  1. Last year Lindenwood was predicted by many not only to win but "run away" with the league title because both Brett and another DI transfer, Joey Parker transferred there. Lindenwood finished 4th in conference, but runner-up in the Conference tournament and did not qualify for the National DI tourney in KC. The Heart of America conference is very competitive and at least one team beat Lindenwood twice (both games when Brett was eligible) this season and returns their entire roster in 2010-11. Kramer and Alex should really help Lindenwood and are excellent players, but there are some really good players in that league.

  2. The Billiken Elite Camp is scheduled for June 7th Anyone know who is attending? I hear that 6'8 2009 Jordan Dressler and 6'5 2010 Ricky Kreklow from Columbia Rockbridge will be there. Dressler is Mark Dressler's son who played for MU. Jordan plays for the STL Eagles. Kreklow was recently offered by MU and his father, Wayne was a roster player for the Boston Celtics. Wayne is currently the head Volleyball coach at MU, but I do not believe the decision will be based on that. Ricky plays for KC Pump and Run 16s who have won a number of tournaments this spring. I think SLU has a shot at both these guys.

  3. I was reading the USA Today at lunch and noticed that the NCAA will not accept classes form Milestone or Nashville Christian Academy. At least Reed didn't waste a whole year at multiple schools like this. Good job coach Threat guiding Anderson into two of these schools.

From what I heard today, students who attended Milestone this year can have their classes "reviewed" by the NCAA on a case by case basis. As of next year, the NCAA will not recognize the coursework at all from Milestone. Apparently Milestone is trying to work this out with the NCAA.

  4. Majerus has always built his program around the under-the-radar recruits. I'm not sure what you were expecting if our class including B. Thompson, Conklin, and K. Mitchell looks underwhelming to you.

Don't get caught up in "rankings". One of Coach Majerus' all time best recruits was Keith Van Horn and Utah was the only school to offer him a DI schollie. There are many kids out there who get missed for one reason or another by recruiting services. They can't see them all play.
  5. This is Jayme's Old Man and also the director of Team Missouri. Yes, we did play at Nike Memorial Day Classic/Nashville in 2006, and Howard Pulley in 2007...In fact the Eagles played us and beat us by 20...so check with Mister G. We have been invited to play at Howard Pulley again this season and will be there in May. We should have most of our roster this time around in Minneapolis, so we should do a little bit better.

Good Luck and I enjoy reading the board, even though you take quite a few shots at my kid. The Zac Efron references were a classic.

I am sorry I was wrong about the tournaments. There are always teams saying they were at tournaments and I don't see them, but I forgot your group has always played 17's so I wouldn't have seen them in Nashville and I didn't go to MN last year.

Just so you know I would never and have never taken a negative shot at a kid I know, and I have known Jayme for some time now. I am happy that he was able to lead his team to state.

Maplewood's schedule is hamstrung by our weak conference and teams reluctance to play us, because "we have nothing to gain from playing Maplewood." We pretty much had to trick Gateway Tech into playing us and drive out to Linn to do it. MICDS and Meramec have come up with convenient reasons for not allowing us into their tournaments, while letting far inferior teams from our conference in. But we got into and won the most important tournament we could. The thing is Bryant's numbers remained pretty consistent throughout the playoffs with that of the regular season and he has a lot of D1 coaches in the gym every night to see him and quite a few have offered him. So maybe just maybe our schedule is perfect for what we want to accomplish free college educations and state championships.

Maybe we can arrange another game for Maplewood at Linn in the Shootout January 09. I think coach wanted to come back and they have a fine team.

  6. so dad, does your son have an offer from slu?

    who else is recruiting/offers?

    thanks and good luck

No offer, just interest..and that's ok, he will play somewhere. UNI, UWGB, Colorado State, NW State (LA), Marshall all showing interest as well..we'll see what happens.
  7. They were not at those tournaments.

Team Missouri is a non sponsored group out of Mid Missouri. We don't have the resources of major shoe company sponsorship to select players. But we do compete and our kids play hard. Several examples...wins over Arkansas Wings, CJ Miles All Stars out of Dallas, Houston Lynx, Team Adidas to name a few...a one point game with former Nike team Martin Brothers...and a three point loss to Rocktown..with George Goode, Issac Miles and several other shoe company all stars two years ago. Made the Indiana Elite July Final 4, won the Great American Shootout NCAA in Dallas and Finshed 2nd in the Bronze division at Rockin the Rock over the past couple of years. We do play a tough schedule for a small scale summer team. This spring: Eddie Ford's Grassroots Shootout, Pittsburgh Jam Fest, Texas Showcase in Dallas and Howard Pulley. With that being said, I have a good relationship with the Eagles' administration and respect them for their wonderful program in the St. Louis area that has produced many great, great players and the guys that coach them...its amazing...they never seem to have any turnover in coaches!!!

As far as Jayme goes, he played like crap on Thursday night at state and he will be the first to admit it. Everyone has those nights, including the famous Billiken game at GW this season. Alot had to do with Lutheran North and the fine game they played. But give credit where credit is due. To be able to bounce back and put 26 on Marcus Denmon surprised some people from out of town, but was not a surprise to people in Mid Missouri who have seen Jayme play on a regular basis. Denmon is a very good player and defended Jayme throughout the game. Jayme had no problem getting his shot off against a very quick, athletic, big wingspan guard and to be honest Jayme made Denmon look a little confused on a number of plays.

Coach Majerus says Jayme reminds him of a "high school Travis Diener". In addition to 46% from 3, Jayme also had 190+ assists this season and was second leading rebounder. The Linn HS schedule is not class 5, but I think it was quite a bit better than Maplewood's overall and I don't think it would matter who Maplewood would play anyway, as they have a great team and player Bryant Allen, who plays alot like Jamaal Tatum. He has a great future ahead of him and hopefully he will be a Billiken.

Hopefully you will have an opportunity to see Jayme and our other kids play this spring and summer.
