  1. That's true on both counts. that really wasn't the point though.

    Brianstl was saying that even Romar couldn't get it done and now he has nothing but top 50 recruits. I'm simply saying it helps when you have a local crop lining up to play for you. Any prominent coach worth their salt would be landing many of those players if they were coaching at UW. in other words, doesn't have as much to do with romar as it does the school, etc

  2. Yes, i realize that a pg is from Ill. I was responding to:

    "If you think any non big name coach is going to land top 100 players from outside the area you are sadly mistaken. It didn't even happen with Romar here and he seems to land nothing but top 50 kids at UW now. It would have been a waste of time for Brad to recruit those kids."

    i think you're putting too much into my post. wasn't trying to assert all of the things you speak to. I'm just pointing out that its easier to recruit nothing but top 50 recruits when your backyard is full of them. Those kids in WA over the years have been waiting for UW to have a coach worth playing for.

  3. Frank C and Rammer had H on earlier today and he shared his thoughts on potential candidates. Unfortunately someone popped in my office so I didn't hear it. The radio hosts seemed to think his list was good but didn't repeat it. Did anyone hear the list? Did he mention anyone that isn't on Bernie's long list?

  4. I question the validity of any list that would say Seattle would consider drafting another project center. They aleady have two 7-footers in Johan Petro and Robert Swift that are 20 years old. Their vertern inside guys are Chris Wilcox, Mikki Moore and Nick Collison. They don't need to get younger in the front court.

    Perhaps they're just saying he's the 53 best player in the draft...

  5. In response to original post;

    1. Brad is the leader. It is clear from the poise of the young players that there are many future leaders that can be an extension of him on the floor. So going forward we'll have more than just 1 Sr leader on the floor. For emotion, I was pleasantly surprised by JJ's play tonight.

    2. If we tried to man up against Morrison or Raivio one or both would have killed us. I like Brad b/c he's willing to take his best shot and adjust his game plan each night to do so. I see a lot of Gonzaga games out here and Morrison was definitely slowed significantly by something the Billikens did. He doesn't just have an off night...i don't buy that.

    3. What is the story with Brown? I liked Husak's effort tonight. Maybe I don't get to watch enough SLU games but Husak seemed very solid compared to what I expected.

    4. Liddell is a Fr. Looks pretty darn good to me. Hasn't he earned 3 straight A10 Fr of the week so far? I hope he isn't like Larry. He'll help us build a program by being here for a few years.

    Being out in Seattle I watched the Gonzaga broadcast. They were very complimentary of Brad as a coach, Ian and our freshman. Hopefully we'll get some good national press for this effort to help spring recruiting. Hope all of you in STL made it down to the game tonight!
