Quality Is Job 1
http://espn.go.com/ncb/columns/misc/1586675.html Now that the restriction of playing in only two exempt tournaments in four years is gone, would the Billikens be interested in playing in one of this year's tournaments that still have openings? >>The Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands has two open spots for marquee teams. The tournament in November has six committed (Boston College, Appalachian State, Hampton, LaSalle, Monmouth and Wichita State) teams but would add two more for an eight-team field. Brad Soderberg would have to rework the schedule, but it might be worth it to get this team with so many newcomers a few extra games against quality opponents in a neutral setting. Thoughts? aj_arete
I don't think it would do much for the RPI. Other than Boston College, the other schools are RPI killers. Surely, they're other options out there.
Taj79
While the RPI point can be made ... I like thicks thought that this team, due to so many newcomers playing significant minutes, needs more games like these to come together. I would be all for it for that reason alone. If this were last year, could all the guys on the roster, save the incoming freshmen Husak and Clarke, have gone on the European trip? Guys like Morris, Frericks, Johnson, Bryant, etc.....? NashvilleBilliken
I'm almost always game for a good tourney. We get exposure to teams and regions which we would otherwise not get to compete with. It can only help recruiting and team chemistry...bring it on!
