That was a gracious exit message, not burning bridges is always a good thing to do. The question remains, why did he leave?

He has been commuting from Columbia and has taken a position in the Columbia area.

That's pretty reasonable.

If I had a commute like that, I’d be looking for a different job too

100 minutes each way would kill me, I think.

Pathetic.

Walton family can I pretty please have another $50 millions dollars?  Our football players all need cars to celebrate our non-conference wins over Central Arkansas, Louisiana and UMass.     Thanks!     Some jobs are more challenging that others.

People getting hired away is good thing.  It means you have good people others want.  It doesn't happen often in the SLU athletic department.

Considering he never moved to St. Louis it seems like he knew he was always going back to Mizzou.

It is not only the length of the commute, it is the large number of trucks in I 70 plus the sun in your face in the morning going East, and in the afternoon heading West that makes that commute really miserable.

There is also lots of road construction between Columbia and Wentzville.

I70 is not an Interstate highway, it’s a Demolition Derby with trucks thrown in

I have a friend whose family lives in Columbia and he works in STL. He drives in Monday morning, stays in a small apt in town and drives back Friday after work.

Paying for a mortgage on a house in Columbia, paying for an apartment in St Louis, and never seeing your family except on weekends.

None of that makes it sound more appealing to me.
