinion

  4. Just back from the games.

Lafayette advanced in a down to the wire game against CBC. Final was 44-42. Griffey scored the game winning bucket on a drive with 2 seconds left. Lafayette has pretty poor guard play which allowed CBC to not only stay in this game but lead throughout the 2nd and 3rd quarter. Ryan Pierson was in foul trouble most of the game. He had just 6 points. He did outplay Kirksey while he was on the floor pretty handily. Kirksey had a pretty bad game. He was 1-12 from the field and didn't take a shot outside of 5 feet. CBC really has no one within 50 lbs of Kirksey besides Pierson but he struggled mightily. EJ Carter and Kevin Walsh actually did a pretty decent job of defending Griffey. He was pretty well contained in the first half. Carter was the offensive star for CBC. Griffey started to take over late in the third and dominated in the 4th quarter. He finished with 25 points, he only had 7 in the first half. He'll be a good player for Illinois. Inside out guy, but his range is not very deep 15-17 feet at the most. If he wants to play SF in the big ten he will have to extend that out to 3 land. CBC is not a great team. Lafayette shouldn't advance very far in state. A team with good guards will overcome Griffey's skill level every time.

McCluer will take on Lafayette as they beat Chaminade something like 74-66. McCluer led straight out of the gate, they run and run and run and Chaminade couldn't keep up. Comets led by as many as 18 in the 3rd quarter. Beal and Hannah started to get hot and came all the way to within six points but McCluer held on. Lonnie Boga dominated in the first half, driving to the basket and hitting 3s on his way to game high 28 points. Shaquille ran the show for McCluer and chipped in with 20 points. Shaquille's outside shot was really off but he seemed to have worked on his handles and bulked up a little since last year as he got to the basket almost as well as his brother. Partlow added 16 for McCluer. Beal and Hannah really started off slow but came on in the second half. Beal finished with 25. He was really smooth throughout, good outside shooter, good handles for a 2. Hannah is a linebacker. Defends anywhere on the court but at this point on offense is a 6'3 PF. If he gets bigger or develops guard skills he will be someone to watch. His body is D-1 ready at 15. Hannah finished with 14 points.

Should be a good matchup on friday. McCluer's guards are 10 times better than Lafayette's but McCluer has no one near the size of Griffey and Kirksey in the middle. CBC will try to slow tempo but McCluer is too fast. Griffey should be able to exert control over a ballgame but he didn't until well into the 2nd half against an inferior team in CBC tonight. McCluer should win handily if the Bogas and Partlow are on target from outside.

Beal had 25 tonight then I don't know what game I was watching. The refs were calling any touch on the young mr. beal and his shot was way off tonight. he had several turnovers also. Hannah looked more liked he scored 25 tonight. Hannah is incredible strong but is about 6'2 and that my freind will not get you any looks D1 being an inside player. Was that an official score count for Beal because I didn't see it and he was not that impressive to me tonight. I do however like the Boga brothers especially the younger one. Not sold on Beal just yet.

  5. Ok thanks and thats glad to hear. Thats why I asked because I heard that James will be transfering from UNI by the end of the semester or definatly after the season. We'll see how it all plays out. Also I asked that question about Mcgee because I didn't see no mention of him on their site several days ago or his name under any roster. Where is that picture of him from, because it is evident that he is on the team by the picture in the uniform but they don't have any mention of him on the website or roster or any mentioning of him being offered a scholarship no where on the web. Just curious as to why not and where the roster picture came from. Just curious thanks.

  6. Vtime: Where is Brian Mcgee I think you stated before that he signed D1 (not sure maybe wrong) and rumor is that Anthony James is on his way out at Northern Iowa. Heard this from a UNI current player and that he is having a tough time adjusting to that level on the court. Is this true, because i know you are close to these two.

Billiken Roy Justin Clayborn is not on these players level. Clayborn is good in that Belleville West system.

  7. Also watched this very entertaining game. Barron was I think 9/11 from three point range and he hit 5 of them from like 30 feet with a defender draped all over him. I also like the number 21 kid he was very good in this game especially in the first half. I think RI should have won and they should have attacked the rim on those final two possesions like Duke did and probably would have gotten the foul call as Duke did. RI is very athletic and fast and they shoot and create off the dribble well. Not much inside but they will give us fits with their athletic and shooting ability. Great showing for the A-10

  8. And that should be the goal, kids using basketball to further their educations and enhance their lives.

Not that kids have to go D-1 because they think they are the second coming of Carmelo Anthony and need to make the NBA to be successful in life.

Please echo that again to V please. I am not trying to bash on you V but time and time you promote the D1 kid and kids who aren't good enough for D1 but could have good careers and free education at a lower institute. Case Jayme Donnelly.

  9. That thread link says a lot. thanks Nate:o I guess V-time and his brother are highly dissappointed that their guy they said was a D1 stud is going NAIA. Look at the bright side he is still going to school free and going to be able to play.

  10. I remember his name coming up on this board once or twice as a potential target. I remember V-Time saying that he visited and was being recruited by SLU and that he was a D1 kid. Well he committed and it was to NAIA Evangel University. I think it’s a good situation that a lot of kids need to understand because you should go to a school that is more on your level and play. Being happy during your college career is the key. Good luck to the kid for making a solid mature decision.

  11. LMAO Nate and V-time are the site promoters and going head to head. Who's gonna win this battle between these two, I'm taking all bets. Hmmmm what site do I go to first to check out stories on Beal. How does one chose without letting the other one down for not going to their site first.

    Just having fun

  12. V-time, STLHI, or STLFINEST please answer this question if you did not personally place these 20-30 kids into college on your hard work, do you think that they would not have gotten into college otherwise. What you are saying that is so idotic to me is that you are the sole reason these kids are going to a NAIA or college period. That again sounds like a selfish person or even a fool to say these things. You don't make any money for all we know of the things you say you do but your motive is to feel important and liked and thats why when you do anything or go anywhere you post it on this board and that to me is silly. I don't see any other website or person promoting themselves or their work like that. How about you go back and send me a link of a thread where a user posted something good about you or something you did on your site without you pointing it out first. People don't really care, I will say this that you are a hard worker as it seems but you are also not very business savvy. We all here are trying to give you advice and you take that advice as us not liking you or havoing motives against you, in the real world that is called an insecure person that is really trying to hide the truth. I will see coach Moser tomorrow and I will ask him about you and your website and the many conversations he has had with you and how SLU relys on your opinion. LOL. Just please answer me this one question if you did not exist would these dozens of kids have found schools or not. If you can honestly.

  13. http://www.billikens.com/forum/index.php?a...sult_type=posts

In your very small number of posts there is a similar theme. You're promoting one thing and trying to tear down and discredit another. Your initial post from your first day on the board shows a clear agenda. I hope you're having a good time.

In this case V-Time you are right and my agenda is that you are a hypocrite and you shamelessly promote yourself behind these kids constantly. You never here noone say an absurd comment like I AM THE REASON WHY A KID ATHLETE THAT IS NOT YOU SON GOT INTO COLLEGE. So if you was not their would those 20-40 or how many you said that you personally hand delevored to colleges have still gotten into college. I say the answer is yes and at the same token the same or better level. Nate I guess every kid that you mentioned on this board or your site got to school because you put them on your site also.

I wish I had you when I was a senior V-Time, because I would not have shot hundred of jumpers before and after practice, studied to pass my test, lifted weights, and work my tail off to contribute to my teams success in hopes of garnering an athletic scholarship. I would have just let you do an interview with me and poof I would have been D1 instead of D2. My agenda is that you are a HYPOCRITE and I am not the only one who sees past your classless promotions.

  14. Again, I had to say this but why does anyone take V-Time, STLHI, Justin, STlFinest, the brother seriously. One piece of advise for a business man. I have heard several positive things about Earl Austin, Nate Latsch, and Terell Ramsey as local prep basketball gurus from COLLEGE COACHES, PLAYERS, PARENTS, and FANS but other than Nate who is apart of a Billikens website neither posts on this board to my knowledge. You are looking for somekind of reward. How can you say that you are the reason that a kid got a scholarship. Last time I checked the kid is the one that plays the game and takes the test. So what you are saying V-Time is without you these 20-30 kids would not be going to school or playing ball next year in college. Nate and Ramey can say that they put they helped the same number of kids get into schools also through websites but they don't because they let people talk on their behalf instead of trying to force it on people. I go to many games and I hear those names a lot and never hear yours, except on this board that you use as a self promotion board.

You sound like a fool and you need to study a Dave Telep, Jerry Meyer, or even the three I mentioned already and get some advice from them.

  15. STL Hoops,

I think you should be the last person speaking on a track record in regards to players. Anthony James was an average player on an average high school team. Northern Iowa gave him a scholarship with the hopes of recruiting more St.louis players in the near future. That's the TRUTH!!!! Heck, the local DII and even NAIA schools had doubts about signing him. If UMSL doesn't go after him next year he might end up at Lindenwood.

Nate what are your thoughts on Anthony James as I also was not that impressed by this kid. Does he fit into UNI style and is he talented enough to play in the Valley or is SS601 right on target.

  16. Willie has to get a lot better on the offensive end. He is very raw and if it was not for a thin bench WR would be a perfect red shirt candidate, but I don't see him being very signinicant this year for the Bills. I hope BC is more ready and I see BT playing a lot also although he still is raw offensively also. BT loves to shoot rather than post. I hope rickma can get him to become a low post threat very quick because he has never been one that wants to mix it up down low as I think WR is also.
