3star_recruit
He's still the same scrappy, athletic 6-6 1/2 power forward that he was 6 months ago. Not that I'm complaining.
thetorch
Great news. We have got to be able to beat out SIU-C. We play in a higher conference and we have to be able to offer him atleast the same amount of playing time he can get there, at least he will have a good chance to start. Lock him up Brad. Then we can focus all efforts on Liddell.
jjray
Thanks for the news PDiddy. I am sure our poll was the deciding factor--13-2! Strange timing though. I wonder if we were holding out for someone else who got away.
DeSmetBilliken
It would make sense considering that Grimes recently verballed to Mizzou, so now the staff would offer the next best area post player. Now that Grimes is out of the picture, it gives SLU more time to devote their attention to players like Shaw, Liddell, Evans, etc.
Schasz
I think Matt Shaw would look good in the Billiken Blue and White.
Basketbill
The coaching staff was not after grimes in early june, perhaps they read the writing on the wall or whatever, but I do not think the sudden decision to offer shaw had to do with Kalen committing to Mizzou. I suspect that after the evaluation period they determined he was the best fit....do not know what held them back perhaps they wanted to see how he did against some big bangers at the Super Showcase. tseugnekillib
p diddy, I always enjoy your informative posts but this one, if true, is quite surprising to me. Hopefully, your source is from the Shaw family or from Matt's hs coach. Nothing personal, but I'll wait a bit for another confirmation on this particular offer. Shaw is such a neat kid, a hard working blue-collar player and a legitimate college student, that you want nothing but the best for him (like choosing the best-fit conference level for his college career).
