Lord Elrond Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Time to beat the Flyers, (even though they don’t have a College of Aviation ) Quote
Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 VAR for a foul call against SLU. And it turned into a red card 21 minutes into the game for Carlos Leatherman, so Billikens now playing short a man. Quote
Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 Jeremi Abonnell makes a good play on a ball in the box, 30th minute Quote
Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 Jeremi Abonnel makes another great save with 1:20 left in the first half Quote
Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 0-0 at the half. 4 shots, 2 CKs for SLU 6 shots 0 CKs for Dayton. Abonnell making 3 saves was vital after SLU went down to 10 men. One of the SLU corner kicks was nearly a disaster, ball went over everyone, Dayton recovered, and suddenly was headed toward the SLU goal as fast as possible with numbers. Abonnell broke it up. Quote

Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 Just now, Pistol said: Right call? I think it was for DOGSO. I didn’t think it was much live of a foul live, but it was a foul. The ref immediately went to do the VAR tent. Red card given only after he came back from the tent. So I guess what could be seen on the video really tells the story. I wouldn’t have given a red from what I saw. Quote

Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 It would be helpful if the refs explained the VAR review like they do in MLS. I’ve come to see it’s really helpful for them to do that. Quote
Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 Don’t know why the ref didn’t pull a card on the foul in midfield about 35:30 Quote
Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 But we get a kick in a dangerous area, too bad we booted it 25 feet above the goal post Quote
slufanskip Posted October 5 Posted October 5 They need to start giving Reds to players who go down so soft. Billikens can’t complain though they do the same thing. Being a pu$$y is a badge of honor in sports today I wouldn’t have even called a foul. its no longer about whether you were fouled it’s about e “earning” a call. Can’t blame college kids though as that’s what the professionals do. AGB91 1 Quote
Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 24 minutes left and we’ve really limited their offense chances and gotten some of our own since going short handed Quote

The average non athletic 4th grader could have stayed on their feet The women are tougher than the men at all levels Quote
Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 Great save by Abonnel with. 15:30 left in the 2nd Quote

Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 And the ref finally decides to do a VAR review on that foul in the box against SLU Quote
Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 Long VAR review by ref results in a red against Dayton, back even. Flyer kicked our aluminum thing in frustration. Quote
Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 Both teams even for the last 10:37 of the game Quote
billikenbill Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Nil nil final. Nothing like the excitement of a scoreless kickball tie. Quote
Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 0-0 final, but the way SLU played defense down a man for so long was well done. Quote
Lord Elrond Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 I’ve exposed the secret inner workings of the VAR tent! Quote
