  1. I have stated that I would cancel my season ticket subscription if we were to join the Valley as it is currently configured. However, my disappointment would certainly be lessened if Butler came along with us. The Valley would have to add two teams if it expands and Butler would certainly have to be considered. As hard as I believe it would be to recruit national level talent to play in the Valley, it has to be brutal recruiting to the Horizon League.

I checked their board and there is certainly some interest amongst their fans in leaving the Horizon. I wonder if their administration has similar feelings.

    WHAT!!!!

You few are always talking about wanting to play MIZ ZOU

    STEP RIGHT UP

    Join the BIG TWELVE

MIZ ZOU IS READY FOR YOU TO STEP UP.....BRING IT

  2. Let me take another stance on this topic. I actually agree with Caesar's point of view. While people might realize that I'm not a great fan of Majerus and that might cloud my judgment, let me add that I think Majerus has a great eye for talent and might be among the elite in teaching and tactics. My problem has always been about his character and ethics.

A coach, who is paid over a million dollars, has obligations that go beyond the basketball court. If he is not interested in public relations and all of the extraneous responsibilities that go with being a big-time coach, then he needs to go to NAIA (like Soderberg) and coach the game on its purest terms and without its monetary rewards. College basketball is big business and coaches need to be aware of that.

It is my guess that the powers that be will let Majerus slide due to either intimidation or fear of potential ramifications of sanctioning him, but I think Majerus should be held to the fire and told to uphold his contractual commitments. It does nothing, but damage SLU's credibility and presence in the eyes of local media and outside observers.

Dont you get it yet after all these years????

No on cares about stlouieu basketball except you few

  3. Mark Miller. who has posted here regarding Kwamain Mitchell among other things in the past, runs a nice event annually in Milwaukee. Perhaps someone running the Stl event can contact him for pointers? Good out of town and local teams, played on Marquetee's campus at the Al McGuire Center, and it includes a school of a Marquette recruit annually...be it a local or out of town recruit. Tix I believe are 7 bucks ish or so.

Alex Dragicevich is a nice player. One of these years perhaps SLU will get one of those North Shore wings.

Doubt that, but you can never say never

Alex was and is Notre Dame bound. Whoever said he would make a good small forward, Alex is and will always be a guard. As a matter of fact plays point guard much of the the time for Mr.Weber, and can do it all as a........ Guard.

  4. not good. a huge mistake that the organizers made was not working the schools. the first game there werent enough fans there to equal 1 fan per player. i.e. the kids didnt even get all their parents there let alone other students.

it is my understanding that there were no school discounts. the organizers said if the school band and cheerleaders come, they have to immediately leave after the game was over or else they had to buy a full priced ticket.

the tickets were very much over priced imo. $20 for a reserved seat, which i debated buying and then didnt to save the $5 for a hot dog later. considering no one really cared where you sat since the crowds were sparse, that was a good decision.

i applaud the mainly local teams. however like i said, they didnt then follow up with getting those schools to sell tix. my gosh, let the schools have x number of tickets at $10 for the entire day. the main thought should be getting people in the building and creating a buzz for future years.

the scoreboard thing still bothers me. no record of individual points and fouls. no ideal of the team fouls and timeouts. just the score.

here is a head scratcher. they gave away the programs. my gosh, sit a kid at the door and sell em for a $1. that is a dollar anyone would have paid.

want to generate some interest, why not kind of make it a missouri vs illinois thing? border war. each game pits a like team from across the water. and throw in a girls game or two. incarnate word and edwardsville girls is the game that needs to happen.

ofallon boys and webster boys would be a great game.

if there is going to be an out of the area team come in, at least get one that wont get blown out. my gosh if that was the best alabama's got, alabama basketball must suck.

last, throw some halftime entertainment in. we got nothing. they would play some pre-recorded songs. maybe. heck at least have cheerleaders doing routines or school dance teams. guess what about another 20 sets of parents per game buy a ticket. instead i think only four teams even bothered to bring their cheerleaders.

the town will suppor this event, but it sure seemed there were a lot of glaring obvious mistakes on this one. i am sure it will get better.

  7. Just a reminder for all us Saint Louis folks, the game is scheduled to be on CH 11 at 7:00 tonight. Not sure how or if you out of towners can get that Local St. Louis station.

Correct...the ozark network. Someone said Mr. ozark himself may be doing play by play.

  8. that was my apprehension over posting this. but your a college player who is being watched by scouts. how do you not look yourself up? i know i would be checking this everyday.

Willie hasnt really played against good competition to compare, playing for stlousu............but

    willie be gone!!!!!!

  9. We love laughing at your basketball programs dreams.

Spend some money and try building a small time division 10 program like your basketball program, can you believe these people spend their time thinking they have a basketball program.

Surely your football program is better, forgot you do not have a football program.

Oh well, at least your basketball program has to be better than your football program, guess all isnt bad in dreamland for you.

  10. Compare that to the mizzou and illinois coverage. True, i have the same blurb, but definitely no article.

    [/quote

Little team, so little coverage, seems very fair

    Post did a favor

Want them to write about how they broke the for the least points scored by a team that made national coverage all over the United States

There is no crying in baseball...................or basketball

  11. Just my opinion, but I think the days of Rick kissing the @$$e$ of local AAU coaches (agents?) is long gone. It was nice of him to invite them in for pizza and talk shortly after his hire, but his recruiting has made their influence somewhat meaningless. In two years they will be begging him to sign one of their players. I think this group of characters has overplayed its' hand.

    LMAO

    Yea right

Might be building a nice.. little.. aussie team though

    lol

  12. I tried going to a party the other night, but, damn the luck, I forgot to bring my paystubs!

Somewhere in the midwest, a retard asylum is missing an inmate... I am sure they are worried about you bbcountry. Get home from the library safely!

Poor thing you, didnt know how retarded you were

Though they let you out on weekends at least......with security of course

Glad to see they let you share the computer at least with the others
