Pretty terrible article. Good picture with Majerus and Lisch (who isn't on the team anymore). He refers to this group as his "starter kit" and "good recruits are on the way" like this group isn't capable of anything in a year or two. If he thinks Reed's body is a "stringy as dental floss" then he should have seen him last year. I don't believe in moral victories but 4 sophs and 6 freshmen losing by 11 and 12 to Iowa State and Notre Dame isn't anything to complain about. If Iowa State really was "bigger, stronger, and deeper" at every position then it sounds like we should have lost by 30.

I listened to this too. Rammer tried to discredit Lincecum by saying something about how he didn't pitch well "when his team needed him down the stretch" and Law called that "old school nonsense." While he did come off as being very pompous, I agree that kind of thinking is nonsense. Law did try to discredit Carp and Wainwright by saying that they benefit from a better defense behind them, Randy and Rammer came back and said it's by design that the Cardinal pitchers get a lot of ground ball outs.
I don't remember who he put as his #3 but it wasn't Carpenter and I agree with that too. He missed over a full month of the season and I think that should pretty much disqualify him from the award. Not really his fault but the team suffered because we had to start Thompson/Boggs instead.

Booing is fine. But you certainly don't need to be chanting bull sheat 3 or 4 different times during a game against SEMO. IF you have to do it, save it for a rare occasion against a big opponent when there is a horrible call.
I don't think the students need to do the BS chant, ever. Besides the fact that people bring their 5 year old kids to the games, it's also just lame and tacky, esp when it's a routine call that went against SLU.

After the event I asked Coach about Cody.
Me: "Coach, let's say that Cody got here next week. Would he be able to start classes-"
Coach (interrupting): "He's not getting here next week. We hope he'll be here by December 17th."
Me: "So he can't start playing until the second semester starts?"
Coach: "That's right."
Second time I've met him, he was very friendly again. I'm not mad that he interrupted my question though. He thanked me for asking him that and thanked me for being a great fan, since most of the fans don't follow recruiting or follow the saga with Cody.

Most people last season expected us to finish in the bottom four in the league.

Doesn't look like we're making the list. As we proved last year, it's completely impossible to win any games with young players unless they're hyped-up one-and-done super-recruits like OJ Mayo or John Wall.

I'm just as disappointed in the last two games as anyone, but man, you need to stop talking out of your ass. Oh no, we lost to a good team in their house with a dominant big man who we had no answer for. Oh no, we couldn't get Hansborough to come here instead of UNC. I don't see how anyone can be upset with the season on the whole and with the direction the program is going. We aren't going to be like Duke or UNC or Kansas or UConn overnight.

Brad himself should suit up and play. With a player-coach like him out there we should win the national title easily.

What really gets me is that he's the #2 overall player in the class, he can go anywhere he wants, and he decides to go to the 5th best program in the state of North Carolina. He must have some family connection or something.

My day just took a turn for the worse. I was looking at scout.com and saw that Charlotte has a 5-star recruit at PF coming in with the class of 2007.

Yahoo Sports says Alexander is a senior but Charlotte's athletic page says he is a junior. I'll go with Charlotte's page then.

Charlotte: Withers and Alexander gone.
Temple: Mardy Collins gone.
La Salle: Steven Smith gone.
Xavier: Thornton and Finn gone.
Anyone else like our chances of being the best team in the conference next year? I don't know much about the younger players for these respective teams, but GW should still be a force, as should Xavier. Dayton and St. Joes could make some noise also. I definately like our chances next year though.

I agree, it would be very low-class if they actually made fun of Dwayne's daughter. They're kidding, kind of like how Danny is kidding when he says he "sells coke." It's also hilarious how the most "dirt" they can find on us is that one of our players has fathered two children already. No girlfriend-beating, DUIs, or dognapping on this team. I give them an "A" for effort though.
