billiken_roy
slaten interviewed kevin lisch and his high school coach, greg lieb, tonite on his radio show. slaten had every opportunity to slam the billikens and did not. very good interview and kevin again expressed his enthusiasm for saint louis university. before the interview, kevin slaten was telling claiborne that it was his understanding that when kevin visited illinois, they were scrimaging and kevin at the time was guarding one of the lesser participants. shortly into the scrimmage, he asked if he could instead guard deron williams, the illini pre-season all american. he immediately went into his full court man-to-man and apparently was giving williams fits. good stuff. lamontcranston
I heard the interview yesterday and yes you are right Slaten had every oportunity to slam Coach or SLU and he did not. It's was almost as if one of the prerequisits of the interview was that Slaten not slam Coach Sodaberg or Kevin's choice of SLU in any way, at times I cringed waiting for SLaten's possible response, but he behaved himself. On another note is Troy Slaten hurt.He has not been listed in the last two box scores of the UMSL games.
cheeseman
He got his slams in earlier in the show - he said that Polk and Lisch need to beware when Brad talks about an uptempo game - Brad does not know what uptempo means according to Slaten. Claiborne said that while he knows that Slaten does not like coach that he has done a nice job recruiting locally so far.
3star_recruit
Kevin Slaten railed on Bruce Weber before their interview with Roger Powell. Doesn't consider Weber a good coach and claims that its soley because of Illinois' superior talent that they've performed so well this year. Says that Missouri's talent level is mediocre by comparison no matter how highly touted they were out of high school. Apparently Slaten has no idea how much Head and Powell have improved since Weber has been there.
cheeseman
Yes, I heard him say that nonsense. He is just pis#### than nobody thought his son was a top D1 player that no one will ever meet his expectations. I wonder what he would be saying about his beloved Norm Stewart if he did not recruit Troy?
Quality Is Job 1
Norm Stewart probably would have recruited Troy Slaten to appease Kevin Slaten just as he recruited Pat Schumacher to recruit Pat's dad.
