Before I get crackin' on that Billikens.com Research Paper (I got an extension til Monday without really asking, sweet huh?) But anyway. Somethings came up today:

Kahok, please continue to contribute. It is boring if we all agree. I know that there are some hard-liners on the board that are strong in their convictions, but they are not mean individuals. Just if you say something that is against the norm, just be prepared to back it up strongly. Just how everything goes. For example, you go in a room of Republicans and you shout out that we should increase the amount of Welfare programs we have, you are not going to hear silence. Or you go in a room full of Democrats and shout out Bush was absolutely right in the Iraq situation, you will not get silence. It is just how things go. The theme on this board is pretty established, but it doesn't mean it doesn't change.

Examples: People were disappointed with the Brad hiring at first, now you don't hear many peeps..

As for a more hard-liner, you specifically mentioned Roy, one example of him changing his mind is the Arena issue. At first he was ne who opposed it a lot (he really liked Saviss), but to my knowledge he has turned around and is more supportive of it.

Just stick around, and post. I am sure everyone will fall in agreement at some point. Never feel unwelcomed.

I expect to post my paper sometime next week. I discuss this situation a lot in it (about 3-4 Pages of it). So trust me, it is not a new feeling that you have.

MU and Vis:

Sorry everyone for that little distraction this afternoon. This what you get when the owner and operator of the board is 19 and a Freshman in College, you get his Friends. Now everyone remember your friends in High School, were you the most mature and civil people when you are around one another. If you were, well, then I am different ;) We are a fun group of guys, and I am actually going to Columbia (hopefully I will survive) to pick MU from school. Sorry that you guys had to deal with that, hopefully it won't happen again (since I showed some computer skills tracking them down). I locked the threads so no one has to scroll past them.

Finally this "free board" situation.

I only read 4 boards often, this being the most, and I think I am one of the most lenient moderators that there is. This month, from billliken_roy to today has not been our best record. There has been more moderation done since billliken_roy, than there has been in the entire history of the board on Billikens.com. I let things go, and I personally would not have locked the thread, but it was getting ridiculous and I don't think thicks was in the wrong to lock it. That may sound like a contradiction, but I do not like moderation, and it takes a bit for me to moderate. Maybe this is good, maybe bad, but just the way I do it, and so far it has worked.

thicks, you did exactly what I hoped you would do as moderator. Today I had a Poli Sci test (which I B'ed when I needed to A it, but a B won't kill me), and I could not concern myself with the situation until later in the day. And you took control of the situation, and while you did things differently than I did, you were in the right doing it. I trust your judgement, and I appreciate your willingness to let things slide that I would would let slide (language for example). But you did exactly what I wanted you to do as moderator today, moderate. So thank you, I am sure that this will not be the first time.

But Soccer season will end soon, hopefully after 3 more wins :) and then that debate will drift away and all will be well.

Well, I need to get to this paper,

Steve

PS My roommate just tried to claim Boston is a better baseball town than St. Louis...Now that is a ridiculous statement.

Having grown up in New England and attended SLU, I can tell you these two franchises are very similar as are their rabid fans. Both teams have a lot of regional appeal and devoted fans. They are equal. Mizzou #4, and #5 in the polls ....#1 or #2 in the sights of NCAA investigators.

Had to walk the old dog. She's lost all sense of time. Morning Stever. You're either just getting in from a long night out or cramming. Where do I send a check to?

Paper writing, it is due monday, but I need to have it in near final draft form in 7 hours and 40 minutes (plus sleep, the poker tournament final round is today at 7pm). So we will see how this goes.

As for the check, I already generously recieved more than I needed to keep Billikens.com going for a year. And with the move to a cheaper host, I may be good for 2 years (thanks thicks!). So don't worry about the check for right now. But thank you.

Steve
