  1. Entering the season I heard of the A-10 reputation as a guards league, but now I see it. St. Joe's guards pushed our guys way outside the arc (thus my earlier comment that we looked like we were playing 4 corners.) When that happens there is no way Ian's getting the ball unless he steps out. Luckily for us, I think him stepping out suits us well as: IV has skills he can use there (after all he is a European big man), it opens the floor for playmaking (L&L) and it allows aggressive play/rebounding (LM). It also, and I say this tongue in cheek, puts him in better rebounding position for our missed 3 pointers.

  2. We need Shooter to get off the sauce and start scouting these teams in the A-10. We are facing too many new styles of play and are taking our lumps the first time through the conference.

Could we possibly make any more passes from 5 feet beyond the 3 point arc in one game? It looked like we were playing 4 corners.

  3. You know I was talking to Shooter the other day and he mentioned how the boys are really going to have to come together as a team next season. They could have used some more of that this season.

He wishes Coach Soderberg well in breaking in the young colts next year, as they will need to produce. We pretty much agree that the Drejaj kid played on one of our Hickory teams.

  4. ...up to now the picks have been relatively easy going. After this weekend, it is going to be a real nailbiter for the rest of the season.

We are clearly a competitive team that will be in every game, but I suspect may also have one or two down shooting nights that may sting us. When will they be?

    It will be fun.

  5. There's two types of dumb guys one that gets naked, goes outside and barks at the moon. The other is standing in my living room. First one don't matter, second one you're kinda forced to deal with.

At least this is better than the B-Ball versus Soccer discussion.

  6. The positive offensive memories I have of his play have been athletic, to the hole moves. Can he shoot?

What is the issue here: offense, defense, toughness?

Are we to be terrible suprised that a thin (very), European type (OK Israeli) player may lack some of the toughness that Brad desires?

My initial sense of Ian, who is only 18, a freshman, and in a new county, is that he is a bit timid. I am not expecting a ferocious competitor to be unleashed for conference play.

They are all kids who's game will develop through coaching, but I was hoping for more from Izik.
