  1. They should of played the game in the Ft. Wayne Memorial Colliseum...capacity crowds favor the Irish...hey, kind of funny that no one showed up...I think the ND students thought they would roll over that small Juco that Rudy went to before transferring to Notre Dame...not thinking that this Holy Cross is in Worcester Mass and is a Jesuit institution. I think ND has a problem all together with Jesuit universities from the Bay State (BC, anyone)??

  2. I'm not sure why people don't go to NIT games...it boggles the mind. Back in the day, and I'm sure BRoy can attest to this, the NIT was the "sh!t" tournament to play in, back when Bradley and CCNY and Long Island U were point shaving back in the old Garden. I think the ND-SLU game in Ft. Wayne last year was a great NIT environment...(the place was packed with ND fans and 100 or less SLU fans), and it was fun being a part of that. Felt like an NCAA game because of the "neutral site" we played at (kind of). Also, just like the other MU, this MU has a loyal following of bandwagon fans who spend more time calling in to AM talk stations in KC and STL than they do with their kids. That's why no one showed up at the game because they were on the phone.

  3. Watching that game last night also revealed how Deiner's draft stock could rise, because without him running the show, Marquette could have been defeated by a good NAIA team. I'm not sure if MU is on spring break, but talk about fairweather fans and not showing up to the game. You can't be that pissed off about not getting an NCAA bid...or can you? I know I can't speak for SLU and our huge student section of blue crew, but where was the Warrior passion?? The dedication?? Piss poor, Marquette. I hope the Big East treats you like the small-time program you guys are.

  4. my uncle's two-year old son has a five-inch vertical leap... great ball-handler, sees the court well, think he could start on the varsity pre-school team next year. state champs last year....i think we should scout him....freshmen have a lot of maturing to do and this guy could be a headcase. we need to win now and not in 2008.

  5. i hope my grandkids get to see Steve Wojciechowski coach Duke and Drew Deiner coach SLU in the first game at the new Arena. god that would be awesome. maybe chris collins would coach Duke. who knows?!?! also, why is Mizzou arena not called Paige Sports Arena anymore and why when I say "New Comiskey" do my co-workers at US Cellular get all mad at me??

  6. To all those people who feel bad for Darius Washington, please never post anything on this board again. Just because we're a "Catholic, let's try to be nice" school we should feel bad for him??? Gutsy move by Pitino to send him to the line... No, screw him...give me a break. I hope he throws himself off a bridge while he's driving to pick up some tail in West Memphis.

  7. Roy, no Peoria schools - correct, but I was at the Washington-Richwoods game in Peoria at the Fieldhouse and there were more Orange shirts in the crowd (which was capacity) than Richwoods green. RHS is coming off the AA Women's Championship and I think a lot of the RHS fans thought the very tough Washington team was going to lie down. Jamar Smith, a U of I recruit was hounded by tough pressure D all night long and WHS bigmen just punished RHS sophomore Billy Cole like it was nobody's business. WHS is 15 minutes from downtown Peoria and they will represent Peoria (if they can get by the winner of the Lincoln Sectional) better than Manual, Central and Richwoods have in the past. I was very impressed with the turnout.
