BillikenButch Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 Everyone in the family is fighting. It makes me harken back to the good ole days of MU posters stirring up trouble. I can't wait until we play some real competition so that we can discuss basketball meaningfully. Here's hoping all Billiken teams are victorious in competition! Quote
alameda bob Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 I am on vacation at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Nigel with my wife. This morning we went for a walk on the beach at sunrise. A high schoolsurfing contest was in progress and just as the sun was climbing over the cliff to the area where everyone was watching, it was over! San Clemente HS beat South Laguna today. I felt sorry for these kids because now they have to go sit in a classroom for the rest of the day. Hey folks lets keep everything in perspective and have a Happy Thanksgiving with those we love and mean the most to us. Quote
Billiken Rich Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 I was at Disney world with CentFlBilliken. I was wearing a STL Cardinal shirt and hat. A couple of guys wearing Tiger appearal wandered by noticed the St. Louis connection. We verbally savaged them for not playing hoops with SLU. They stumbled away from the encounter with apologizes for Quin's gutlessness. It was hilarious!. Quote
BillikenButch Posted November 25, 2003 Author Posted November 25, 2003 Why weren't you wearing your Billiken gear? Quote
BillikenButch Posted November 25, 2003 Author Posted November 25, 2003 That's pretty good. The Tiger fans continue to wear their Mizzou outfit all week. It is called the Smell of the Tiger Quote
alameda bob Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 This is scary, I read this and as I was standing on the Mission Beach walkway watching some dolphins swim by a guy named Bob visiting from St. Louis starts talking to me. He works at McDonnell-Douglas and graduated from Duke in '64, so we are soon talking college hoops for at least a half hour. Then 4 guys walk by, one wearing Mizzou sweats and cap. I shout out "Quinn is afraid to play the Billikens" and they stop in their tracks and we all had some good natured ribbing as they played dumb about the whole issue. This was 3,000 miles from your experience, but isn't it a small world after all? I'm back to work in the rainy bay area after 2 beautiful mid 70 degree weeks in San Diego and Orange Co. I'm feeling good about my preseason prediction for the year. Quote
