Pistol
Don't look now, but it looks like the baseball Bills might actually finish the season with a winning record. Moving to the A-10 was a nice shot in the arm for the team. And if they win a few more (they have 7 regular season games and the A-10 tourney left), will this be Bob Hughes' first winning season ever? Talk about being content with mediocrity. He should have been gone years ago, but I think (just like in Pizzoti's case) Woolard wasn't about to do anything but keep the status quo. Hughes must have the easiest job in the world: take whatever recruits are leftover, win a couple games, lose a lot more, and take home a six-figure salary with no one the wiser. We could do better- after all, SLU is now among the warm weather baseball teams in the conference.
gister
What are you reading? The season is over and they finished 19-33. They finished in 6th place and so will miss the A-10 tournament.
knight_rider
Look a little closer, the article was focusing on softball.
aj_arete
This is what the direct link to the A-10 standings show: http://www.atlantic10.org/sports/baseball/ Guess that means they will be eligible for the A-10 tournament.
gister
That's much better news. Thanks
billikenmetz
Billy Baseball is right where it should be in the A-10. C-USA was tough on us, and the Mo Valley would probably be tough, as Bradley, Mo State and Creighton own the all-time season series with SLU. Good to see Bobby Hughes taking care of business. A sweep of GW and 2 of 3 in Charlotte was huge!
Box and Won
Heck, we even beat Bradley twice and Missouri State once this season. Creighton beat us pretty badly though, and we lost a tough game to SIU. I like our odds a lot better in the A10 than in CUSA!
