billiken_roy
got this off of dave telep's recruiting site, "the insidershoops". dave writes, "We’ve seen Ft. Sooy No Limit center Mick Yelovich at a number of places this spring. And, each time the Mount Zion (IL) High standout makes us think of the same guy: Arvydas Sabonis. Yelovich checks in at 6-10 and 265. He’s not the swiftest runner or best athlete. But, he’s skilled and smart. Yelovich can face and knock down 10-footers. He’s not out there trying to bang home 3s, he makes the shot he’s capable of making. And more importantly, he passes the ball like Sabonis. Someone is going to get a helluva mid-major center. On June 4th, Yelovich visited Ball State unofficially. He’s hearing from most of the Missouri Valley schools. Bradley, Illinois State, UNC-Wilmington, Southern Illinois, Drake, St. Louis and Auburn have been in touch."
mws26
According to Brad's comments today, Ian has a comparable game to Vlade. Put Yelovich (Sabonis) in the front court with him and you have to like the potential. Then consider the athleticism of a guy like JJ and the height of Husak...also Frericks. As long as a couple of these guys can defend, we're looking pretty good with the bigs. Do you guys think Brad will look to go big or small with the remaining 2 scholarships? Or do you think he'll just go with the best player available? As far as I'm aware, this is the local list we are targeting: Shaw, Lidell, Evans, Yelovich. Is this correct? cheeseman
I need a recount of how many scholarships Brad has left for next year - he gave one to Polk and so what is left? Is it 2 or 3?
SLU Fan
I would add Luke Meyer to your list of local recruits that the coaching staff is looking at currently. With the Polk commitment, Brad still has two scholarships available for this Fall's recruitment period. SLU Fan
