Roy is that how life was for you in 1969?thought they were boring and i strongly disagreed with a lot of the views being presented to the point i didnt care. since i worked full time while going to college full time, something had to give and my other classes seemed a little more important when study time was available.

The Cards won 3 and the Padres won 2. who was better over a 5 game series? Who moved on to play the Mets? Great now I am going to find out roy is 6 and all of you are going to get mad at me for taking a shot at him.no the mvc was better the last 3 years and prior to that was dominated by the a-10.

Who here is against gays getting married? I think it would solve all our economy problems. Can you imagine all the money they would dump into our economy. They would have crazy expensive weddings. Just ask pistol.I'm somewhat surprised that it's Roy against the world here. I guess the all the pro-hemp, abby-NORMAL folks have picked off more than just the old lefties. Bottom line, drugs can screw you up bad. I know alchohol and ciggys are drugs too and are legal but comparing them to crack and heroin is rediculous. Everyone wants to give pot a free ride but the pot-smokers I know are usually more than a little "tweaked."
Clearly there are drawbacks to the "war on drugs." Legalization has bigger drawbacks in my opinion.
Sorry to ramble on but it really shocks me that the same folks who find big problems with gays getting married want to see doobies for sale at convenience stores........

Roy thank you for proving my point. mvc was better than the a10 3 out of the last 5 years. So, overall the mvc was better the last 5 years, just as good the last 6 years and not as good the last 7 years.not five years. just in 2004 the a-10 was the higher ranked conference and had two teams in the elite 8. the a-10 was then the higher ranked conference going back to 1999 where the mvc was the higher ranked conference, and prior to that the a-10 was always the higher ranked conference.
so the truth is that the mvc has been the higher ranked conference in 1999, 2005, 2006 and 2007 in history.

Mo St was a great game last year. I am looking forward to the SIU game this year. As a whole the valley has been better over the last 5 years.Well, it's a good thing that SIU and MO St. already come to town.
Oh and I'd revise that 5 years statement. I'll give you three years, but it was only four years ago that the A-10 had the #1 team in the country and two elite eight teams.

First off, I AM TRYING TO KEEP THIS BOARD ON TOPIC. I don't think saying lesbians like soccer is anti-homosexual. If I say Skip likes soccer is that anti-skip. I'm sorry if I offended any homosexuals.First off, how is this thread not already locked? With some of the stuff that gets locked around here, I figured that unwarranted spew against homosexuals would be an easy one to knock out. It even broaches a bit on the subject of politics- a double whammy for stopping this one before it gets uglier.
Second, powerballer, how is US Women's World Cup soccer a "lesbian topic?" Is it just because it's a women's sport? By that logic, men's college basketball would be a gay topic. You claim not to have a problem with lesbians, but making an unnecessary link between women's soccer and lesbians, even using the word "######," indicates that you might be lying about that.
I brought up politics because I was asked a question. I never used the word ######. I used dike.
I will stay away from homosexual remarks if that is found offensive. I am not homophobic or anti-gay. I make fun of everyone and mean no harm. I may be politically incorrect but I am not hateful.

I have no prblems with lesbians. I just think lesbian topics are for another board. GW and Iraq are at the top of my list for reasons I am frustrated with America. Hate is a strong word.I thought there were some people on here who liked soccer and since it's a slow time for the board I thought the thread may generate a little interest especially since there is a St. Louis connection.

I think postcard is a lesbian. All she posts about is women's soccer. I can't wait for her to chime in during softball season.I saw the first half before leaving for work. They played well, but not great. The Nigerian keep made a fantastic save on a header from Abby to keep it at 1-0 plus Kristine put a header just over top. The score could have been worse, but Nigeria is a good team. They played with 3 of the best teams in the world. If they were in a different draw I could see them possibly advancing.

Hands down the MVC has been better than the A10 over the last 5 years. I would love to se SIU, MO ST, Bradley and Creighton come to town over the crappy A10 school.I thought he mentioned the Big East.
I feel leaving the A10 for the MVC would be nothing more then a wash with one big difference> if we went to the MVC now, Elgin would have us sign a contract that it would be almost impossible financially for us to break if the opportunity came for us to enter the Big East or a new high profile conference. With RM at the helm and a new arena, getting into the Big East is not as far fetched as was this time last year. Lots depends on who we get as a AD.
I think the bills need to make the tourney a few times before the Big East comes calling.

No one is saying it is. Drug use and teenage pregnancy are problems in our society that come from people making bad decisions. That is how they are similiar. Are only illegal things wrong? Is it okay for me to stand outside your mom's house and call her a ***** everytime she walks out. Brianstl, you got me in another silly argument Why can't we just admit that all teams have players who have made bad judgement calls? I think we should should try and help these kids not throw them out on the streets.I must have missed when being a father was outlawed.

Jefferson County is part of the metro St. Louis area. The metro area of St Louis blows away the metro area of Carbondale on any scale you want to compare the two areas. Carbondale and the area around it lack cultural diversity. It lacks a true arts scene. It lacks quality choices in its music scene. The visual scenery in and around Carbondale is just depressing.
Yes, I now live in Jefferson County. Yes, Jefferson County has its fair share of white trash. Jefferson County on a whole is far superior to Carbondale.
Now this is getting just as silly as the Carbondale VS Jeffco argument.

We have atleast 1 father on the bills. If we are going to be so hard on everybody else, we should kick him out of school. Not that that would help anyone. The best thing for this player is to get and education, so he can take care of his family. Sounds to me like roy hates just to hate. Everyone deserves a second chance.

I just think it is silly to argue Jeffco vs Carbondale. Jeffco is not St. louis county. It is Jefferson County. St. Charles and St Peters are not St. Louis County. I think you know Jeffco is mostly white trash and that is why you tell yourself you live in St. Louis. It is okay to live in Jrffco. Just be honest with yourself. I too turned my back on the city for a better house and nieghborhood in the county, but I would never go S of 44 or w of 270.I was talking about the music scene in the metro area as a whole.
I lived in Soulard until recently. I found a deal I couldn't pass up in Jeffco.
