  1. Roy, we need guys with that fire underneath their bellies. We have no one like that. Guys with a passion to win at all costs. I don't care about image. Soderberg is a classy guy and he can spin all he wants. I want players who dive eight rows into the stands for a ball. I want guys who will take a guy down to the floor on a simple box out. I want guys who will shove a guy into press row if that player does anything to one of our guys. I want a guy who simply refuses to lose. Now I don't want just one guy. I want an entire roster of guys like that. We don't have that and we never will. Start recruiting guys who will step up and play with an attitude.

  2. Roy, we don't need players who accept losing. Bottom line. No one on the 2006-2007 team is a vocal leader on the court and/or locker room. Someone needs to step up. We need guys who will land a right hook every once and a while, instead of crying like Liddell and having to be hauled off the court by his coach. Pathetic. You know it too, Roy. You're just to afraid to admit it.

  3. Anybody see that ad during the World Series? I don't trust a guy like Fox, an actor, when he starts fidgeting and shaking like he's got something. Vote No on 2. I'll give you Ali because the guy took some blows to the head and I'm sure that has something to do with it. But J. Fox is an actor. The guy is an actor. ACTOR.

  4. And I quote a previous Billikan post:

"We know we have Bryce, who is developing, and the three young players in AK, HD and Obi. I would be surprised if Bryce is not an even better player by the start of next season and even now he is very good on the defensive end. Clearly, the jury is still out on Bryce but I have hopes that he can be an effective player in his senior year."

Bryce is a mediocre D-1 basketball player at best. He is slow, un-athletic and has no touch from outside the paint. He can't play defense, gets thrown around by opposing point guards, cannot set a screen to save his corn husking life and has no hand-eye coordination. In his bio, it says he was an "All-State golfer." Hmmmmmm.

  5. Looking ahead, SLU would be a perfect fit for Lavin. SLU women would flock to the games, hair gel sales would skyrocket, and we might even get some Pac-10 games on the schedule, instead of having to play Pacific or BYU-Hawaii. His run-and-gun style would be great for the Budweiser Pavillion when it opens, and we'd get a coach with some backchannel recruiting contacts, who wouldn't be afraid to recruit a kid on the streets of Harlem when the sun goes down.

  6. Saw Obi at 10:30 a.m. Mass at College Church...funny story, just as I was kneeling after Communion, praying for a great year...I look up, and there's Obi walking back to his pew. I think that's an omen...

    OBI!
